It has some HUGE pines, cedars & hardwoods we actually want to hunt 30+ ac and are trying to figure out if we can clear cut the 9+ ac and make any $ on it(lender said we can use any $ made towards the loan). It can help if the buyer is already or will be working in the area. AFOA recommends working with a consulting forester when selling timber. Remember a registered forester does not mean someone is a consulting forester.
5 acres is an extremely small tract of timber. You would have to catch an adjacent landowner that is having their larger tract of timber cut and get the crew to cut yours while they are there. No one will bite on 5ac. You might get $6000-7 at the most IF you could get it cut and it has jam up logs on it.
