    So heartwarming. There’s so much negativity surrounding gym culture nowadays, this is a breath of fresh air.

      Bodybuilding = lots of negativity
      Powerlifting = only positivity

    • @anthonygarcia1868
      @anthonygarcia1868 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      the only negativity is from young kids or kids well into their adulthood. Been going to the gym for 13 years and never seen anything in person only online with kids who have been barely lifting for a few years.

    • @seyerus
      @seyerus ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@anthonygarcia1868 Late teens and 20 somethings probably make up 80% of most gyms so if they’re the ones creating the negativity, then there’s a lot of negativity.

    I love the way Col tells a story "People looked on in awe as four plates glistened on each side of the barbell. Adulation and gasps were reverberating around the gym as the barbell was forcefully moved up and down for a multitude of reps. Five minutes elapsed. The day was bright and sunny, and the birds were chirping but then their joyous chirping evolved into anxious stares through the window panes as five plates now sat on either end of the barbell. It was time for war and the bystanders looked on as a gladiatorial outburst of strength was unleashed. Repping someone's deadlift max left many a spectator's jaw wide open. People were yearning for a sequel but no, we decided to up the ante and increase the stakes to unfathomable levels. Five and half iron wheels were now latched onto this 2.2m symbol of masculinity. Effortlessly, the steel was thunderously moved up and down for not one but two repetitions. Spectators looked on teary-eyed as if they had just witnessed the resurrection of Christ"
