None of the creators admitted to their kinks in any interviews, and given how tv is collaborative, it's likely different eoisodes had different writers so it's hard to know what was or wasn't considered to be sexy. I think some parts were intended to be sexy (costume changes and shots of the girls butts), but the transformations probably weren't as every transformation is standard in fiction. I think it just gets labeled as fetish fuel as it's women in latex suits undergoing transformations versus if it's superman in the silver age. Overall I feel it unintentionally shaped the kinks of an entire generation.

Fun fact: the dog from Minerva’s first cartoon was actually meant to be a reoccurring character like skippy or dr scratchansniff, but he only one appearance because she’s only got two
Oh Minerva, you are to this show to what Krystal is to Star Fox. Characters with so much plotintential but was utterly screwed over by gross incompetence.
I think they took it just a little too far, but I think otherwise, she isn’t a bad character to have on the show. Kids don’t see characters like that and think too themselves,” Oh she’s sexy,” but rather, just see her as another Animaniac. I think the trick to having a solid character like this is to balance the “sexy” jokes with other traits as well. In this case, they put too much emphasis on her being attractive and not much else to make her feel dynamic and likable
To be fair, alot of the Animaniacs aren't written to be likable. The Warner's whole schtick is they torment and harass innocent bystanders for their own amusement. Slappy Squirrel is an old curmudgeon who is a functional sociopath. The Brain wants to take over the world. Chicken Boo is just a chicken who pretends he's not. The Hip Hippos are fat and hedonistic. Mindy exists to make Button's life miserable. Pesto constantly attacks Squit over perceived slights. Katie Kaboom explodes violent or becomes a raging hormone monster. The Animaniacs all have strong personalities, but few of them are written to be symapthetic characters. Generally they are pitted against even less sympathetic antagonists to make you root for the lesser evil.
Before I actually watched her skits, I thought she was gonna be like a female Bugs Bunny, kinda like what Slappy the Squirrel was when she was younger. I think she COULD have worked if she was given more to do than just look pretty. I mean they already had Hello Nurse for jokes like this, so even if it didn't go as far as it did, it still woulda been kinda pointless.
Very much agreed, a female Bugs would have been a sight at the time. Hell, they could have built off what Babs was doing in Tiny Toons, I'm sure people wouldn't have mind.
@@Thomperfan Oh I agree! With all the times the show liked to mention how high her IQ was and all the cool stuff about her Wakko spoke about in the song about her, it's frustrating she never got her OWN episode with her as the focus rather than Scratchansniff for once! If she did get her own episode, someone please let me know, I don't think I saw every episode of the original series 🤣
I had a potential cartoon idea for minerva. Perhaps she attempts to seduce someone she wants to get something from (money, food, dress, luxury item, etc.), but the man she attempts to seduce doesn't fall for her. Maybe he's gay, or isn't into her in particular (he's into redheads, brunettes, chubby women, muscular women, older women, etc.) and has to use her wits to get what she wants. It would be interesting to see what she does to get somethibg when her looks fail and how she feels when a man isn't into her.
I know wonder what it would be like if she ran into women that are lesbian/bi/pansexual. Or if the hunks she drools over elicit that response from gay/bi/pansexual men.
or they can show that accutal men who have a good head on there shoulders know what games shes playing and she doesn't get what she wants despite her looks and only gets the suckers "that are the unattractive men" to do her bidding. showing that you cant always get what you want though looks alone. hell make slappy appear in some skits depsite with minerva her age she gets all the hotties and have a good time with them.
I still love Minerva Mink! I fondly remember her back when the show debuted and her comic strips from The Animaniacs issues! I felt like she was another modern take on Tex Avery's Red Hot Ridding Hood! ❤
As a kid I kinda got the whole “she’s the sex appeal character” and didn’t really think anything of it. Hell I still have my vhs of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, battered as it is. When my mom saw Minerva and was starting to make a fuss my dad (smooth devil) said to her “what’s the problem? She’s a cute blonde like you?” and nothing more was said about Miss Mink.
@@1Hol1Tiger depends on the media, if it’s a kid’s cartoon they are allowed to be feminine but they aren’t allowed to be overtly sexual. Dark day for media I know.
If you suggested that idea to the show creators they would call you a neo nazi and fire you. the media has really become bad we got to make our own cartoons and upload them to youtube. or watch anime.
I forgot that part of her schtick was that she went crazy over guys as well. That was a novelty. 😊 Also, I am both surprised as how sexual she was allowed to be in a cartoon... Yet also, supportive her presence. It's a strange position to be in, but I currently don't know how to put it into words.
I always liked Minerva and think she would’ve done fine if they brought her back considering the wild stuff the original series got away with. I think the new show could really use her presence especially with some tweaking.
What reasons did Rita and Runt have for not getting more episodes in later seasons? I'm a girl and honestly loved Minerva mink since I was a kid, but didn't realize she only had 2 episodes. She had such an impact despite being such a minor character. Her personality leaves a lot to be desired, but it made her fit in with the rest of the maniacs and she was pretty to look at. Young me wanted to grow up to be as pretty! LOL
For Rita and Runt, the reason I heard was Rita was voiced by Bernadette Peters, a Broadway legend and she was an expensive hire to maintain. The other rumor is that runt mocked people with mental disabilities. The reason most likely to be true was Bernadette Peters though. It’s the reason you hardly see A list stars do voice work for tv shows and video games. The A list Star may want a big pay check, but doing voices for video games and tv shows doesn’t bring in a huge paycheck.
@@elysiabarr425 If Runt was the reason was a silly reason, truth be told. Every single of Animaniacs is not a cartoon only, he or she is a caricature. Brain is a caricature of overly ambitious persons. Pinky is a caricature of the intellectual innocents. Slappy is a caricature/jab at washed over/past their time prime actors. Runt is a caricature of oblivious guys. Minerva is a caricature of sex symbols. The Warner bros. are caricatures of the famous toons of yesteryear and so on...
@@jacksonpeds5298 that’s why I think it was more likely Rita. Like I said, Bernadette Peters was expensive to hire and couldn’t keep up with the pay check
I'm a woman and I also think Minerva is pretty entertaining. She's probably not somebody I'd get along with if she were real, but she also ended up getting hoisted by her own petard in the conclusion of her two shorts, so it isn't like she ever "won" or got away with her behavior. ETA: Well, "Moon Over Minerva" wasn't an unhappy ending for her, but still, it isn't like the show ever said her behavior was fine or anything. I dunno, I always viewed her as being like a Kelly or Peg Bundy type (money-grubbing, shallow, distracted by anything with big muscles and good hair 😄). It surprised me to see how polarizing she is. Every single female character doesn't need to be a role model or upstanding citizen. Sometimes I just wanna laugh, y'know? And yeah, I like her design too.
Honestly, given what was in Animaniacs, I'm surprised she was the only character that was banned. Hell, Buttons and Mindy while insanely cute, was a literal celebration of child neglect and that's been one of the most requested segments that people want to see back in the reboot.
I loved Minerva and really loved the entire thing of her going nuts over wills transformation. It made me happy seeing a female character act like how all male characters acted when seeing her.
Very insightful and answers the question why she was barely seen in the show. On a related note, you should do a follow up segement called "The Death of Sally Acorn" from Sonic. Only difference is that she was inteligent and tech savvy while also being attractive.
I think the writers' initial goal was Minerva was to make her a call back to the Tex Avery classic cartoons, which had VERY sexually explicit gags (like Red Hot Riding Hood and the Wolf), and to see how far the censors would let them go with her. But the censors got scared and demanded her character be cut back significantly. Had they not, I imagine the writers would have fleshed Minerva out more. On the surface she looks like a 1-note sex joke, but there's more going on with Minerva under the good. It's heavily implied she's lonely and doesn't like being hit on, but at the same time she herself is quite shallow, easily swayed by attractive guys. She only really got 2 shorts so there wasn't much chance for her character to be explored or fleshed out, much as characters in Animaniacs got at least.
I liked her Minerva mink I think it’s good to see her in a comic book too yes despite it not capturing the 90s cartoon character however I don’t think it’s always possible to do that with anything we loved as 90s kids
I actually kinda remember her having a cameo in looney tunes comics as well, I think it was a daffy parody based off the Troy movie and Minerva appeared as the human goddess Minerva, then gets tossed overboard by daffy lol
I think I like the way they don't make her entirely this vixen with complete control or intelligence. They give her these Masculine sort of flaws you'd only see in male character, like the way she goes absolutely bonkers over an attractive man, or even her backstory. From what I heard, growing up she was considered an ugly duckling. That's probably why she's so shallow, and harsh with her rejections.
Once I learned what an actual mink looked like, I was like "Wow, almost none of that's in Minerva's design! If she looked more like one of those maybe I'd have found her more attractive" Minerva's design actually translates very well to a horse. It's that tail matching the "mane".
Whether it was by bad luck, or inconvenient circumstances, I unfortunately never saw the "Minerva Mink" episode segments as a child when "Animaniacs" originally aired in the 90's on the "KidsWB" block of the "WB" network (when it was still around); (though I always did wonder who that light blonde haired, white furred, animal girl in a red dress was in the show's opening at that time was, as I apparently NEVER saw the episode segments that featured her as a side character, OR a background character either). Fortunately, thanks to discovering DeviantArt (yes, I know what many of y'all think of that site, but it does have its upsides), I finally discovered, and learned about Minerva Mink shortly after doing so in 2008; which naturally led me to finally finding and watching her "Animaniacs" episode segments online.
My mom was definitely one of those angry moms who wrote to the network. She HATED Minerva. But, surprisingly, didn't ban me from watching the whole series like she usually did when she caught something inappropriate. My parents liked Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain, so they didn't want to ban the show. She just told me not to watch those episodes. And surprisingly, she knew Minerva wasn't a main character and was OK with the rest of the series. The same could not be said for lots of other cartoons I wanted to watch.
For me minerva falls flat, I find some of the takes hilarious and it feels one note, maybe if we saw her as more her as a character, I think she'd have potential. She doesn't connect with me as I don't find her sexy. That's a problem Ms. Fanservice characters run into with certain viewers, not everyone thinks they're sexy and they may not be fond of them if they aren't sexually into them. Like how gay men/straight women can feel towards someone like minerva mink or hello nurse. They may find them one note and boring because they won't find them sexy. Or if your tastes in women don't swing in that direction.
One thing I enjoyed about shows like Animaniacs and Tiny Toons was that their leading ladies were every bit as loony as their male counter parts. What made characters like Lola bunny from the og Space Jam so boring was that she was not only the token female but given no personality outside of that, when compared to a cast of quirky guys. Dot, Minerva, Babs Bunny, Fifi ect were all just as fun, silly, and flawed as the guys and that's what made them entertaining to watch. At least Lola's reboot characterization makes her more loony and fun to watch.
6:47 - I totally agree. Wilford should've appeared in more episodes. I really like Wilford. Newt's an okay character, too; even though he did more appearances in the show and in the comics. I've always had mixed feelings about Minerva. She may be sexy, but she's not a good character. She's vain, materialistic, self-centered, and sometimes mean.
I do feel Minerva had potential for more appearance, the second short and the comics were proof of that. I can agree that the shorts certainly pushed the innuendos a bit too far, but compared to the more risqué comics and other infamous innuendoes from the show, it’s tame in comparison. At the very least, she remains pretty popular, and won’t be forgotten any time soon. Also, am I the only one who doesn’t mind, and actually kinda likes, Katie Kaboom?
I thought Minerva was forgettable, but that's mainly just due to the fact that she only had two feature skits in the cartoon. It did always sort of confuse me that she barely ever appeared when the show originally aired. I just remember those ongoing rumors that there were other Minerva Mink shorts completed for the show, but just left on the cutting room floor because of how risque the character was. Really interested in getting confirmation one way or the other on that.
To be fair, most of the Animaniacs were forgettable, or 1-note jokes. For every Warner Siblings, Pinkie & The Brain, or Slappy Squirrel, there was a Buttons & Mindy, Katie Kaboom or Hip Hippos. Most of them didn't come back for good reason. They only have 1 joke that cannot carry over to multiple shorts.
It’s kinda sad that she only had a few episodes. I freakin loved her wild/ Tex Avery libido effect reactions at any given situation. They cracked me up every time. 😂
Minerva Mink, Trance Gemini, 7of9, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and others among various *awakening* characters for various 90s boys. Twas a different time.
Kids have more sexual awareness then we adults seem to realize or remember about when we were kids. Kids did get a lot of the sexual endinuendo jokes a bit more than we expect and learned to relate particular features and actions to attractive sexual traits did have an influence. While they could have done more and better with Minerva on the show. I think sex appeal was just a low bar to keep adults entertained. While the kids were not so much entertained themselves, however did get influence by the story and imagery. If the parents saw what was going on, then they may have some extra work to do.
I also think that the character of Minerva was teaching them a lesson they would need in the future: be kind to other people regardless of their looks, treat others like you want to be treated, and that it's okay to be confident, not vain. It also was a good example of how some people would use their looks to manipulate others -- IIRC, sexy female characters were often shown in a positive light (like, the cartoon protagonist would go through hell and back just to win the hot girl's favor) or resisting the advances of protagonists. Minerva was one of the first female cartoon characters who would openly use her sex appeal for her own selfish means -- and it's extremely refreshing.
It depends on the person i knew most of it by the time i first watched this .but i was also reading scientific books about nuclear physics at age 3 so i was not normal.
@@yotvvan2472 The difference is sexuality is an instinctive trait. Kids can spot people who are more attractive than others using cues such as sexual characteristics.
Yea I dunno about that. I didn't understand song lyrics or most innuendo in cartoons until I rewatched them. I think some kids just don't think like that. It's part of why I think you don't need to censor much. A lot of kids just won't get it. (Still think it should he censored if it can directly hurt people/encourages hate/targeting a specific thing or people etc etc). Serious stuff.
I feel like overtime they could revamp her character and given much more and taken bits and pieces from her comic book and cartoon adaption and blending it together.or do like the looney tunes show make her pretty and wacky like lola
Honestly, I liked her and Katie. I would happily rewatch their skits over Slappy the squirrel and Rita and Runt. You guys are right in saying that if we could have seen more with her and wilfred wolf, that would have been very interesting. It also would have been very interesting to see what other foes they would have put her against. And how the character would have eventually evolved.
Love Minerva. She is crazy and fun to watch. 🎉sexuality seems to be always viewed worse than violence in the media industry. I still wish she had been given more episodes. With a bit less of the horny behavior and more of a look at her actual personality.
I think it would have been funny if they brought her back for the reboot and made her a twitch streamer. That would be modern and still completely relevant to her character; a lot of comedic opportunities to be had as well. And if you wanted to make it wholesome, at the end show that she she's one of those streamers that actually has a boyfriend and it's Wilford.
It always comes down to the same thing: it wasn't uncomfortable for kids, it was uncomfortable for the adults who were attracted to her and didn't like that they were. Guaranteed they also ignored all the old school sexual characters Including Bugs in Drag.
"Buttons and mindy" is not a "stinker" it's based on classic cartoons where one character absent-mindedly walks through dangerous situations and doesn't get injured and another character tries to rescue them from that danger and winds-up getting injured for doing that it's a staple and pretty funny
Minerva although shallow and vain definitely awakened a lot of young lad’s sexuality’s but it was also important for young boys to learn not every pretty face hides a pretty heart
Animaniacs: Toeing the line Minerva: Crossing that line That's pretty much it. Minerva is essentially the worst parts of Pepe Le Pew. You put up with Pepe Le Pew because it was at least somewhat interesting to see people run from a skunk, and there ARE funny reactions to that, but the rest was... meh. Minerva somehow is more one note than Pepe Le Pew too.
One of the key problems with Mineva was that she was written as an antagonist, not a protagonist. She was shallow, self-centered and only concerned about her own whims...which was not much. There wasn't much to her except the sexuality. Maybe they should have put her in a more modern setting, having to get a job, bills and such, with a female opposite to play off of rather than just males to fawn over her. Like say, a not as "attractive" but still cute and far more rounded female that gets the attention of the "hunk" Mineva eventually loses it over, or gets the job Mineva wants by being a hard worker.
I LOVED Minerva! The skits were so funny. I had no idea Katie Kaboom replaced her, I loved those as well personally. Such a shame some parents just go after tv shows executives instead of forbidding their kids from watching things. My parents weren't like that. If we weren't allowed to watch something, they'd tell us and we wouldn't.
Its funny how wee called sexists but they erase female characters because theyre ..... pretty? Hell look at ms bellem who was the smartest character in ppg and the one that kept the city together, you cant even say that she was just fan service
Wanna know what I think, is the very worst thing about everything that has happened with this bit character and her cartoons? Julie Brown killed it!(Scar:-"life's not fair, is it"?) If only a time machine.
I wish that in a far distant future the only thing left of our civilization is the picture we see at 13:17 (furry marrying Minerva) and future civilization have to somehow explain it. I would love to hear their speculations.
Minerva should get her own show, a documentary to how her design and characteristics had to be dummed down. And her personal opinion on the bullshit of sensorship, plus how ideotic it was for them to go after her when hello nurse was MUCH
I always loved Minerva Mink and I felt like she one of iconic sexiest characters. I was kinda sad Minerva Mink only had two episodes I was she had more than two.
These dull as dishwater executives and censors have always been the bane of these fun concepts. Minerva Mink and Hello Nurse suffered the same fate, but even before them, characters like Janine from the real Ghostbusters back in the 80s had censors transform her from a sexy brooklynite to a ditsy nanny like motherly character. I'm not even in it for the characters sex appeal because I'm gay (yes Wilfred Wolf's transformations did it for me!) But I just liked the characters of Minerva, Hello Nurse and Janine because their sexy appeal gave them a fun character dynamic. They even had in an Animanaics comic how Hello Nurse was a secret agent and super intelligent spy who was secretly the smartest character on the show, loved this concept, and they didn't need to stop her sexy appearance to make it happen.
I don't really like characters whose deal is mostly, if not only how only attractive they are/stuff in that area. It feels shallow, which is as you've said in her character. Especially in a cartoons aired primarily to kids. It's a bit uncomfortable.
I honestly feel like Minerva would work better as her own separate adult show just because obviously she’s generally going to appeal to a much older audience and if it’s a show specifically targeted towards adults, they can get away with a lot more
I think for why characters like Minerva and Hello Nurse appear less now is how they can feel one note now, especially in an age where female characters are complex characters who exist as something beyond a love interest/sex object. As well as how they don't resonate with everyone. With the rise of knowledge of male homosexuality and straight female sexuality, it's clear that a sexy women who exists to be a sexy women won't connect with everyone, because it's more clear now that not just straight women will be immune to their sexiness. Even some straight/bisexual men may not find her attractive. It's clear that not everyone will find her attractive and thus it's harder to sell her to everyone. I don't think all women shouldn't be designed to be less sexy. Maybe as a here and there thing or to have more going for them beyond just being a sex object.
I just finished up the first 8 eps of Animaniacs (2020 - 2023) and yep. Same issues as the last three, with okay segments here and there. But very much loved seeing Julia Brain again in that awesome segment. But besides that, nice video on Minerva Mink here. Yes, the history on her has been made very clear on what we've known about her for years and her decline from any more segments, reduced to cameos to her comics. I've had a crush on her since i was kid and was happy back in 2008 when the dvd were gonna start selling in stores that year. Getting to revisit an old show i had not seen in years and the old series still holds up. Heart was put into every ep. Unlike the reboot. Anywho, your vids on Animaniacs have been awesome so keep it up. Yes, i'll admit her character was shallow and her second segment i loved more, due to giving her some characterization. Would've loved it to see her grow as character, but such as. I didn't really care for that at the time, when all i had google eyes and drooled for her, while i'm being honest. but you've made some valid points here about her and loved it. Take you guys and have a good one! Ps. I do love Meet Minerva more for obvious reasons.
I wonder... if they had a more risky character than minerva, would that mean that the MAM ppl would complain solely on that character and allow Minerva Mink alone? Because if that's true, wouldn't that encourage more risky behaviour to get less risky behavour by comparision to be added? Which means the outrage actually promotes the opposite, a more extreme version to allow the more reasonable one. Then again, she'd probably be better off on Freakazoid, a cartoon that's more adult than anamaniacs.
I can agree there was some strong sexual energy coming from her but we are sexual beings and it’s a natural crossroad of sorts. As I got older, bcuz it made sense I appreciated it more. Pepe also. These animals (skunks and minks for ex:) they are have very sexually aggressive instincts( to put it nicely) so it’s also an animated play on their natural demeanors.
I think if Tom Ruegger, and his team were more careful with how they handled Minerva's sexual jokes, she could've been seen in A more favorable light with the kid's parents. Compared to The Warners, and Pinky & The Brain, their reliance on word play helped them be more clever with their humor. Minerva, was A bit too sexually charged for them to handle,.(More so than the jokes they used for Hello Nurse.) Which explains why her appearances got cut short as the series progressed.
Mink was definitely one of those *awakening* characters that "activated" something with some viewers. She joins the same club as Lola Bunny, Sally Acorn, Rouge the Bat, and half of Disney.

Uhm yes they will☠️
Speak for yourself, there were a lot of characters that “awakened” me as a kid.
Bruh I'll never understand how this isn't okay but violence in cartoons are HARDLY ever questioned
@@royaltyblessed2454 just out of curiosity, what do you consider as crossing the line when it comes to violence in cartoons?
Saying Minerva has some fans definitely feels like an understatement.
She’s the real reason why Animaniacs endured for so long.

Minerva didn't die, just her career. She still lives on to this day, in fan art and representations.
I guess you're right
In porn
Before I actually watched her skits, I thought she was gonna be like a female Bugs Bunny, kinda like what Slappy the Squirrel was when she was younger.
I think she COULD have worked if she was given more to do than just look pretty. I mean they already had Hello Nurse for jokes like this, so even if it didn't go as far as it did, it still woulda been kinda pointless.
Very much agreed, a female Bugs would have been a sight at the time. Hell, they could have built off what Babs was doing in Tiny Toons, I'm sure people wouldn't have mind.
Not to mention HN is kinda the better character between the two writing and personality-wise.
I think I would've liked it more if she knew she was attractive, but didn't use her attractiveness as a way to get what she wanted.
5:56: Damn, they gave her the “4-Kids Rouge the Bat” treatment
When it came to overly sexualized cartoon characters, Both Minerva Mink and Hello Nurse became absolute icons!
He could be into Slappy. She's a catch.
That sounds like a great idea!
@@Hinatachan360 I can definitely see that. I'm sure that there are people who prefer slappy over Minerva
or they can show that accutal men who have a good head on there shoulders know what games shes playing and she doesn't get what she wants despite her looks and only gets the suckers "that are the unattractive men" to do her bidding. showing that you cant always get what you want though looks alone.
hell make slappy appear in some skits depsite with minerva her age she gets all the hotties and have a good time with them.
They could have done a Tinder-Parody episode with her in the Revival/Reboot! Course it would have to be family friendly! 😂
With these writers ya know all the """boomer humor"""(I think thats what it called) in that kind of episode
The problem is women aren't allowed to be feminine in media anymore
@@1Hol1Tiger retarded take, get some fresh air
@@1Hol1Tiger depends on the media, if it’s a kid’s cartoon they are allowed to be feminine but they aren’t allowed to be overtly sexual. Dark day for media I know.
If you suggested that idea to the show creators they would call you a neo nazi and fire you. the media has really become bad we got to make our own cartoons and upload them to youtube. or watch anime.
I forgot that part of her schtick was that she went crazy over guys as well.
That was a novelty. 😊
Also, I am both surprised as how sexual she was allowed to be in a cartoon... Yet also, supportive her presence.
It's a strange position to be in, but I currently don't know how to put it into words.
We all miss her & Hello Nurse.
@@elysiabarr425 ah, I see. Thank you for explaining!
Well, I never thought I’d see Trevor and V working on a video together, but here we are.
Considering the fact that a huge chunk of the audience was adults in their mid to late twenties, I think Minerva fit in quite well.
I liked her Minerva mink I think it’s good to see her in a comic book too yes despite it not capturing the 90s cartoon character however I don’t think it’s always possible to do that with anything we loved as 90s kids
I liked the comics stuff mentioned here, sounds like you can get away with a lot more in comics than on TV.
Except for swearing😒
Probably because they don't need to worry about getting cancelled by the tv networks or advertisers. they just need 1 publisher and no middle men.
Recently vampiremeerkat genderswapped Minerva and the cast and kinda revealed how much more screwy it would be if that was the case
I actually kinda remember her having a cameo in looney tunes comics as well, I think it was a daffy parody based off the Troy movie and Minerva appeared as the human goddess Minerva, then gets tossed overboard by daffy lol
Thanks for remindering me to draw Minerva for "reasons"
I think I like the way they don't make her entirely this vixen with complete control or intelligence. They give her these Masculine sort of flaws you'd only see in male character, like the way she goes absolutely bonkers over an attractive man, or even her backstory. From what I heard, growing up she was considered an ugly duckling. That's probably why she's so shallow, and harsh with her rejections.
Once I learned what an actual mink looked like, I was like "Wow, almost none of that's in Minerva's design! If she looked more like one of those maybe I'd have found her more attractive"
Minerva's design actually translates very well to a horse. It's that tail matching the "mane".
Probably for the best i always just viewed her as a human with a tail.
She had great story's in the comic's.
I still love Minerva Mink! If only the writers did find some ways to tone her down.
Like Daffy Duck?
@@petertilton7004 Kinda, but Daffy's a far more likable character. And he's funny.
@@FlashTimberwolfDaffy becomes likeable in Duck Dodgers
Thanks!
My niece who was 5 and 6 at the time loved Minerva Mink because we have the same first name. The double entendre stuff went over my niece Elly's head.
Minerva is a decent character. She's not bad but not particularly good either in my personal opinion.
I'd much rather have her than Katie Kaboom.
Me too! I loved Minerva Mink but hated Katie Ka-Boom.
I loved Minerva. She was like a smart female Johnny Bravo. I loved that they had her be the "Ooga" girl who goes bananas for guys too.
Wasn't into this character compared to the others like Chicken Boo or Slappy Squirrel.
But I'll admit, she deserves better.
I loved her - in small doses and she was...one of my animated crushes.
I use to get in trouble in first grade for saying “helloooo nurse!” 😂
I feel like overtime they could revamp her character and given much more and taken bits and pieces from her comic book and cartoon adaption and blending it together.or do like the looney tunes show make her pretty and wacky like lola
I think she was a lot better in the comics, she still love her anyways.
Wilford's alt form's basically handsome Jon Talbain from Darkstalkers.
I think Minerva could comeback if they give her the lola bunny treatment from the looney tunes show
To quote Jessica Rabbit: “I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way.”
It always comes down to the same thing: it wasn't uncomfortable for kids, it was uncomfortable for the adults who were attracted to her and didn't like that they were. Guaranteed they also ignored all the old school sexual characters Including Bugs in Drag.
"Buttons and mindy" is not a "stinker" it's based on classic cartoons where one character absent-mindedly walks through dangerous situations and doesn't get injured and another character tries to rescue them from that danger and winds-up getting injured for doing that it's a staple and pretty funny
huh, I had always wonder what happened to Minerva when I was a kid. As a young boy of culture, I had always hoped for more Minerva episodes.
In regards to Buttons and Mindy, well at least Buttons himself is cute
He along with Mindy should have made a come back
To be honest, I forgot Minerva even existed.
Nice intro, love the chemistry 👌top shelf
Minerva although shallow and vain definitely awakened a lot of young lad’s sexuality’s but it was also important for young boys to learn not every pretty face hides a pretty heart
Animaniacs: Toeing the line
Minerva: Crossing that line
That's pretty much it.
Didn't you guys forget something? Minerva's voice actress, Julie Brown! For God's sake, she's a comedy legend!
“Blame Canada!”
“Blame Canada!”
I like having a female character who displays typically male tropes to cast a light upon them. And vice-verse.
Minerva Mink: Possibly the 1st OnlyFans furry.
V should be the third media momento
12:10, That is the BEST and FUNNIEST reaction ever!
🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
1:55, I never knew any of this, until now
I don't really like characters whose deal is mostly, if not only how only attractive they are/stuff in that area. It feels shallow, which is as you've said in her character. Especially in a cartoons aired primarily to kids. It's a bit uncomfortable.
Aww yeah she was my favorite character!
I can, uh, tell by the pfp
Justice for Minerva Mink! Bring back Minerva Mink!
I honestly feel like Minerva would work better as her own separate adult show just because obviously she’s generally going to appeal to a much older audience and if it’s a show specifically targeted towards adults, they can get away with a lot more
She should have more episodes with Newt. Newt was a very good character and the actor who did his voice nailed it.
Minerva Mink was one of the more... memorable and amusing characters of the series.
I now realize that someone asexual may not be as interested in Minerva as well
I've just realized how seriously progressive this show is
I always felt Minerva Mink was a new take on Pepe Lepew.
Minerva embraced her power over others. That's probably the "problem."
Miss Mink,I always wondered what became of her, and now I know, and I think she was the reason I wake up each day, because she took my breath away!
The old Animaniacs was way better than the crappy reboot.
minerva... one of my childhood crushes, along with rouge, maid Marian, and lola
I wonder... if they had a more risky character than minerva, would that mean that the MAM ppl would complain solely on that character and allow Minerva Mink alone?
