Tap the hole in the front and don't forget to tap the hole in the rear. Great channel . These vintage cars are starting to pop up in sale sites.

You don’t hear it often, but as a car guy in the USA, I absolutely love it when I from someone from overseas say how much they love any particular American car. It warms my heart. Usually you hear how American cars are garbage. Whether you call yourself a petrol-head, gear-head, car guy, or auto enthusiast, we all have our favorites, and they are seldom limited to one country or another. Thanks for another great restoration.

Beautiful!!! This was one of my FAVORITE Matchbox cars of all time. A classic in every sense of the word. At age 6 while shopping with my parents, I was very fortunate to find one new old stock in the display case of a local pharmacy in 1977. Hah, I knew what the car was and had to have it! That car was beyond worn out in a couple of years. Yes, this variation had been out of production since 1969 / 1970, but I am sure there were so many made that the odd one would be sitting somewhere obscure where kids wouldn't normally go to buy toys. I recall it was one of about three, but snapped this baby up with the cardboard box and all. Adding to this masterpiece was the unique opening trunk. I mean, driving a car like this, it just begged for a long road trip or meet a VIP at the airport to chauffeur them to a hotel or meeting with client. It really inspired my creativity and I adored that car! I kick myself for not buying a real one circa 1990. Impractical by today's standards, it was one of America's greatest cars, and I loved the '64 especially. Thanks for the customization! I am not big on "restorations" as I feel that these can be sold by unscrupulous or uninformed sellers often unbeknownest to artist, but yes, this is so appropriate!

An iconic American car given a proper restoration. And Rob, if you ever come to the States, there's the natural wonder in my back yard, Niagara Falls. I used to work in a motel, and the number one question asked was, "Do you have any rooms?" The number two question was "How do you get to Niagara Falls?" We had photocopied directions that we would pass out.

That is one beautiful car. A bit of a fun fact about that is, the Japanese Yakuza used to travel in big American cars such as Lincoln Continentals. They since reverted back to Japanese made cars to state their dominance, but there's a cult like following for land yachts like this. But anyways, love your work, Rob!

It looks great..dark colors were common for huge older luxury cars. My Dad called those huge old cars " Mafia Staff Cars".

I think this was the car if you lived in the USA in the 60's and 70's you didn't want that kind of car to stop to your front door, because there could be couple guys pick up you and ask some difficult questions... 😄
    That's a car i really want too.
That colour really suits that beautiful car, i think it's better than basic black.
This casting doesn't need nothing more, it's so cool itself.
    Great job 😎

Lovely restoration of a 1964 Lincoln. Only change would be to paint the rear tail lights correctly. '61-'65, '68-'69 Lincolns of the suicide door style have the rear lights wrap the rear quarters of the fenders, the '66 & '67 have them the way you painted this model. Beautuful color btw 👍

There's actually several different model years of the Lincoln Continental: in my time as an amateur model car restorer, I have a Tomica brand of a Lincoln Continental Mark IV from 1976 that had seen better days to resemble the iconic and titular car from the 1973 horror film, "The Car" (and yes, I know it was a Lincoln Continental Mark III they used, but this was REALLY close!) and a Matchbox Lesney version of a Lincoln Continental Mark V (No. 28) from 1979 that I'm working up to restore it to its former glory one day (just either a straight resto or restoration+, no customisation)

Brilliant job - love the Continental. I do have several mint condition examples of these (always room for one more though) - love the ‘low rider’ look. And of course this standard wheeled variant always looked better than the later Superfast version. Also regarding suicide doors - modern Rolls Royce still use them. Nice one ☝🏻 once again Rob.

Very nice Rob. A friend of mine in high school, had a 1966 Chevelle convertible he traded for one of these. It was such a blast driving around in it. Love the suicide doors. Looked just like this one but in white. Beautiful little car. Great job. Stay safe and healthy. Have a great weekend.

It has thinner wheels (and a trunck) and is painted in an olive green but unfortunatly the windshield (or windscreen as you call it) is quite a bit scratched although might still be salvagable. Most of Route 66 is long gone, replaced by the interstate highway system, BUT there are still some great pieces of it left upon which you can motor, notably in northern Arizona.
The US is an amazing place to road trip. I love it, and try to get out for at least one week-long trip every year. I have one planned up to Idaho to the Sawtooth mountains, and another through New Mexico.
To me there is nothing quite like getting off the interstate and seeing the local color.

Great result. The colour is perfect. I don't know why Lesney decided on turquoise for the colour of the model, I really don't. Pictures of the real thing are always of whites, black and dark blues, and the odd gold or silver metallic. I always thought, when I was a kid, that, like Rolls-Royce, Daimler, and Rover P5's, it was a serious car, used by serious people, and didn't need frivolous paintwork. Yours, now is in the colour it should have been. Nice one.
