Stay with me in this video and I'll take you along a virtual tour around the beautiful village of Portmeirion located in the North Wales.
Portmeirion was created by Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis from 1925 to 1976 to show how a naturally beautiful site could be developed without spoiling it. Portmeirion village and gardens is one of Wales' premier visitor attractions, welcoming over 200,000 visitors every year.
The village is made in a style of an Italian village, and is located in the community of Penrhyndeudraeth, on the estuary of the River Dwyryd, 2 miles (3.2 km) south east of Porthmadog, and 1 mile (1.6 km) from Minffordd railway station. Portmeirion has served as the location for numerous films and television shows, most famously as "The Village" in the 1960s television show The Prisoner.
Portmeirion is now owned by a charitable trust, and has always been run as a hotel, which uses the majority of the buildings as hotel rooms or self-catering cottages, together with shops, a cafe, tea-room, and restaurant. Portmeirion is today a major tourist attraction in North Wales[4] and day visits can be made on payment of an admission charge.

I have a question: Can anyone tell me the best way to get to the village from Liverpool without a car?
Train from lime st to llandudno jct. Change there to train to blaenau ffestiniog. Change there to festionig railway to minffordd. Best there to stay o/ nite in nearby portmadog. Then next day, local bus to the village. One could do it in 1 day there n back (in which case get off at minffordd and walk down). But that would need a very early start and a very late retn.
Anybody can say the prisoner brought me here.
