You can tell someone to stay out of parts of the warp and still let them know how to get around. Maybe if Magnus was allowed to understand what the Emperor did instead of being kept in the dark. So stupid. Magnus was so misunderstood.

    • @leman7648
      @leman7648 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +67

      I was always surprised by the reason for Perturabo's betrayal. Among the traitors, he is the only logical and serious one( except Alpha Legion off course). Even Horus became possessed towards the end. It was Perturabo's legion and his leadership that carried the danger during the siege of Terra. Even the other legions and forces of the warp were part of Perturabo's plan. Horus only wanted to kill the Emperor and the throne, the other primarchs went mad and minded their own business. And only Perturabo really managed the operation and kept everything in order. Why he betrayed within the framework of the setting is strange. Even Mortarion has reasons like the Emperor's stolen revenge, Typhus, and Nurgle wanting the entire Legion. But Perturabo and Alpharius would be really useful on the side of the Imperium.

    In that book there's a bit where Magnus catches a falling ship and faints. Perturabo is there to catch him when he falls.
    We see from Perturabo's perspective that he is at the edge of the city watching from a bunker. In order to be there to catch Magnus, he would have to jump into a ship and fly it straight at the impact point of the falling ship.
    Perturabo is either so confident in Magnus's abilities that he doesn't believe he will be in danger (while simultaneously knowing that Magnus will need help) or he would rather die with Magnus than be responsible for his death.

    I truly adore Perty. I feel like he’s the most relatable Primarch in the sense that he at one point deep down is actually caring, about his brothers and his sons.
    But much like we experience in our own lives, sometimes caring is a such a burden that we adopt a policy of not caring and being hard and cold with people and the world so we can’t be hurt by allowing things like empathy and love into our lives.
    Perty is that vengeance, that urge we all have to hurt others when we’ve been hurt and to make sure it doesn’t happen again. The Lord of Iron is just someone who once cared too much.

      He’s definitely one of the more “humane” Primarchs among his brothers, he was raised through cruelty and the principle of “survival of the fittest”, he realized he was being treated as a tool even before the Emperor arrived, saving him from Olympia didn’t change that fact and he knows it. He’s not cruel by nature, he doesn’t know any better on how to treat others or love them because he never was treated any better, or taught.

      Perturabo's a genius in a kind of cursed way. He looks upon something and can see how it will fail, and through this he understands it. This doesn't stop with machines, buildings, or weapons, but goes all the way down to people. He can always see how people will crumble and fail him and so he pushes them to be stronger and show no weakness, but noone can live up to that kind of impossible standard and so they continue to disappoint and fail him. Personally, I think this is a link to the Akashic Records constantly streaming the information into his mind, and as a side effect, causing him to see how the universe will fail by showing him the Eye of Terror.

      Magnus was actually quite charismatic in his own way, and he made friends with most of the primarchs!

      Magnus was endearing in a way, he acted like a know it all but he usually did! He was also one of the more human primarchs, he had compassion for his sons and brothers, a trait that is somewhat rare in the primarchs.

      @@terrormask2475 Yeah having two project heads for the same project, especially when at least one of them is super competitive would be a disaster.
      Now having Dorn working on the Imperial Palace, and having Petty Rabo creating defenses for the solar system, would have been an interesting way to keep both happy.
      They'd have been constantly trying to one up each other, so by the end, the imperial palace would be an impenetrable cathedral that would be a wonder of the galaxy, and the solar system as a whole would be a death trap for anyone stupid enough to get within a light year of it.

Given his immense reason, he probably could have saved Magnus from falling, deduced Horus betrayed the Emperor, and rallied the Thousand Sons to for a mighty force of Metal and Magic and take the fight to Horus, and win.
    He could do it, I know he and Magnus could with or without the aid of the other loyalists. And he'd do it for himself, not for his father, not his father's Imperium, not for any other reason but himself. He could. And, if given the chance, I think he would.
