Im curious if the 3 sisters represents the 3 emotions in the game and Humphrey eating them is symbolism for "swallowing up your emotions" and burying them
Good question! Nearly everything in dream world is an amalgamation of what toys, games, memories, etc Sunny witnessed and experienced before... Well. I havent found the slime girl one yet, but i'm sure he has like a toy or something that inspired them to show up in his dreams.

OH NO THEY'RE HOT. Hum Speaking of these characters, you may have noticed: The theme of SPACE BOYFRIEND is composed by Jami Lynne and the theme of SLIME GIRLS is composed by Pedro Silva. Because these are their OMORI persona. This song has similarities with "Swirly 1000x" musically speaking. But we also find a similar situation : A group of bullies trying to take your money. No but seriously, we feel the ingenuity of the sisters in this banger created with the best parts of the game they can found like their body they can recreate with parts they want. It's also the only song that changes from 3/4 to 4/4 time signature while keeping the same tempo. This is not the ultimate battle boss song but it's very good.
Ok but fr the end of this level was probably more disturbing than most of the game. Like, the game over when you lose this boss? Holy shit. And Humphrey in general is just terrifying. It really gives off that end game vibe, y'know?
Playing through this boss fight I never realized how dang SUSPICIOUS it looked. I played it on switch, on a HUGE TV SCREEN, where anyone could see from a long distance what i was seeing. I was more worried about beating them than someone walking in on me and thinking something weirder was going on, I’m surprised nothing bad happened💀💀💀
I don’t see anyone mentioning it, but 0:31 - 0:47 is my favourite part of the track! It’s a relatively calm build up, the melody’s really nice, and the echo of the instrument is slightly reminiscent of an aquarium...
Haha, one of the main composers goes by the name Slime Girls, I see you game devs... Also Marina probably has my favorite design. Can't go wrong with that shark teeth. :P
Since the Deeper Well is much closer to Black Space than most other areas, the Sisters and their weirdly suggestive designs and dialogue (as well as the dialogue of some of their creations) are Sunny's heavily repressed not-really-family-friendly thoughts, and inability to comprehend his own attraction and feelings about people's bodies and relationships, since the only crushes that are implied to be there are Aubrey (mutual), and maybe Basil (one-sided). Sunny's idea of his friends is warped, his idea of self-love (Sweetheart) is warped, his idea of what Mari was like is warped, he's been a shut-in for years, and he may be repulsed by the idea of romantic relationships "going deeper", or he might be craving it.
Now that’s some big brain interpretations right there. I didn’t notice any of that during my first playthrough. Though, I must ask; what exactly did you have in mind when mentioning the dialogue of their creations? I didn’t remember anything particularly noteworthy from their dialogues.
@@brandonhk9917 Some of these creations have more positive reactions to violent, less affectionate words, the only example I can think of being the conveyor belts: They react positively to Kel's rude approach. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but it feels like Sunny may have a repressed enjoyment of degradation, but I'm not sure if it's about giving or receiving it.
Yeah for real!! When I first played this game, I thought the twist was going to be that Mari had abused Sunny and he repressed it. The constant imagery of hands reaching towards him or grasping him, "hands" being emphasized in My Time, the only non-Hero and Mari romances being distorted and with clear power imbalances, the Slime Girls being the only intentionally hot bosses who also want to literally own the main characters and/or sell their bodies, Omori's relationship with Aubrey being one in which he has little to no agency and his approval is limited to a thumbs-up... there's potentially a lot there. Personally I think Sunny's afraid of commitment. The Last Resort has another, more "adult" fear: capitalism. The contracts Mr. Jawsum has the kids at the playground sign rips away their freedoms and forces them into jobs they don't usually enjoy very much. His friends hate their jobs and want to escape them. Hero is the only exception -- Sunny would know he's gone off to college, and might worry that he likes it so much that he'd be willing to abandon his friends. At the time Mari died, he'd probably be old enough to start thinking about college and job opportunities in a more serious light, and this could genuinely cause some anxiety for Sunny. That, alongside the fear of being bound to a responsibility, would be terrifying for someone whose only commitment for the past 4 years was keeping himself functional and playing with his friends in the dream world. His relationship with Aubrey is just a reflection of his own perception of himself in his relationships. Omori takes initiative, but usually only after he is encouraged by his friends. His followups are entirely self-centered. He doesn't have to do much more than show up and go along with their plans; they will love him and dote on him, making sure that he is comfortable every step of the way. We know that Sunny wasn't the most talkative person even before Mari's death, so this might be a reflection of his insecurities about not being as present as, say, Kel. Or it might be wish fulfillment: for a quiet, anxious kid who doesn't like himself a lot, having friends who love him and will do anything for him (particularly after his real friends have long since given up on trying to contact him) is a wish come true. SO. Slime Girls. And also Sweetheart a little bit. Aside from Omori's lackluster relationship with Aubrey and Hero and Mari's absolute dream come true of a romance, every hint of romantic attraction in the game is a threat. Sweetheart wants to imprison Hero and his friends until her love is reciprocated; the Slime Girls want to keep Hero, Aubrey, and Omori as pets. I honestly don't know what to make of this. Maybe his parents had a really rocky relationship? Maybe he's just afraid that being in love with someone will reveal what he did and how he truly feels about himself. Either way, Sunny seems pretty intimidated by the prospect of dating someone.
@@vissersixty-nine6246 I also thought the twist was gonna be that Mari was abusive! But that was mostly because of that one scare after the Acrophobia segment. I also got spoiled that Something is a reflection of Mari, and thought "yeah no why is mari portrayed as this scary-ass monster something is clearly up". I can see why you thought the way you do, but I'm leaning more towards just the idea that Sunny has absolutely no actual idea of how attraction or relationships work. He clearly liked Aubrey, and made her like him in the dream world, to the point where she would constantly focus on him, but during that one segment at the school in Blacker Space, he has. No idea what to actually _do_ when they finally are together "alone". I do agree that Sunny is afraid of commitment and of being proactive, as Aubrey so often is the one to constantly flutter around him, the one initiating interactions. It's genuinely really sad, how with the context of the first day outside, it feels like maybe Sunny's portrayal of Aubrey is so exaggerated and sweet, possibly beyond what she was even like as a person, because he could have seen her out the window, picking fights, having fun with her new friends, and he just couldn't accept that she changed. I do wish there's wasn't an implication that Aubrey actually secretly reciprocated his feelings in that one bit before they visit the treestump, it just would feel a little more cathartic if she really did change, and only thought of Sunny as a friend, and he actually accepted that. One more reason to move on from Headspace into actually living!
My headcanon is that the slime sisters irl counterparts are a music group. Given who they are named after, and that they have such a banger theme, I can definitely see sunny listening to their music and then imagining versions of them in headspace.

While you guys were worrying about your mom walking into the room during this boss fight, my mom and I were playing together! The only thing she was shocked about was how much damage Kel did (we one shotted the boss)
HELP i remember playing this on the tv and my dad was watching it like nothing was wrong, he was just like “ok this time he should heal the… omori”, “wow, that one does a lot of damage!”, “that one’s aubrey? ok use her more” “the bouncing ball one is also very good” and stuff like that, it was really fun lol
In the original omori blog omori’s computer would always show pornography and the tissues were for his ‘life jam’. Apparently really early in development the story revolves around some waifu he made in his mind that kinda like a squid that haunted him but the story was changed
@@user-lc3on9fd9m Let's just say I didn't spoil myself every secret for my first playthrough. So I went to Orange Oasis but unknowingly missed that boss.
You’ve got people saying they’d make good waifu materials, you’ve got people saying they like the music, but I just want to point out how there are instruments that sound like they come from Super Mario Kart
pretty crazy sunny can hyper realize a banger track, squid waifu’s & symbolism for swallowing up emotions… all in his dreams preforming turn based combat
What did sunny even look at to inspire the slime girls showing up in his dreams??? is this a reference to how in the omori blog from several years ago say that omori was...umm...considerably hornier?
Me: Ah crap, I'm screwed. *health and juice swaps* *party now has a ton of health and no juice* Me: Nevermind then. (Also, words cannot express how much I love 1:22)
Everyone are talking about Snuuy having hot squids in his dreams, but I am here to say that the music is so nice and1:22 is causing me to ascend Edit: wait there are actually lots of comments about it
This song just goes hard, it's a classic Pedro banger but has that signature aquatic spin on it. The slightly grainy piano and bubble sound effects in the intro to really set up the battle against these Slime Girls. The chorus in the intro and making the melody at 0:20 feel like actual sirens luring you in. The way this song switch from ethereal yet overwhelming to grainy and brutal, especially highlighted at 0:47 is awesome and perfectly portrays the terrifying beauty of these sea witches/scientists, and it all combines at 1:18! Also fun fact, Slime Girls was a project Pedro was part of, so they composed their own boss theme!
This would sound very bad out of context if I tried to explain where this song plays. Like “oh this plays when the trio of slime girls tries to enslave you as their pet”
telling someone my favorite boss fight in OMORI is the tentacle women is not really helping how they perceive me

While you guys were worrying about your mom walking into the room during this boss fight, my mom and I were playing together! The only thing she was shocked about was how much damage Kel did (we one shotted the boss)
Damn, did u finish the game ?
@@yoavcohen120 We just beat the game yesterday, we got the good ending first and then went back to get the bad ending!

Why are they in Sunny's mind?
...Those tissues weren't just for wiping away sorrows, were they.
They were for his sorrows...and his tears
In the original omori blog omori’s computer would always show pornography and the tissues were for his ‘life jam’. Apparently really early in development the story revolves around some waifu he made in his mind that kinda like a squid that haunted him but the story was changed

I didnt expect the swap out of nowhere and found myself with less than 10hp on everyone
You’ve got people saying they’d make good waifu materials, you’ve got people saying they like the music, but I just want to point out how there are instruments that sound like they come from Super Mario Kart
Also the very start of the actual fight theme makes me think of fucking breakcore
@@gavindillon1486 Cause it is breakcore, with maybe some drum and bass. the composers know their shit 👌
Also from Kirby. It sounds so much like the dark matter theme from dreamland 2 or 3

i would like to mention that this fight is happening in the deeper parts of his mind. Sunny hid his waifus because he was emberessed he had them💀
This truly feels like if kirby music and splatoon music had a child.
And i like it
pretty crazy sunny can hyper realize a banger track, squid waifu’s & symbolism for swallowing up emotions… all in his dreams preforming turn based combat
I absolutely adore the random mood swings in this song

シンプルに隠れた名曲だわ
This is great!!
1:21 elevates this song SO much.
0:59 It's SNES Bowser's castle instruments, I'm not dreaming
No i hear it too. first time i heard this song i immediately thought of super mario kart XD
Ohh yeah
1:22 holy shit why is this so good
This would sound very bad out of context if I tried to explain where this song plays. Like “oh this plays when the trio of slime girls tries to enslave you as their pet”
The part at 0:48 goes hard
