Man, your video literally talked to me... I am a PC gamer, but I work with 3D modeling. So for the past 6 years I just can't sit in front of a computer and play, I just can't, I only think about work. "How would I model that?" "What did they use to model this?" So I decided to buy a Steam Deck OLED... I just did, 15 minutes ago. Thank you. Nice vídeo.
@@Ghostlynotme445 Well yeah, new games are not what you should want to play on the deck. If I would ever buy a gaming PC again, that would be the place to play new games. The Decks performance is exactly what it needs to be IMO. More power would also mean heavier battery (so bulkier device) OR less battery capacity. not even mentioning thermals. No thanks
I have a Steam Deck OLED and an Ayaneo 2. I also borrowed a colleague's Asus Rog Ally to try it out. The Steam Deck OLED was hands down the best one in terms of the gaming experience. While I can do more with the Windows handhelds and they have more power, I rather play with my Deck. Way less headaches and overheats less.
I have been using my oled everyday since Christmas. The haptic feedback touchpads are satisfying, it can go into a desktop mode to do whatever you would need to do just like on a regular PC. The customization is awesome too. 10/10 If you are waiting to pull the trigger!
I sold my gaming pc after 1 year in August, (built it because I sold my previous 6 y/o rig) Now that Im getting older and building a business / career for myself is more important than sitting on my desk playing games, I cant tell you HOW MUCH I appriciate the deck. There are so many days where I came home from 12 hour workdays and gym sessions, just to end the day with playing 20-30 minutes of a good JRPG. The perfect way for me to end the day and keep my gaming passion alive, to the point where Im not thinking about video games in daily life, but still enjoy it as a hobby in my downtime. If Valve ever releases a new deck, I'm 100% down for It.. other than that I will keep my Deck until it breaks and fix it until there are no more parts to buy for it. The Deck fits so good into my other tech, because its completely isolated and I can continue using the seamless eco-system of apple for everything else. Good Job Gaben
@@mindofmxz couldn’t agree more with your message man I was in the same boat as well and I’m really happy. I don’t have to give up gaming. @@Sayject Yeah, I do have a mini-led big ass tv for games that require eye candy or are a miles better as an HDR experience. A good mini-led is actually better in HDR than Oled because of brightness capacity IMNHO. Oled battery life it's another story, but I rarely have used more than 50% out an about, if I would travel, I would pick up a 65w battery, but then LCD price advantage seems less compelling.
@ yea I get ya, I have a jsaux power bank when I need the extra life on the go, but so far the SD hasn’t died on me, unless I pick it up on like 30-50 percent
It's totally true. I've had the Legion Go for 3 months and I still prefer my Steam Deck Oled. The EXPERIENCE is unique. The battery seems endless, the screen makes me fall in love every time I look at it, the ergonomics are unmatched. I even prefer to play the most demanding games on the deck, the Legion offers higher Maximum FPS, but the deck offers much more stable FPS, without frame drops that bother you all the time. I even put my Legion up for sale.
@Sayject I have to totally agree with him. I have the LCD and OLED steam deck and also the Rog ally Z1 extreme the white one. The rog ally is more powerful but a pain to use, you have to spend hours tweaking in the menus just to get about the same or little more perf than the steam deck. It's raw power but untamed, so pretty useless at this point. Sometimes, the same games works flawlessly on the SD, and perform poorly on the Rog ally despite the more powerful device and VRam advantage of the Ally. To put it simply the Rog ally isn't optimised at all, I rarely use it to be honest, it's more for pure pc gamers that know their way around messing with windows, and armory crate. And the ergonomics are not the best. Meanwhile, the steam deck is ready, reliable, optimised, user friendly smooth and plays 99 % of my library flawlessly with almost no EFFORT and exellent ergonomics. Even games that are not steam verified perform outstandingly well on The SD. The SD is an amazing device, it just Works!
@ 100000%!!!!! Love this comment! Hopefully we soon get the steam deck 2, I do would love some extra power from valve! Also You’re gonna enjoy the video I have coming out within the hour! Stay tuned!
I just got one a couple a weeks ago I can’t stop playing it and I had all the switches and PlayStation portal never played it much as I play this steam deck Oled 2k 25 look amazing
great video dude. :) love the steam deck oled for its ease of use. Recently got the rog ally x and it was such a frustrating mess. Games not working properly, buttons not working properly. Did so much research trying to fix it. I exchanged it for a new one. and it still had the same problem. Yeah steam deck is much better :)
I think I'll consider buying the Oled version if they lower the price of the 512GB version in the spring and depending on how the Legion GO S performs with Steam OS or if another one with an Oled screen appears for less than 500 Euros. In my opinion, it's not worth spending more on these devices for the performance they provide. If you think about it, you'd start to get closer to a budget where a laptop or a desktop computer is better. An Asus Rog Ally is almost half a mid-range desktop computer.
The Onexfly F1 Pro HX370 running Bazzite is far more powerful and has far better gaming performance than the Steam Deck. The Onexfly F1 Pro HX370 running Bazzite is the best gaming handheld on earth!
Love my steam deck OLED. Upgraded to 2TB. Installed it myself and felt like a wiz. I recently got the Ally Z1E and windows gaming sucks. Only got it to play zombies COD. Doesn’t compare to SD at all.
If you've been using windows all your life, these window complaints are a bit overblown. Not just from his but from many steam deck users and I've owned both. I would never sacrifice the versatility of the Ally even for the console (though limited) experience of the Steam Deck. Modding games and anti cheats are the biggest reasons for me.
Comprei o meu e fiquei com ele 4 meses, foi incrível jogar Cyberpunk nele! Mas comprei o Rog Ally Extreme e dei ele pra minha noiva. Ela amou e joga todos os dias....sinto falta dele .😂😂😂😂
I have a SD and a ROG pros and cons to both. If I want to play GTA, Red Dead or Destiny 2 I cant just turn the SD on. Your opening is misleading. SD also gets hit with updates that break all the workarounds we use to play these games. Honestly the only problem I have had with my ROG is it doesnt run ratchet and clank smoothly and the lego games need a work around to be played. However I am currently finishing Elden RIng on my SD. It is great, but has its flaws.
It is all about power at the end of the day, what’s the use if you can’t smoothly play most of AAA titles. The best money can buy at this point is either the MSI CLAW 8 AI+ or the Asus ROG ally/X. Agreed windows has its issues and steam deck has a good UI but if you want a decent gaming experience with medium settings 30-45fps, the steam deck can’t do that at all.
Absolutely disagree. The steam deck sure it had its time in the sun but that time is over. I think the extreme rog ally will stay at $500 and the new legion go s at $500 and more powerful think the sd is absolute. I wouldn’t recommend a sd at that price point.
Yeah but I'd rather not deal with windows bug and issues. I've experienced it. SD is the best. Sure it's not highly capable with most games but the UI and experience is awesome with game that does work
