I’m brand new to your channel and you just yourself a new follower. I’m a Profoto user for the last 18 years. But since the technology has changed so much for the betterI just can’t keep up buying the Profoto equipment unless I sell my car. So after this video I’m now more open to invest in Godox. Thank you for a good and inspirational video!
To clarify and not to confuse about "freezing action", I've recorded a second video about shutter speed, flash duration and high speed sync. th-cam.com/video/2Q5NjVJsESo/w-d-xo.html
Found your previous video (I'm here) and since I love dance photography, I'm all in. And yes, you went into the detail I alluded to previously. Again, thanks for the clear explanations. I'll ring and subscribe.
Using My R5 with mechanical shutter at full 12 FPS can the flash keep up on that speed let say power on that unit is at 1/16 or 1/32 at Iso 200 or 400 ? really like to know your opinion ThX
Hi! I don't quite understand, do you shoot serially or frame-by-frame? How to catch the peak phase of the movement without tormenting the dancer with doubles?
I noticed you did not get a reply. From my limited experience, if you set a slower Sony camera in autofocus priority mode, it tends to fire fairly reliably at the peak. I suppose that is where the velocity is at a minimum.
Hello Stephan and other viewers. I'm in debate if to buy Godox 1200III or to buy used Broncolor Grafit A4 with Pulso G heads or Broncolor Siros. Fast Elinchrom can be an option. Any comparison in terms of freezing capabilities will be appreciated( from your own experience if possible)
Hey I just bought version 3. When I switch power levels the test button keeps blinking. It shouldn't be like this. Any thoughts? Maybe I'm missing something. Thanks
Hello! Thank you for the great video. I have a question. Can you answer it? I also bought qt1200lll, but if I turn on the speed mode and turn it off again, it will emit light once with maximum power. Is it supposed to be like this?
Great stuff. I don’t know much about studio lights/equipment, as I don’t shoot in one regularly. So I found this helpful. Especially since I know lights can run up around the “I need to sell a body part” figure 😅 Thanks for this!
Thank you Josefina. Yes, all photo gear can be expensive and lights are no exception. Quality comes with a price, but it does not have to break the bank completely.
A great inforamtion on dance photography. In terms of the flash duration t.1, the AD200 Pro has ⅛: 1/2810 and ¼: 1/1670 and the AD300 Pro has ⅛: 1/3225 and ¼: 1/1818. So, bundling multiple of them together to form a light source of 8 watt or higher could be a solution for people who don't have a 12 watt light.
Don't buy these lamps! Godox QT1200IIIM quicker. It looks like they have a manufacturing defect. Black spots burn out on the built-in Led lamp, which will make it stop working. This is due to the high temperature that arises during the flash as the flash tube heats up. I checked on two pieces and one with the replaced Led lamp by the service and the same happens every time.
I bought it 2 QT600iii because of this review .... love it

I doubt it. Unless in high speed sync, but that wouldn’t be for a burst, only for one shot with high shutter speed.
Can you share your camera settings for these images?
Sure, I usually shoot at 64 ISO, f8 and 1/200 shutterspeed (with flash t.1 at 1/1200 second)

Great video explanation. Do the 2 background lights also need to be the same lights as the 3 fronts, or can they be different lower budget lights?
If they are budget, they will have a longer impulse, this will ruin the picture.
Damn good video! I’m about to buy 2 of the 600 iiiM this definitely sold me on them!

Thanks for the vid! Unfortunately i have no more organs to sell lol
If you wanna stop action Broncolor is the best for that.
Anyone have any experience using these in a high production e-commerce fashion environment?

Has anybody confirmed this? Just wanted to buy 2 flashes....
