As a kid growing up in the 70s in Washington D. C., watching Soul Train at 5 pm every Saturday was mandatory. Thank you for doing this. I remember dancing all night, sweating my ass off, because every song was better than the last and there was just no way to sit one out. Best times of my life (also: roller boogie).
We saw KC and the Sunshine Band back about 25 or years ago at a casino venue. We had a absolute blast !!! There's was nobody sitting !! Everybody was up and dancing and singing !! People so happy and forgetting their troubles. For a couple of hours, we were all teenagers back in the 70's !!!
Wow! People looked so stylish and fashionable back then but didn't have all their bits exposed or flying about everywhere unlike nowadays! Kept it classy!

You know, this is what people who were young in the 70’s are likely most grateful for…the fact that they weren’t afraid to be enthusiastic and engaged and actually could have a good time without staring at a phone or needing to be constantly thrilled. The young generation today is perpetually bored, sounds miserable.
I was 13 years old in 1970. The perfect age to grow up in that era of great music. I was in my 20’s for most of the 80’s so I got to enjoy that era as well!
My brother n sisters would watch soul train on channel 11 every sat morning ( when Dad didn't have us doing chores) all the time... we would practice doing the dances ❤❤❤❤❤. To bad their isnt a show like that now 😶

I never like it when other music than the original is placed under the Soul Train Line routine. But... watch at 0:42, and look what Jeffrey Daniel does. Man, that's outstanding! Jeffrey and Shabba-Doo were my favourite male dancers at Soul Train. Those two always stood out from the rest. :-)

I sure do remember those days. Grew up in the 60s and Danced in the 70s. Those were the days when America was still a free Country and people weren't robbing and killing people. Drunk Driving was at .14 not .08 which is cut in half from what it used to be. And no Homeless people either because it wasn't allowed. Crime just didn't go on like today's rate of crime. I sure miss those days.
