@@aurijitchatterjee2937 I guess that's possible. I also just don't like the whole class system. Everyone gets a stim, which makes the fast movement and accurate positioning more forgiving. A bubble that makes your weapon shoot faster? That's just really dumb, especially in an objective mode. One class can move quicker than the others? There's a wallhack class mechanic? I don't know. I just think in a game that is supposed be equal footing and based around movement and gunplay for the skill ceiling, a class system is dumb and makes the entire point of the games base mechanics more irrelevant, especially when there's a lot of tight corners/spaces in the map design. The portal locations also seem way more limited. Maybe I will be mistaking and the game will be better once it's fleshed out more. And maybe I'm wrong and the class system is what the game needs to become popular. I don't think it'll do well though.
TTK is short enough to let bots get easy kills but the movement and portal tech is such that there is a high skill ceiling. I hope many people play this!
i think theres potential that shorter ttk compared to splitgate 1, because it will give enemies less time to react, will reward attacking in an unpredictable way, which could mean good portal plays, rather than just 50/50 spraying each other i could be wrong tbh i have no idea, but we'll have to wait and see how it plays
They heavily pushed the design aspects of this game and its paid off. This game looks absolutely amazing. Great UI, game design, animations. Like this looks better than some AAA games (probably way worse in optimization, but thats expected) which makes sense as they don't need to go through the hassle of hundreds of corporate reviews to dull the game look down. What a difference between this and Splitgate 1.
It's not like AAA games a good at optimisation either LMAO. Look at cyberpunk when it released, all Ubisoft games basically, All modern CODs and their ever increasing file sizes etc etc. Funnily indie games I've played appear to be more polished and optimized than AAA games.
The primary reason why I like this even though it's my first time seeing it is they brought back something that felt like the OG halo with dual wielding weapons and that's a whole vibe and mood.
This game does halo better than halo. Felt more like halo 2-3. Split gate 1 is a blast. Has the classics too. Swat, Infection. Fiesta, Gun Game. Definitely worth checking out.

been having fun with the spectre divide playtest, steelhunters is like a sick transformers game sorta that were finally getting, that one match of mechabreak was fun, and now this looks awesome too. the shooters are back baby.

I was a huge fan of slitgate 1. People stopped playing because they couldn’t understand how to properly use the portals. But the game ran so smooth and the gunplay was amazing. Glad to see they didn’t give up on it.

Splitgate was a brilliant game although it definitely has a high skill ceiling and tends to intimidate people. But i really like the new overhaul, looks more vibrant than the last game.
I wish this game's developers would try their hand at developing a battle royale, I feel that would be a very unique and innovative take on a BR. A BR with jetpacks and portals and custom loadouts. Its one of the best FPS games out there. I played the first game extensively.
I must say, where I do hate the hero shooter aspect of this game... This is probably the closest we've gotten to a Titanfall and I can't wait for the full release. Time to put another 500 hours into this game, just like the first one
Very true. Now that I think about it, the gunplay felt very Titanfall pilot-like minuse wallrunning and less comparable to Halo this time. Definitely feels like it has more of it's own identity this time around!
Honestly I think the game looks really cool and splitgate 1 was underrated for its time, but also overwhelming for a majority of the players. Having to strategically think and use portals inbetween your shooting sessions is just too much for the average player to deal with.
I agree in regards to Splitgate 1 but there seems to be much less nuance with the portal placement this time around, at least on the maps I played where there are less walls to place your portals. I think this was a good decision for the longevity of the game, though I'm sure the most advanced SG1 players would prefer the older maps but it opens the game up to more players and still leaves room for a decent skill gap but one that isn't completely unachievable for the average gamer 👍

A neat trick I learned playing the first, is in that room at 15:02 there's that drop-down part? I put my portals on that wall, one on top and the other in the bottom. Using the floor as my "shield", while using the portal to hit the enemy/know ahead of time if someone's coming up. Wanted to share that idea :) Also, this new version is giving me Titanfall 2 vibes and I'm loving it
Keep doing what you're doing Tom. You get 10-20x the comments of similar size creators for a reason, we appreciate you're candor and humor which is lacking in the "content creator" space these days. There will always be 1%-5% garbage people in the comments but the fact that so many of us are willing to take our time to comment positively hopefully helps to drown out the bullshit that comes with comment sections across the board 👍 My only complaint is i want more content lol ggs
There is a good point regarding portals and skill gap. I imagine there will be a no portal mode which I can see maybe killing the portal mode a little. For a lot (not all) 30+ player, dealing with portals late at night after work would be hard to sustain for long periods lol. Wish the game was coming out a little sooner since I have been done with Halo Infinite for a little bit and this looks like a great new game to transition to. The game for an Alpha looks really good.
People who make that assumption about you don't know you and are already gone I think, the real ones stick around and appreciate your tastes in gaming mate. Also, Splitgate 2 looks immense.
The skill gap and how fast paced split gate was is the reason I loved it so much it rewarded players for getting good and I've always preferred faster paced when shooters which is why I have the unpopular opinion of loving modern warfare 2019 and vanguard so much because they were fast they weren't slow you had to constantly be thinking and the person who was the better straighter shooter with faster reaction times always won the gun fight I really hope split gate 2 holds the same style of fast-paced quick reaction time will always win over slow methodical thinking like the original game did super hyped
I enjoyed the first Splitgate, but it didn't have much staying power for me or my friends, didn't do that well long term. Died off quickly, it just felt shallow, but it was a quality game. Hopefully it'll be do better this time, this looks great.

it runs at 144fps on my shitty 2050 and 8gigs of ram. so far it ran better than any AAA

I literally never used portals and still won most of the time I don’t think portals are that necessary
