The guy wants to take the TukTuk through the Darien Gap. I'd say he is inviting a bit of challenge.
Was not lucky buddy…any guy driving a Tuk tuk in the Brazilian highway clams attention of the policeman: he gotta be high or drunk😂😂😂😂😂
In Brazil, if you are caught drunk during a breathalyzer test, your license will be revoked and you could be arrested. And breathalyzer tests are very common in roadblocks.
I've lived here 15 years and i've never been breath tested, and only three times have i been stopped and had my documents checked. Two of those times were outside my state. Here in Mato Grosso, the authorities don't like to work.
@@mikescudder4621 Very interesting. I'm from Rio de Janeiro, and here the police LOVES a breathalizer.
Especially during weekend and holiday nights, it is guaranteed to have several spots in the city where police will be stationed and stopping random cars to check documents and conduct breathalyzer tests.
@@whschopke98 They love it here bcs they like when you ask them to "dar um jeito" and end up bribing them so you don't get punished
@@whschopke98 When i travel to other states the behaviour of the police changes significantly. Sorry if i generalised my experience here to all the states! There is a local saying that the police won't stop you when its hot and sunny sun, the police also won't stop you in the rain either. In the cerrado its either 100% sun or 100% rain... the police have their salaries - why bother themselves with work!?
This was PRF. All the leftists in the comments are making it sound like Brazils police is like Rio de Janeiro.
Rio de Janeiro is the trashcan of Brasil in every aspect and their people and departments should never be a comparison point to anything Brazilian.
It's like you tell Skidrow is all of US.
I´m from Texas but been living in Brasil for 16 years. Love the place and the people and glad to see you visiting. Have a safe trip.
Man! Seat belt is quite serious subject here in Brazil!

Hey mate, a tip on Portuguese: when you pronounce a Spanish word with a d in the middle like "nada", try to pronounce it with a "hard 'd'" like the D in "dog". Those "soft Ds" that Spanish has, we don't have them, so when you say "nada" it's the same word in Portuguese, but pronouncing it in Spanish sounds like "na-a" to us. The same is valid for "comida", "bebida", any words with a D in the middle. Spanish has many (true) cognates but the phonemes is what kills our comprehension sometimes haha cheers!
Excelent recommendations!! Spot on. Tks

Be careful when driving at night on highways 99.9% of truck drivers are good professionals, but some are reckless with speed
Man, stop eating this kind of food. I know it's easier and tastes good but you will get sick. Eat proper food like rice and beans and some chicken and salad. If you see somewhere written "Marmitex" or "quentinha" you can ask for one. It's proper food and it comes in a kindda bow you can take with you and eat out.

The police officer was so astonished that didn't even know what or how to inspect the tuk tuk hehe.

Information on the requirement to wear a helmet is out of date. CONTRAN Resolution No. 940 OF 03/28/2022
Art. 1 This Resolution regulates the use of safety helmets for drivers and passengers of motorcycles, scooters, mopeds, motorized tricycles and motorized quadricycles.

Hello gringo.. I'm a truck driver here in Brazil and I'm following your adventure. I wish you good luck. 🤙🏻
I admire that despite some hardships along the journey you are always so cheerful, safe travels amigo!
This cobblestone road you took is actually a historic road called Estrada da Graciosa! It was the main road that connected the city of Curitiba and the coast of the satate of Paraná on the 19th century. Nowadays there is a much more modern road that most of traffic goes through. Estrada da Graciosa is really a tourist spot that connects the capital to the touristiic city of Morretes.
Jist a suggestion, you should ask if the police officer can speak English, maybe he/she can and that may avoid situations like , have you been drinking? Oh yes! Lol
As a Brazilian, I can say that something is wrong, but probably not even the police know how to frame this. Not having a belt is a problem in a car, and not having a helmet is a problem on a motorcycle. I would say that not having one of the two items is risky, even though I doubt that the police officer will study the law just to be able to fine you. I don't know how Brazilian legislation interprets a tuktuk.
As a tricycle. At least, he should be using a seat belt.

Great trip man!! You just climbed one of the most beautiful roads in the state of Paraná, the Estrada da Graciosa/PR 410. This was the only roadway connecting the coast of Paraná to its State capital city of Curitiba until 1968, when a modern highway was built, also around the mountains of the coastal hills of Brazill. The cobblestone pavement and the sharp curves just add to the beautiful scenario. I drive that classic road up and down every weekend, it's very relaxing. Have a good trip, and stay safe. Cheers!!
In São Paulo you should change the route. In São Paulo you should change the route to Santos where you have the largest port in Latin America and the Pelé football team. After that you can go to Rio along the coast, where you will see the most beautiful beaches and views of the São Paulo state.
In São Paulo, avoid going by tuk to the city center (I mean, the very center, República, Santa Efigência, Sé). It is a fantastic part of the city to explore, but it is much better and safer to take the subway and walk around.
After going to São Paulo, enjoy the state's north coast. São Sebastião, Ilha Bela, and Ubatua are amazing places.
I lived in the south region of Brazil for 3 years and leave exactly because the excessive rains. Floods, storms, cold as fck... And the rain! It rains everytime all along the year. 20 consecutive days of rain, 25, 30 days of rain without sun messes with your mood and your head. Sun is life.
