On his 18th birthday, Takeru Tenkūji lost his life by the attack of a strange monster, Gamma. His life is brought back for a time thanks to hermit-ish man but he must find 15 Ghost Eyecons for his perfect rebirth. He begins his adventure to find the eyes through fighting Gamma as Kamen Rider Ghost. Destiny of the world banks on his fight.

Il revient à la vie temporairement grâce à l'homme ermite, mais il doit trouver 15 Eyecons pour qu'il soit ramené à la vie définitivement. Facts: "Kamen Rider Ghost" ended up being a subpar series because of 3 things.
The first is that japanese soccer moms were angry with Toei that the show wasn't babysitting their children, despite the fact that babysitting their own children is their own responsibility in the first place. Toei knuckled under, knowing that at the end of the day that the soccer moms were the ones that decided whether or not their child got Toei's latest toy.
2. Toei committed A LOT of executive meddling with this series when they gave in to the soccer moms demands. Resources and time that were meant to go to Ghost as a series were instead used for the production of "Kamen Rider Amazons" leaving the 2nd third of the show without the suits it needed to progress its story. Only THREE entirely new suits were seen in the show during the period Amazons was being concurrently made. Ghost's "Mugen Damashii" form didn't actually debut in the show until 2 episodes AFTER it was introduced because the suit wasn't finished in time for filming because the company responsible for costumes, "Blend Master" had been ordered by Toei to prioritize the Amazons suits over what was needed for Ghost.
3. Ghost's nosedive is also a result of the show's troubled production. Most behind the scenes issues concerning a Toei owned series are usually kept under lock and key out of fear of violating the japanese equivalent of a Non Disclosure Agreement, or simply the fear of burning bridges in the tokusatsu industry. Ghost's head writer "Takuro Fukuda" would regularly be absent from the show's production, leaving "Keiichi Hasegawa" (and to a lesser extent, "Nobuhiro Mouri") left to try and introduce character arcs and lore, which would end up being contradicted when Fukuda returned; but only for the sole purpose of writing filler episodes until Ghost reached its finale. Add on the show's pacing issues and arbitrary plot points that are introduced and then quickly forgotten which was due to mandates to meet each movie event deadline, and its no surprise that several scenes that were required to understand the ongoing storyline and character development were left on the cutting room floor, only to be recollected into the "Legend of Hero Alain" home video minisodes.
Takuro Fukuda's first excuse for not being as involved with the show as he should have been is because he had a busy schedule, and if you look at his IMDB page; that seems to be the case, but we have no way of knowing what level of quality those things he worked on are in order to see if he put any actual effort into them.
Takuro's second excuse is that he didn't have much creative freedom thanks to the soccer moms, but that just makes him look unsympathetic in my eyes; since instead of trying LITERALLY even once to work with the constraints that were forced upon him, he pussied out. Hard.
There's also the fact that Takuro used to work under Hasegawa as a secondary writer back when "Ultraman Max" and "Ultraseven X" were respectively airing. Now, maybe this is just me; and the fact that I was born and raised american, but making your former superior who may or may not have helped you get your foot in the door for the position as a show's head writer; do most, if not ALL of the heavy lifting when it comes to writing said show; is a dick move.
If you need proof that miracles exist in this world, the fact that Alain got the character arc that he did should prove that beyond any doubt.
In short, "Kamen Rider Ghost" deserved better as a series; it didn't have to turn out the way that it did. Which is why I will forever associate Takuro Fukuda and his laziness with the (forced) hashtag campaign "#FuckYouFukuda".
I'd also be remiss to not point out that Takuro seems to have an incest fetish considering that one scene from episode 34 of Ghost, and most of the interactions between Reika and Ryoga Shindai in "Kamen Rider Saber".

@@lowkeyobsessedngl Lazy writing is certainly a factor, but as I stated in my rant; it wouldn't be proper to blame all of Ghost's problems as a series on just one aspect of it, or on just one person. Multiple things about the show, and the people involved in its production share more or less equal blame.

So in the end, it was pretty much Hasegawa who had to pick up for Fukuda, eh?
But at least Saber was luckier cuz it didn't seem to suffer such production issues like Ghost did; its only hindrance, from what I can see, being the Winnie the Pooh Virus (and they did pull through despite the pandemic; especially after it further messed up Zero-One, which was already dropping the ball since the ZAIA arc).

One of the most enjoyable series I ever watched. Not the best but atleast it manage to be entertaining especially in the ending of this story.

I don't know how this is entertaining. I dropped it after he died for the fifth times in the show because his death no longer hold any meaning since there's nothing at stakes and the concept of death is treated as a joke in the show.

Ghost I feel would be a great series to adapt to the west. If only to give it a second chance after all the problems it had behind the scenes. As the supernatural aspect has a lot of potential.

it's budget got taken away by both ex aid and amazons(and despite that ghost still turned out better than both imo), the complains of the mothers and the problem with the writer, as a fun fact the temple where the story took place apparently was spirited, there were certain areas that cat seemed to be scared of and idr correctly but the cats looked at that part of the temple and ran away, or so i heard, takerus actor apparently saw the ghost of a women in the episode that was being filmed on the woods later in the show

Same writers with Saber. Same issue. They did not made the main character memorable enough because the supporting characters are better written.
I quite fancy Touma personally. Maybe it's just because I am a writer myself but his "I'm not a hero, I am just a novelist" gave chills down my spine. One of my favourite quotes of all time personally.

Ghost? Well, that's a surprise! I was sure it was going to be Ex-Aid since he was the 45th Anniversary Rider and the previous two Riders were Anniversary Riders as well. Never saw Ghost but I saw the TH-cam videos put up about it. All I can say is that it has a catchy Henshin Jingle.
Also. I see the bits and pieces that the writer of Ghost went on to create the pain-on-the eyes that's Kamen Rider Saber. Kamen Rider Saber: The Toku that makes "The Room" looks like a Shakespeare play.

Not as good as most Kamen rider but I managed to enjoy it on it’s highly limited merits, Takeru is a serviceable he no Kouta or Shinnosuke but he fill his role all the same
Some people call Ghost the worst Heisei Rider but I'd still rather watch this than most of the dreck on American television

It’s a shame it was too afraid of its own potential and ruined itself like Wizard due to family’s worried about their kids but then again Kamen Rider always had an edge to it. It wasn’t afraid to go places back than like Kuuga Agito and faiz
@@ZephyrBW Wizard basically shanked itself with it's own edginess though. Phantoms being born from despair has horrific implications, and making the final villain a literal serial killer was ballsy for a kid's show, especially if it was as toned down for the parents as you claim. Unfortunately, all it did was make the villain more evil, with little room for nuance.
Agito similarly drops the ball during its last quarter. Making the Unknown essentially horror movie villains makes for a neat monster of the week gimmick, but that's all it was, a gimmick. The payoff to all those killings being just that the Lord of Darkness was throwing a temper tantrum over his creations being tampered with is sorely lacking.
In Faiz, Orphenochs kill to sire more of their kind. That's a really cool concept.... too bad nothing is done with it in lieu of melodrama and misunderstandings, making it yet another gimmick.
Being edgy doesn't necessarily improve a show.

If so i would have agree after kuuga and agito Kamen Rider series did become a gimmick to sell its products. However, in terms of tone Kamen Rider always tackled harder subjects so having a serial killer doesn't surprise me.

Personnally, I hated the serie in the middle part when Takeru couldn't done anything. When the ennemies and even Makoto hit him, letting him on the floor. I don't hate Takeru, he has his behavour. But I didn't like how the scenario was disrespecting him. That was too much longer. We knew that Takeru wasn't enough mentally and physically strong but the scenario was slow. I didn't want to continue at the begining but I feel bad and finally finished it. After, that was better, less slow, more interesting. I liked how the ghosts was represented with the Illuminatis symbol, that was funny. Now, I like the show for its good parts. I know it isn't the best and I agree. Just, it isn't the worse either.
It's the writer's fault
Fukuda (Head writer) can't write worth a damn.
During that portion, the head writer was pulled from the series to write the movies, he returned towards the end.

Another season that started strong but ended up getting meh as it went on; whereas Saber, which also had the same writers, was the opposite. (Although it is said that it's because the budget meant for Ghost was siphoned for Amazons)
But let's appreciate the fact that he returned for us in the Saber×Ghost specials; especially when most Main Riders could not cuz they got too popular and could hardly return even if they want to. (Espada×Necrom, when?)

Ghost is definitely a flawed show, but I think a lot of it's reception comes from the fact that it came after two really good shows, Gaim and Drive. There are some definite flaws in it. A lot of arcs get stretched far longer they should and there are some "deus ex machinas" that come out of nowhere. At the same time, a lot of the characters are good though the protagonist himself is a tad bit bland and if you're looking for a slow-placed Rider show this would be one I'd recommend.

I feel like this is the Gundam Seed in the series. A lot of good things about it that doesn’t make it a bad show.
Personally, the main riders are some of my favorite from Hesei, dare I say, in the franchise.
And yet that seed is still successful than any AU series giving UC a run for its money.

I don’t understand why they went with the “Gamma” spelling for the Kaijin in this video. Aren’t their names suppose to translate as “Eye Devils”?
A typo, I imagine.

@@BetaGunslinger Not necessarily a typo. In some translations, the “n” can turn into a “m”. Like the kanji in Hammer spell out as “Hanmā”.
The thing is though, Ganma(Gamma), 眼魔, had the kanji for eye, “眼”. Which can be read as either “me” or “gan”. So I can’t really see how it can be read as “gam”.
The way I see it, it’s most likely another translation error.
I mean, it's a proper noun. Those usually arent translated, so that's most likely the case. As for why its Gamma and not Ganma, it's most likely, as you said, a translation error. Like, maybe it was just an auto correct that the translator didnt notice?

Ghost restored my enjoyment in Kamen Rider after the rotten car wreck that I experienced going through Gaim and Drive.
I love so much about this show. Few seasons of Rider are perfect, but the spirit and mentality of Ghost are so true to Kamen Rider. It's a beautiful show, despite its flaws.
Ghost is not a wasted potential , Everyone unpopular opinions are always negative my positive unpopular opinion is that Ghost is very good and Japanese fans are just so mean and stupid. I just prefer Ghost to be better than Faiz's 2nd half. I basically hated Toshiki Inoue and Inoue was infamous as hell because he did the worst written pieces of Kamen Rider media especially Faiz went to downhill and since Shirakura ruined Hibiki , Kiva was consider an average show. Fuck Inoue , That man is a whole hack. Inoue is an awful writer and I will never forgive him for giving Tsukasa's death such disrespect in Decade vs Zi-o. I Just hope that Inoue never writes Kamen Rider ever again because this getting worse and it was already flawed enough. No one should ever watch Toshiki Inoue's works , Inoue is a wasted potential.

my favourite special was the legendary rider souls which featured drive , w , gaim , fourze , ooo , wizard , Ichigo and heisei damashii
Very fun and entertaining.
