I swear the attunement is bugged, my first drop had my attuned perk, and the next 15 didn't, and it didn't drop another until I changed attunements back and forth. It was even just me, I've seen some other people have the same issue.
If you hate your life, fastest farm for strange coins is still "The Devils Lair" in the cosmodrome. Around 5mins if you're efficient and award the 7 coins as said in the video
I just play regular onslaught up to wave 50 if you haven't cleared the weekly objective for it. Good way to get random rolls for some of the guns and you can survive most high rounds with stasis builds and use guns with destabilizing rounds
@ZachBroughton I agree, me and my friend ran it about 10 times, each time we did, we tried to go faster and faster, side note, the first time the boss appears, don't kill her and she'll spawn the adds to open the door faster, 5:31 was our fastest time, pretty fun
Because it make you grind coins more.... which are actually shards. Eve n dreaming city bounties still give you shards..... but streamers don't mention things that are a waste of life they make shit like this
Attunement might be the best thing they’ve added. 3 drops and I immediately got a syntho/caliban drop for my Hunter, and it only took 1 drop to get a hoil/syntho drop on my Titan. I’ve had hundreds of drops prior to attunement being released, and none were even half decent. Marks were always spirit of bear, and cloaks were always an equally useless trait. Thank you Bungie!
Same story here, got something along ten spirit of deception/uselessness before discovering that attunement existed, ten to fifteen more roll and i had the sweet hoil/syntho on the Titan along with other somewhat useful stufff
advice I don’t know for whom - If you farm coins: take a contract from Ada for transmogrification. Then look in the pathfinder what you need to do in strikes. Each path gives resources as well as 150 bright dust, which is not much but still nice. this way you can get a lot more useful things in the process
@@crimsonstrykr Yes, you can do them several times a week, I didn't count, but more than 5 times for sure. There is a bug now that the third time you don't get dust, but then it starts again. At the same time, sometimes it turns out that you simultaneously do most of the pathfinder from Gambit and PvP while doing strikes. So they can also be finished quickly.
@@hoax845I was running the regular onslaught from the Into the Light update, each regular 10 wave interval was giving me about 5-8 per 10 wave clear. Not sure if there was a reason for it or not but that's what I was doing and it worked for me
Yup. I'm playing onslaught too for strange coins. The final wave after clearing gives you 2 chests if you can open the 2nd one before anyone else since it's currently bugged
It's a good thing I spent the last week or so absolutely gunning it in NF while trying to get better at using Combination Blow (I'm new to Hunter, trying to get a handle on things). So I had 99 Coins ready for the board on the get go, bought it straight up. Gotta farm more though, for the other stuff he is selling currently.

Strange,stranger,strangest favours. Also the ciphers you can get from smashing coins into Xur like a dusty slot machine with tentacles is pretty hot for making exotic armours into artifice pieces. (For the players that still need to artifice all their exotic armours)

The favour of the nine buff does need to be purchased, you need to spend 47 strange coins, on anything else, then the buff is available to pick, if you keep up your buff you can max your buff, Vanguard playlist strikes you can earn a max of 7 for a normal, 6 for a gambit win and 2 for a loss and the same for crucible
Crown of Tempest from Xur is high stat recovery this week, Master worked & Artifice makes it 91. Get class item obviously but also NightFall engrams are useful but Cross is right you might aswell pick up Xurs quest, Ghost mod for materials and run NightFalls. Also although attunement for Ergo Sum isn't available i've found equipping the same Subclass as the roll you want often rewards the Ergo you want for example i equipped an Arc subclass, Arc weapons including Risk Runner and i completed the Pinnacle/Pathfinder in the Traveller i got strange coins & the Arc Conductor Ergo Sum. ✌
I was getting 7 strange coins(with the Favor of the Nine buff) for completing Devil's Lair in less than 7 minutes. Equates to 1 strange coin per minute.
You can also select a strike from the director. I recommend Devil's Lair in the Cosmodrome. It can be run even solo in 5 to 6 min and will reward 5 coins at base.
I farmed regular Onslaught. The first wave 10 completion gives you 2 then every 10th consecutive wave accumulates it by 1. 50 waves gives I think 20 per run. You need to make sure sure that last wave completion will take you exactly to 97 otherwise it won't let you take the coins if it's over.
As a side note, you can also get strange coins by loading up a specific strike from its destination. I’ve been farming The Disgraced in about 6-7 minutes per run. 6 coins per completion. So just load up the fastest strike and zone out!
So YES, You have to SPEND 47 coins to be able to Grab the buff, that is the clarity Aztecross needs to say. ALSO Bungie said this buff can be gotten on ALL the characters and that is true but here are the details: If you spend 47 coins on a Titan, you are set for all 3 characters BUT you have to go to XUR with EACH character to grab the buff for that character. I did this on my Titan but had to load up my Warlock and Hunter to grab the buff and have it count for those characters otherwise you will not see the buff listed on the inventory screen. So when Bungie said the buff would carry to all your characters they never mentioned that you still had to load them up and grab it.
I never have anything of value to say, except now! You can get strange coins from loading up a strike OUTSIDE of ritual activities. So just pick devils lair and run it over and over and farm them coins.
Interesting tidbit of info, focusing your exotic class items seems to increase the base spawn chance of the class item itself in open world content. Without it being focused I'd get 2 or 2 MAX every hour and a half. Now I'm getting a max of 5 farming the same area in the pale heart. Almost guaranteed after completing the boss wave in overthrow.
Literally all I want from Xur anymore now is the damn Graviton catalyst. After coming back to the game like 3 months ago I’ve already accumulated almost ever catalyst EXCEPT that one

overthrow is best for the class items imo (matchmade when its landing or impasse,and solo when its blooming because guitar errors) your alwos getting world drops and u can use tonics to get the odd onslaught weapon
Roam around The Landing, if you follow the road, you will pass close enough to see all the chests with the ghost's radar, then do the final chest of the overthrow. In my experience, it's one class item every two complete overthrows, so around one every 1.5h
I think a 99 cap on strange coins is a little low especially if an item essentially is at the cap. Do I think it should be unlimited? No. 150-200 would be significantly better.
Fast is completing the old onslaught 50 rewards 39 coins(with strange favor from Xur - 5th chest rewarded me 14. Strange the new onslaught - does not progress seasonal missions, does not benefit playlists objectives.
The only way i have found to bypass this is to spend just 1 strange coin at Xur to drop the total to 95. Then run a strike which will give you 4 more, giving you 99. I read that because strikes give 4 strange coins, and you are at 96 coins, it exceeds the 99 limit cap and won't let you collect any more coins. Hope this helps.
Hey cross, I was wondering if i needed to first unlock the exotic class items. I have yet to do the mission in order to acquire the exotic class items, and when i checked xur he just offered a cypher where it seems that the class item should be.
New players can’t even unlock armour mods and other content because they refuse to fix the bugged “caydes fate” timeline mission. They showed they can auto complete GR triumphs with the ice breaker kills but are choosing not to do it here with new players. This should be talked about
Ngl the cap NEEDS to be increased I was maxed out and none went to the postmaster 99 is just not enough when everything costs half of what the cap is and that's absolutely ridiculous. And we need more rolls now with the exotic class items I feel like I have most rolls I want and now it's a dead grind again.
bungie love their currency caps so people cant farm the things they want, so fun -.- really wish the exotic class items all had soem sort of inventory inside them keeping the combos you already have obtained so it doesn't fill up your vault and you can swap between obtained combos within the exotic class item

Most efficient run is the disgraced strike efficiently you can you beat it in under 5.5 min and it’s 4 without the buff per run or 5 with the buff how ever at some point I did get 6-7 a run with the buff not sure why I don’t anymore
He probably forgot since it's such a common thing to know that the shader called "Photo finish" is the RGB one. Which is that one there, it makes anything with a glow into RGB

You can only hold 99, if in your case, you're getting rewarded 4 on a completion, it won't give you anything. You need to spend 1 or more coins with Xur

If you are realizing you can’t pick up strange coins, nightfalls will put them directly in your inventory, allowing you to fully max out.

Anecdotally I don't think this is true. I've been averaging a drop every 2 Overthrow runs same as before.

Devils lair strike, 6 minute runs and 6 coins with the strange favor
I just play onslaught up to wave 50. Get more coins that way or you can mix it up and do both
The skimmer I roughly 100 sc. you get 4 per strike in the vanguard playlist. So basically do roughly 25 strikes to get strange coins
You don't purchase the buff from xur, you have to spend a 47 coins to be able to pick up the buff for free.
To buy exotic class item from xur..u have to complete dual destiny mission once..which is sad for solo players

Run lake of shadows on the destination map, gives you 4 coins per run.
If u can’t get the coins on playthrough (stuck at 96 coins) delete one coin for pick up

Overthrow has been dropping Exotic class items for me consistently. At least 1 each run and maybe another if you open world chests.

Most efficient run is the disgraced strike efficiently you can you beat it in under 5.5 min and it’s 4 without the buff per run or 5 with the buff how ever at some point I did get 6-7 a run with the buff not sure why I don’t anymore

He probably forgot since it's such a common thing to know that the shader called "Photo finish" is the RGB one. Which is that one there, it makes anything with a glow into RGB

You can only hold 99, if in your case, you're getting rewarded 4 on a completion, it won't give you anything. You need to spend 1 or more coins with Xur
15 class item drops since attunement. Still can't get eternal war/star eater. RNGesus has abandoned us.
Can you buy an exotic class item for a character that hasn't completed the dungeon? I've done it for 1 but have not been able to for the other 2
