I grew up in the early 60s looking through the LANDS AND PEOPLES set of encyclopedias that a salesman managed to sell to my young parents (sigh). I know the purchase caused my folks regret many times, but I loved pouring through the pages & seeing the sights & exotic places. This was where I first learned of these fascinating birds. Of all the documentaries I've seen over the years, I think this is the first time I've heard their voice.

It was strange to see New Guinea's Bird of Paradise, combined on some pictures in this video with northern coniferous and broadleaf forests...
