I'm going to start my 1st live! EVER thanks for the easy tutorial! You rock
Awesome! Good luck with your live! It's a lot of fun.
Great video very helpful Thanks
Awesome! Glad it's helping people out.
Awesome video. Thank you. I’d add two things. You can also ship on pirate ship and import tracking. I often find better shipping prices on there. In addition if you run 2 or three auctions in the same day or multiple days progressive shipping is applied to all shows and shipments can be combined into one box over multiples shows and days.
You're right! I had a clip of me showing where you add tracking info from sites like Pirate ship, but I must have cut it without realizing it. I re-recorded myself too many times trying not to forget anything and ended up doing just that. Lol! Thank you for watching and for the shout out on your flipper channel! It's much appreciated!
Please tell me when are you planning to get the app android compatible. My hands are tied to do your platform. There are more android users than Apple and unless you are trying to butt out those 40+ then I guess stay with apple
Hello. Myself and Kevin are not creators of the District app. Neither of us have any control over the development. We just sell on their platform. I made this video in an attempt to help out fellow sellers that are newer to District and trying to navigate it. Sorry we can't help out. Thanks for watching the video and I hope they get the Android app soon as well.
Great video! Just what I needed to watch!
Thanks Shane! I will note, the gray messes with my phones camera when taking pics of red or blue clothing. I have a Samsung and I know you're an android guy.
@resell2ride thanks for the info. I bought an iPad just for District last week, lol.
@@sodacityflips I'm not an apple fan, but I use Zina's ipad for District. So much easier to see the screen during a live. Lol.
What are there plans for Android because there is no way to even know the fees and seller obligations to read before deciding to obligation to sell. No way to see what you as a seller are agreed too. That's the problem
@dandydiyer Seller fees are different depending on which marketplace you sell in. The owners of each marketplace decide what they want to charge. I've never paid more than 10%. As far as Android, the app does exist, but it is still in beta testing. From what I understand, they are trying to work out the kinks in the iOS app before fully launching the Android app. Unfortunately, that can take awhile.
Thanks so much for this video!
You're welcome! Hope it helps and good luck with your auctions!
thank you for taking the time to create this very helpful instructive video; you the best!!!
No problem! And I think you the best!!!
This is awesome, Now I understand. Thank you so much
@Justdoingourbest2012 Oh good! Glad to help. Thank you for watching!
I just did my first live. I had my desktop open so I could read chat better but could also see myself and I noticed every time I moved my auction item to stage my fingers could be seen on camera. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong.... I kept hitting the top left arrow to get back to the main screen. Maybe you don't have to do that?? Thanks for the reminder about they can see your face! LOL I sure hope I wasn't making weird faces haha. Thanks so much for the super helpful video!
@suzannehogue Lol! That's awesome! Did you have the camera facing you? That's the only reason I can think of your fingers being on camera. Congrats on your first live!🎉
Thank you so much
@@donaldpearson5172 No problem! Hope to see you in a live auction soon!
Thank you!
You're welcome! Thank you for watching!
@@resell2ride I totally glossed over the custom flat rate option, I have a few static listings but hopefully more to follow soon!
@DustyBoxTreasures I think flat rate has helped us make a few more sales. I definitely need to list more buy it now stuff though. I've been slacking for sure.
Great video! Thanks!
Thanks, Chris!
Excellent! Thanks!!
You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
So the only way to see an item that is live is from a picture? U don’t get to actually see the item live?
No, sellers are required to show the item live during the auction. That's when you show the items condition and give more details about it. You take pictures and add them to the store on your livestream before the auction, so potential buyers have the opportunity to see the items you will be selling and they can place pre-bids if they choose.
This was super helpful! Thank you! Just 1 question. When showed how to list you chose Flate rate shipping. And then when you're creating the label for the test item you put in the calculated shipping.
So, did the test item had flate rate shipping, which is why you had to then calculate dimensions to make the label, if that right?
And if you chose calculated shipping on the listing then you wouldn't have to add the dimensions to create the label because that part would already been done, right? Is that how that works?
@sunsoulco It works the same way Ebay shipping does, but you don't add dimensions until you create the label. I always choose flat rate when listing because I do live auctions 99% of the time. Calculated shipping tends to be kind of high and in my opinion can sometimes keep an item from selling. Also, when you buy the label, you as a seller get a discounted commercial rate like Ebay. If you do calculated, the buyer sees the full retail rate. Hopefully, this helps. Lol. Let me know if not.
@resell2ride Thank you!
So after I create label, and it mails to the buyer, it takes the shipping out of my earnings right?
Yes. It's similar to ebay. I recommend using flat rate shipping instead of calculated. Sometimes the calculated can go way over what's necessary.
Can you use any phone to do this?
Currently, the full app is only available for iOS. There is a beta version for Android, but it only works for live auctions. Personally I'm an android user, but I use Zina's iPad for live auctions and it's really nice to have the larger screen.
