I would honestly like to see more of Lucky and Charity interactions just to see how much they can bounce off each other with an innocent eccentric character and a wrathful eccentric character
I love how Whacked! actually represents the Seven Deadly Sins so accurately! I've seen so many pieces of media represent the sins as "squeaky clean" and as actions that everybody has done and will do in their life (Greed only being with currency, Sloth being tired, Gluttony having a larger appetite, Envy being basic jealously, Lust being simple love, Wrath being general anger, Pride just being proud). So Whacked! making these characters with the proper traits, not toned down (or at least not much), but the actual sinful traits that makes anyone who has them completely insufferable to be around (Greed being hoarding, Sloth having the energy but refusing to use it, Gluttony eating for the sake of eating, Envy thinking that they'd take much better care of someone else's belongings, Lust being objectification, Wrath being intense rage at a moments notice, Pride being full of yourself) I was so surprised with how good these characters fit their sins! (If only more media represented the seven deadly sins properly...)
This was a good video! We rarely see people talk about Whacked! I would totally like to see Microsoft bring back these characters in some way, even if it just includes references. Some additional facts include the game is actually the first Xbox Live game, it originally started out as a kids game before taking a much more mature direction, and the voice actor for Tooth provided animation in the 2D cutscenes. Sadly the actor who played Lucky died in early 2019, may he rest in peace. However in good news the company who made Whacked were given royalties, which is very rare in game development.
I think charity’s name it’s supposed to be a reference to an old joke where some rich guy says that he’s going to give money or x or y to charity to look good, make a business deal or something and then it turns out that their daughter or fiancé is named charity and it all ends up going to her instead (although I can’t for the life of me know where the joke originally came from, i only heard about it in an episode of bojack horseman where they made it sound like a well known trope).
@@cornbabyproductions no, im pretty sure that the joke’s supposed to go somewhere along those lines, like, saying that you’re doing something for and/or giving to charity, except the “charity” in this case happens to be a greedy little girl with a prime instinct to hoard everything she sees, cuss she “totally” deserves it.
The music in this game is so good. I always played as Otto. I just love the fact that the character is actually the chair just using the guy as a puppet, it's genius! I'd love an entire game based off of that concept, where you can knock people out and use them as a new puppet to gain entry to places.
About the show.... I think that The Amazing Digital Circus could be just that. When I watched the pilot, it felt eerie familiar and then it clicked. The humor, art and even half of the cast is extremely similar to Whacked!
Pomni=Charity except less greedy Jax= Lance Ragatha=Lucy except less horny and more innocent Gangle=Otto except less lazy Kinger=Lucky but more nicer and less angry Zooble=Toof but emo Caine=Van Tasic except instead of demon he's teeth and eyes with a body Bubble= Eugene but less envious
This game brings so much nostalgia as a kid who played it, which is common for a good amount of players. What stands out to me most is the style, it really embraces the cartoon aesthetic and every character is allowed to stand out and the game play embraces it. It's funny to remember a game like this because sometimes it feels nostalgic and other times it feels like a fever dream, which I feel like a strength for the game. Certainly can never forget it.
If Xbox Game Studios were to make a long-awaited sequel, I think I’m considering getting a future Xbox console. But normally I’m more into Nintendo though
Interesting fact: Whacked got a Japanese release. I'm surprised it got released in Japan, since the Xbox didn't sell very well there. But I guess it makes sense, since Japanese game shows are notoriously humiliating.
12:36 I actually recently found out what his special actually does, the minions basically kill the other players when they touch them or be on them for a few seconds I still need to do more testing with it to know but it is certainly better than otto’s.
From top to bottom this game was a special kind of mental that I've very rarely seen replicated. Perhaps the only game I could really compared Whacked! to might be Postal 2.
Whacked could be a rude version of Fortnite or Fall Guys. I wish there we were in a timeline where this game had that level of success with huge multiplayer.
I would honestly like to see more of Lucky and Charity interactions just to see how much they can bounce off each other with an innocent eccentric character and a wrathful eccentric character
Lucky the badass rabbit with a soft side and Charity the nicer version of Angelica from Rugrats

I don't like Lucy from Whacked because she's a succubus disguised as a human girl and she's too lustful
@@sofiadominguezleon4106 That's your personal opinion, i think she's a great representation of lust as a concept.
Otto also means ottoman, a type of seat/furniture.
Lance looks a bit like a buff Sonic.
And Charity… Her design combined with the fact she’s voiced by Tara Strong, she straight up IS Bubbles
Charity looks more a nicer version of Angelica from Rugrats than Bubbles from Powerpuff girls

nah i'm pretty sure they chose it because charity is the opposite of greed

It's kinda sad we don't get games like this from Xbox anymore.

I've never played this, nor do I remember if I've even heard of it but... This looks like a game show on LSD
you would be correct sir. LOL
Lance makes narcissists look well-adjusted.
Lance is an immature Chad and stalker

Charity was always my favorite character.
same
I always found Charity to be creepy with her face.
This game was so good, and so unique. It's really a shame how few people remember it and how it's gone uncelebrated.
Did anyone notice that on the box art, Lucy stood out the most?
Yeah Lucy is the fan favorite because she's rule 34 material
I played the shit out of this game when Live launched.
If Xbox Game Studios were to make a long-awaited sequel, I think I’m considering getting a future Xbox console. But normally I’m more into Nintendo though
Was I the only one who thought Lance was like, a parody of sonic?
It's not just me right?
@Stezika15 oh good. Thought I was just seeing things
@@sofiadominguezleon4106 wait really? I thought he was a jerk
My friend Izzy refers to Lance as "demon Sonic."
@@The.Lake.Effect that fits
Bruh I always used lucky… “now I’m angry”
So besides whacked is there any other Xbox games that you enjoy to play?
This Game would be cool as fuck in Vr
whacked was alot of fun. they should make a remastered version of this gem
We need this one the Xbox store or a remastered version
This was, hands down, my second-favorite X-Box original game. Loved it!
Microsoft has a lot failed mascots on the OG Xbox I wished succeeded or lived longer then they did
I’m not sure if I’m the only one whose noticed, but I think Lance kind of looks a lot similar to Sonic, I wonder if that was intentional
true
Lucky also looks Sonic-esque

Congrats on 1k, also what is your profile picture of?
Uncle Oswidge from Dave The Barbarian.
Super gay lion confermed
Lance is lost Sonic OC

This is great but I kinda wish gou went a little more in depth with van. Im sure theres more to him to explain

Eugene reminds me of Penta from Penguin Adventure.
Question of the day: who the frick bought Whacked
We need to toss Them requests to bring this game back
I did lol
I did and got The Tara Strong to sign it. The line was long but was so worth it.
I did like 4 times in my life total. Love the game, absolutely!
From top to bottom this game was a special kind of mental that I've very rarely seen replicated. Perhaps the only game I could really compared Whacked! to might be Postal 2.
Dude what the name of xbox that can let u play?
The 360 and the One both play Whacked, but the 360 has some texturing glitches.
@@mediamementosofficial actually, only the 360 plays whacked
