His wife, Mayte, was the inspiration for the song. How sweet is that? Yes, for the video the concept was that every woman is beautiful and can be anything they want. It’s female empowerment.

Never once in the history in the world and anyone ever say Prince can't sing. LOL. I saw him in the early 2000s and besides his amazing singing abilities, what he could do with instruments is just unbelievable. The show I saw he played guitar. He played drums. He played bass. He played piano and played them all well

No rational person ever told Prince he could not sing. He was playing in his band since his high school days. From the very first of his songs on the radio when he was around 18 or so his range was from ear piercing to deep base voice. He has the full spectrum. He can play every genre of music and he created his own genre; the Minneapolis sound. He even has a 'country' song. The look on your face when you heard his different ranges was funny. That is what made it obvious that you barely scratched the surface of his music.

Bisscute asks for deep vocals and she gets deep vocals. Prince had a very deep voice if you listen to his interviews... he could sing in any range pretty much... he could dance... he wrote endless hits for many famous singers.... played nearly every instrument at a high level that made some of the greatest musicians jaw drop... was a really good actor... marched to his own beat visually... and he was the lover to some of earths most beautiful women... He lived a great life in his little time on earth.

This makes me miss the 90s. Personally, I like that he used his falsetto a lot in this particular song. He usually sings in his lower/mid ranges throughout his songs, so this is kind of a nice treat showcasing his falsetto and some really low notes. FYI, Prince has one of the widest ranges of any popular male vocalist (E2 to B6). Wider than Freddie Mercury's, even.

This just scratches the surface, if you dive in you will see the unlimited talent in both song writing, music composition, vocals, dancing, and being the master of just about every instrument he picked up and played. For many of us who grew up listening to his music from the late 70s to even now, tough to find a current artist who is comparable.

A gorgeous song from his most underrated album IMHO, “The Gold Experience”. It dropped in the mid 90s after he did that name-change-to-a-symbol, so a lot of folks ignored it - but it’s packed with great songs and amazing playing from front to back. It’s my favorite Prince record, just edging out “Purple Rain”. (BTW that narrator at the beginning appears several times throughout the LP, introducing different songs. Nice touch.😊)

BTW you are right that Prince had a chip on his shoulder, he definitely knew how good he was. But it worked for him and his style. As Charlie Murphy said, "Prince was the only guy who could show up at your party, in frills, and steal your girlfriend. Then steal her clothes, then steal someone else's girl in your girlfriend's clothes.” He was a contemporary of Michael Jackson and they had a bit of a rivalry going on, two top end talents.

I never comment anywhere, but I've very much enjoyed your work and Prince was what I grew up with. There are a great many eras and styles you could cover from him: Early years are raw: party up and Do Me Baby would be great. 1999 album try DMSR or Little Red Corvette. Purple Rain try the Beautiful Ones. The Sign O' the Times album - perhaps the cover track. Dig a bit into this - he is a rare superstar that had natural technical musical ability, crazy work ethic, creativity out the door, and all with a singular style

If you love the deeper baritone vocal style, I am surprised you don't explore more Type O Negative.
There's a lot of sexy stuff from the Bloody Kisses and October Rust albums.
The only drawback is a lot of the stuff between 1993 and 1999 is really slow and sludgy, very doomy and dark. Only a few songs are upbeat, like My Girlfriend's Girlfriend and Cinnamon Girl.
Other tracks are a little more mid-tempo, or at least powerful to offset the slower pace. These might include Be My Druidess, Love You To Death, Wolf Moon, and Christian Woman. Some other good ones are Nettie (a vocal intro you'll melt for, I guarantee) with a good steady pace, and Stay Out Of My Dreams (very controversial lyrics there, but maybe it will align with your "smut books", lol)

Judas Christ, a person can't even post a simple fucking comment anymore, without some internet trolltard accusing the person of some weird-ass hypersimp behavior or whatever.

Bisscute, if my comments are a problem for you - like if I am "too flirty" or whatever - and it bothers you, let me know. I'll stop.
The last thing I wanna do is weird you out or come off like some internet stalker creep or whatever.
They seem to be upsetting "certain people" based on the comments he/she/it keeps replying with, so now I don't know what the hell to think.
      Sorry if there's any problem.

LOL - Great reaction. Actually, he mostly sings in his natural Tenor or deeper voice.
Also, you guessed Correct! About the stepping on his Toes. There is literally a Meme! which uses princes famous "Screech!" for what it sounds like when someone Steps on your Toes!! (They clipped the sound from the opening of his other Classic song: Kiss )
