@ibelieveinjesusinmyspareti2861 valve has confirmed they won't release a SD2 this year and not until a significant advance in processing power has been made.
No one ever really PLANS to. PC handheld owners are a fickle bunch. You'll want more. The only thing that might hold you back on buying another handheld, is you likely not having a lot of money to spend on it lol.
The trackpad is to much of a pros that i bought it to play strategy game and looter shooter.. both trackpad can be set as one of four item item button. and it also work as a mouse for aiming and pointing. with trackball effect disable, it feel like aiming like playing cod on mobile. really love it. The rigidity of SD. Bought Steam Deck Oled 1TB, upgraded to 2TB with Jsaux casing. That casing saved me on my last fun ride. slide on my bike after passing black stuff on the road (oil/sludge from big engine i guess?) SD slide with me. Casing saved the joystick and screen. Turn on and play while waiting for tow no issue. haha
I got a Steam Deck OLED earlier this year and I am happy with it. Its a bit heavy and clunky compared to the Switch, which looks like a toy next to the Steam Deck. But the ergonomics are on point for me, the performance and battery life are both more than just fine and Valves Steam Deck Verification is decent. I dont see myself missing out on anything
Honestly I’d just wait for the z2 extreme devices and steamos to be released to the public. Going from a steam deck to the rog ally was a nice bump but going from the steam deck to the legion go 2 or rog ally 2 will be a generational leap.
It won't be a generational leap in any way. The z2e will either be the hx370 or hx365. Look at the numbers vs the 8840u or z1e. It's 10 to 20% faster at best. Some games it's worse
I grew up with a gameboy. I love nice graphics, but for a handheld, it should simply run the games fluently for a long time and be handy. Not too big or not heavy. Perfect on the hands
I think it's a great idea to have more options for handheld console to enter the market. I don't know the specifics of the Z2 go though i could be wrong 😂 but if this works for Lenovo we can see the chip branch of into its own thing while offer more expensive options for those who crave better space, battery, and performance (Z1 and Z2 extreme bit of a reach😅). For me I have no handheld but i would like to imagine the idea of having a budget two (Steam Deck and Go S) and go 2. That way I have a backup or for a friend that doesn't have any.
Picked to a 200 dollar lcd SD from a buddy who never used it there a new memory card in and it’s great! Will definitely be a great intro into pc gaming as console gamer
If it goes like the first, in a few months the go 2 will have a price drop. Amazon few months back had at around 479. Missed that sale and couldn't get it 😢
I don't get this streaming from your PC fad. Why not just hook it up to a TV in the first place? A mouse works just as well on a couch as on a desk surface. I've been doing that for 15 years.
@@gameranters For some AAA games maybe he is talking about. If you have a PC, at home why should you care the graphics performance if SD lacks.. Just stream. Outside the home, run with low settings etc.
The Lenovo Go S is an OK handheld. But is not a Steam Deck. The way Steam Deck married the hardware to the software is almost perfect. How it compliments each other to work to its full capacity. I have super high expectations in the coming Steam Deck 2. But it hasn't yet to be release, so i recommend that if you need a bit powerful handheld, Lenovo Go S is OK. But still a Steam Deck LCD/OLED is still a great device that can rival the GO S. It will depends on your budget or price your comfortable with
@horticultural261 yes. I would rather wait for the Steam Deck 2. How they request AMD do manufacture a chip for them that is so very efficient and low TDP, it is awesome. I cant wait the next Gen of it that the Steam deck will use. I too only have a Steam Deck LCD and i loved it so much. I don't mind playing at low 30.
same battery so idc. Having better performance is cool and all but if im paying hundreds of dollars more for a device that runs for about the same amount of time its just not worth it.
The go S is the worst deal in handhelds you can get. It has a 6800u in it with a binned cpu. So you won't get better performance then the deck until like 20w compared to the deck at 12w. So your battery life will be bad. If you wanted a more powerful handheld you get an Ally x, ally z1e, original legion go, the msi, or the upcoming zotac with the hx370. The windows version of the goS lenovo is out of their minds with the pricing. The ally x is barely more money and cheaper when on sale for a better apu, faster ram, and much larger battery. For a cheaper price is power is what you want both the original go and z1e ally can be had for about 500. Then you can install bazzite on any of them. So what market is this handheld going for other then the uninformed buyer?
I had the steam deck oled this is my opinion. If you are a hard core gaming that trying to avoid sitting in front of a screen to go steam deck instead bad idea. Yes the steam deck oled is good but after you have it you will miss the feeling of playing your games on high settings
Don't buy either. Wait until they finally put SteamOS on a current chip. Legion Go S's Z2 Go is just a repackaged AMD 6800U...which a few years old already.
Got an OLED SD. Super happy with it still. No plans of switching until a SD2 comes out.
So this year😊
@ibelieveinjesusinmyspareti2861 valve has confirmed they won't release a SD2 this year and not until a significant advance in processing power has been made.
Nope highly doubtful the deck 2 won't be out for a long time and valve confirmed it @ibelieveinjesusinmyspareti2861
Sd2 coming this year?@ibelieveinjesusinmyspareti2861

Was on the look out for this but that performance not convincing me. Guess I'll wait for the go 2 or see what Asus brings next.

If the Legion GO S is not coming out with OLED display, there's nothing to consider honestly
Yeah honestly the reason why i went with sd oled
I went with the ally when it released, constant using bazzite on it. That said I will absolutely be buying the deck 2!
Did he just say “lay man”?! 😂
Yup it means simpler terms so basically more dummed down instead of more complex and technical
@@meric12131415no that’s called layman’s terms
I would have considered the legion go s if he had the oled screen, so I'll wait for the legion go 2. I hope its price will not be too insane.
If it goes like the first, in a few months the go 2 will have a price drop. Amazon few months back had at around 479. Missed that sale and couldn't get it 😢
🤣 wait the legion go s has a gender?
@@meric12131415 why not :)
Hehe a “Seam” deck, classic Jacob 😂
I think the biggest benefit legion go s against the steam deck is that it has better hybrid experince since it can reach 30watts.
Moonlight and sunshine… that’s where the steam deck shines, streaming from your pc to the deck with barely a latency o notice…
Why buy a steam deck if you’re going to use it to Stream? Buy a used G Cloud for under $200 and you’re set

I am a steam deck fan but legion go s is powerful and cheaper but lcd with low battery life

I want Valve to update the Deck! That's what I'm waiting for no matter how long it takes.
Until there will be significant advancement in tech is what valve says
thing is they can update it but its not worth the effort "yet" for a small increase, remember they are waiting for a huge jump in tech to make a SD2
Easy answer - Wait for the Legion Go 2
i thought the lenovo legion go s releases in may not feb...
Windows version: February 14.
SteamOS version: Sometime in May.
same battery so idc. Having better performance is cool and all but if im paying hundreds of dollars more for a device that runs for about the same amount of time its just not worth it.
the legion go s steam os edition will only be $100 more than steam deck lcd

No I better wait for Nintendo Switch 2
Imma have both
legion go s has VRR
No it doesn't, go 2 does
@evaldazz87 Windows Central - "It's also notable that Lenovo has added VRR (variable refresh rate) to both the Legion Go S and Legion Go 2"
@evaldazz87 not having it woyuld be a really bad decision for a weaker apu.
