I am new to Garmin. Yes, a total newbie... So I had no idea of screen and add-ons, that is , until I found your video tutorial which taught me all this useful tweaking. I purchased the Garmin Edge 530, but after seeing the touchscreen version, it has made my jaw drop wide open. I just purchased a new racing bike, so I was not at liberty of choosing a top of the range bike computer. But after viewing yours, I may consider swapping later on once I get the hand of the ropes. Once again, thanks for posting this tutorial and for taking the time to make it. Happy riding.

This is a fantastic video of this app. I just got the Garmin 1040 and I saw a pic of a 1030 with the My Edge app and I was scouring Connect IQ for it, and then came across your review. Like you, I love the view of the app.

Great app and I love the fact everything is on 1 data screen, BUT when opting to view power as the analogue meter, when your around 170-200w the needle covers the average power figures and as the figures in the middle are quite small its a tad annoying. And yes I know if I increase my current power the needle will move but hard when ascending.
My edge2 is cool, but I prefer to use the build in graphs instead. Power, HR and CAD.
Can Aspen find my Garmin if I forget to buy a leash and it falls off on Tappan Zee?
I'm doing this on my Edge 1000. Once I get past the 8:00 mark on the video I select Data Screens, Screen 5 (my choice), and then my screen does not look like the one on the video so I can't get past that point. I'm stuck.

Connect IQ cannot read the downloaded my Edge2 app. i saved it after downloading but it doesn't show on the connect IQ apps. what seem to be the issue? thanks for your input.
I know that showing more data can be battery consuming. How is the battery life using a data screen like that?

New question. My Garmin 1030 Edge Plus refuses to 'Update Maps". I am noticing, at the end of this video your favorite app offers an option concerning maps. I am not seeing this option on my installation of your favorite app. Is there a 'secret sauce?'

I show you at 3:45 into the video. I believe you can also do it from your phone but I've never tried that.

To the left of the time and distance are some green bars that represent battery level. To the right are green bars indicating the GPS signal strength. T.E. is training effect which you can read about here: support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=Vi2undejXR5Mmq662o4lO9 Thanks for your question!

Nice video. Not too impressed with the app though. The speedometer and cadence values seem to be delayed. Limited options to configure data fields.

Figured it out. Night mode in settings. Nothing to do with the app.
So, went and downloaded and installed. Here’s what I’m seeing right off. 1) Only the 2 lower center and 6 lower data screens are configurable. The 6 are an issue as it’s all power oriented. There are like 2 navigation options, and 2 gearing (Di2), everything else is power and not of interest to me. They need more functions like maybe Di2 battery, temperature, etc.... and if you select None, the field sizes should compress to larger size as the main Garmin screens and Wahoos can be selected. Right now None is just blank so useless. As well, the 4 upper data want to be configurable as well. That’s my take currently and as note I had already tried the first generation of this. Then I opted to delete and it crashed on my mobile app. Sigh
I wish every field was configurable but I'm perfectly happy with the ones that aren't which DO SHOW temperature and battery level of the unit. I don't have DI2 or Power so I fill up the configurable fields with heart rate, cadence and altitude. Maybe the author can make the mods you're looking for if you contact him. I'm sure you're not the only one looking for those changes. I haven't uninstalled this app but have tried numerous other ones and uninstalled them without any problems. The only issue I had was I set all the fields and synched and the changes didn't take, had to set all the fields a second time and synched and they took. Weird.

HR of 43 while biking??? I've heard of sleep walking, but only once of sleep biking (Chris McDonald i RAAM).....
Does that work on the new 1040?
I broke my 1030 and got a refurbished 1030 Plus and it works on that. I don't know anyone with a 1040 so can't say yes for sure but I'd be shocked if it didn't work.
I’ve tried this out over the past week.. yes it does look good and makes things totally different but for me there’s far too much going on 👍
