@@CoasterFan2105 I like making the Amtrak Cascades Cabbage F40PH with the Oldest 40th and Older 50th Anniversary Paint Schemes with the Amfleets and Horizon Passenger Cars.
I had the pleasure of riding the Cascades in November of 2023 and managed to get a Talgo. It helped that I religiously watched Virtual Railfan's camera from Chehalis to get an idea as to which trains typically had Talgos. Great video all around.
thanks for the vid sir - I watched the north bound Cascades fly across the bridge over Ebey Slough in Everett just this morning, (looked like one of the remaining Talgo sets.)
Great video on the Cascades trains! I remembered a theory a while ago I rode on the Cascades trains (with Talgo 6s before they were retired in summer 2020) And today, we can catch them, or ride them, between a fleet mixture of Talgo 8s or Horizon coaches. I have remembered now that I have been through the entire route of the Cascades. Plus, I'm really excited for the Airos to come to the Cascades soon!
I like the Amtrak’s Paint Schemes, Phase I, Phase II, Phase III, and Phase IV on the P42DCs and P40DC with the Amtrak Cascades Cabbage F40PH pulling together. That’s my art decision or editing it on Google Slides.
Sure gonna miss seeing the Talgos in Vancouver WA. The paint scheme was perfect for a train serving the northwest. At the same time, I am excited to see the new rolling stock that’s coming soon. Not to mention riding it to Seattle. It’ll be the most modern train I’ve ever been on. Thanks for the awesome video!
WSDOT and ODOT oughta buy some as backup or rescue power so that Cascades stops relying on late BNSF or UP rescue units. A Cascades P42 would also be pretty sick.
@@salishaelder-christensen509 They were never going to replace the Superliners with Airo sets. The Airo sets are for intercity routes. There’s a separate RFP that was put out for bi-level equipment and other long distance equipment.
First up. I gotta watch Edit: Watched the rest of the video and as always, those were very spectacular shots! Very scenic and just awesome watching those trains roll thru! Keep Up the Great Work Man. Road to 1M Subs!
Almost every day, one set is on trains 516 and 519. The other set has been varying a lot. For a while, it was on a two day rotation of 505-518-517-506, but that no longer seems to be the case.
@@StefanWithTrains It was a joke, although freight companies do continue to refuse to put up wires since that would be another maintenance cost to them. Hell, they want to avoid wires so bad that CPKC and CSX even jumped straight to hydrogen locomotives!
I really miss the older series 6 Talgos. Those “shark fin” transition cars were really pretty.
Great compilation! Can’t wait for more of the Cascades’ colors on these tracks when the Airo sets come in!
Thank you! I will definitely make a video on those trains when they enter service!
Oh yeah baby! More of my favorite Amtrak train, the Cascades! Love this so much!
Thanks! Glad you like it!

I can't wait to see the airo trains on this route. I hear they're an Americanized varient of the OBB railjet in Europe
Pretty much. It’ll be great to see new rolling stock and more of the Cascades paint finally!
It will be neat to see them in the next year or two!

The Talgo 6s were taken unjustly. Sad to see them gone
I did not expect the series 6 sets to be retired
Those Talgo cabs are sure something alright
My 20 month old son recently became a “train kid” and he absolutely loves these videos. Thanks!
I particularly liked the fog and snow scenes, very beautiful.
Thank you!
Nice catches of Amtrak cascades trains!
Thanks!

I’m riding the Cascades next week. I hope that it will be a good trip!
Great film, Mike. You do find some fabulous locations to film.

From what I’ve heard, one of the Cascades Siemens SC-44 chargers was destroyed in a derailment in 2017, that one being SC-44 charger 1402.
Fantastic video

Amazing amtrak cascades sc-44s

Nice job on your video Mike-ster, So What is the Route of the Amtrak Cascades?

Amtrak has three international routes: The Cascades, Maple Leaf, and Adirondack 🇨🇦
What makes the Talgo emit wheezy whistling noises?
What I love most about the Cascades route? The buck-a-seat fares between PDX and ORC!
might be the short air pocket in the cars gap, same thing with the TGV TMST with their articulated coaches
that looks like a pickup truck at 0:45
Did you see Amtrak Cascades SC-44 1407?

No, it still runs today.
I love American trains but when are you going to go electric? You were the pioneers of the railway and now you are almost outdated.
On major transcontinental lines here? Probably never
Might be just me but something about the uneven engines and coaches bothers me.
the horizon cars are only temporary, but yeah it’s definitely not aesthetically pleasing
