Last time I watched the full video of the Rolls Royce incident, only 1 guy died (the guy in front) the other guy (that ran to the rear) only broke both his legs. He's still alive.
Also, when changing the oil, no one ever drain it completely, only draining what's been sitting in the oil pan, the engine internals still has about a quart (and maybe a half) of oil that never made it into the pan, so it doesn't matter if changing when hot or cold.
    Good video.

I don't think it's going to help too many people, but you have made the information available. It's great to see someone who set their goals a little higher, willing to do the job themselves and are not scared of doing so! What you have shown is that nearly anyone can change their own oil. Moreover you stressed the importance of regular changes. Well done and much respect.

I seriously doubt that most of the people watching this are ever going to be changing the oil on a car like this, but I love how there's still, hundreds of thousands of people, like me, who are just curious as to how the oil is changed on it.

This exact procedure can be done on an 8 cylinder Volvo S80, done it many times. A couple of helpful hints on the oil change though.. tie a rag around your wrist on the hand that removes the drain plug and screws off the filter housing. It will stop the (hot) oil from going straight to your arm pit. The other is, just let the plug fall into the oil change funnel. It has something similar to a slotted drain in the center and won't allow the plug to go down the chute and you get your hand out the way of the oil a little faster. One last thing.. if I had a Rolls Royce, I wouldn't want to be chauffeured around. I like to drive too much, oh, and I'd change the oil as well. Nice video!

Instead of using a standard (i.e., sharp) pick to remove O-rings, it's safer/better to use a Seal Remover with a small, curved, spoon-shaped end. That should minimize damaging them when taking them off or reinstalling. Snap-on and the other truck brands offer a set of four (two long, two short), or you can buy them individually. Anyone can order them off their websites. You can probably also find versions of these by other manufacturers on Amazon, as well.

Thanks for filming this and publishing!! It'll make people wonder why RR dealers charge something like $2000 for a simple oil change...
As for the oil to use - you should always use the recommended oil weight for your engine with today's modern engines. ALWAYS. Newer engines have variable valve timing and all kinds of other trickery, that relies on oil flowing at engineered pressures to work. Using an oil that's thicker/flows slower (or thinner) will mess with those systems and cause drivability problems and, if the oil is way too thick, can even damage the internal components. Also, the 3000 mile oil change interval is no longer valid. Many manufacturers (including Porsche and BMW, I think...) recommend annual or 12,000 mile intervals. Doing it every 3000 miles is throwing money, and perfectly good oil, away. Especially when using high-grade synthetic oils like Mobil 1 or Amsoil.
Mobil 1 is my go-to oil for everything these days. It's the only oil that's been proven at stupid hot desert highs and Shaking Eskimo cold...If it's good enough for F1 and their extreme operating environments, it's good enough for me!! I even run it in my lawnmowers!! Great stuff!

Drain oil when engine is heated to driving temp, Then a breaker bar should not be needed. Always tighten oil drain plug to manu spec with calibrated torc wrench.
