    Started chaining a solid Darce off this setup. Throw your leg up but let then push it over their head, as soon as they do sit into them and shoot your arm into their armpit for the choke. My new favorite combo right now

    Nice! I was taught to roll off to the side so that’s what I’ve been using. I have actually hit arm bars from this position with more success than the triangle itself.

    I started bjj a month ago
    I did kickboxing before, but I wanted to improve my ground game.
    Usually I'm the big guy (95 kg at 180cm), so I often land in Mount, but I can't really work with it cause I'm technically not good enough.
    Next time when I'm in Mount I will try this out

    • @KC4
      @KC4 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mosad6140 Well, my "normal" submissions improved a lot.
      I usually use the Americana, the armbar or an arm triangle. When I pull guard I use the normal triangle.
      But I still can't get the mounted triangle on, my legs are to short and to big :/
      My biggest improvement is in staying calm and picking my shots, I can escape well from side control and from getting sprawled.
      And my takedown defense got way better.

    Im a total beginner so please bear in mind my question is genuine, im not trying to be disrespectful. Why would your opponent just keep their arms in a position like that in the first place? Wouldn't they be trying to regain control instead of just laying there hugging their own neck?
    I'm sure there is a reason someone would do this, but just for me as a beginner i can't imagine why someone would do that?

    • @fairlanemusic7072
      @fairlanemusic7072 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s common to keep your arms close to your body like this to protect the neck, avoid isolating one of your arms, and to keep your elbows pressed in to their thighs (this helps prevent them from coming up closer to your chest in mount)

      The moment those arms get separated from your ribs, or worse if those arms are extended forward in any way, that is going to lead to a high mount, then s-mount to an arm bar or s-mount to a shoulder lock.

    Dude, nope he will defend the move with the top arm. So many martial arts moves have an uke moving slower or have passive reactions.

    • @badxradxandy
      @badxradxandy ปีที่แล้ว

      try it and find out yeah you need to get to top mount first that might be a problem

    • @evrose
      @evrose 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of course they move slower and are more passive in a DEMONSTRATION. Because, well, it's a demonstration. But this move is 100% legit in a live roll. Like any move in BJJ, success is about timing and control.

  • @12mikeg12

    and why would the guy on the bottom just lay there flat on his back with his arms crossed?

    • @Thecelestial1
      @Thecelestial1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Happens more than you think. It’s called the mount position and is a very dominant and attack heavy place to be. Crossing your arms defends very well from most chokes and arm attacks even as your exhausted from someone sitting on your chest and hindering your breathing.

    • @12mikeg12
      @12mikeg12 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Thecelestial1 my point was, you need to never being laying flat on your back not moving

      @@12mikeg12 Do you train any combat or grappling? It does and can happen, but even if it’s uncommon you do not want to be on your back on the ground exhausted and have no options or experience in the position.

    • @12mikeg12
      @12mikeg12 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Thecelestial1 if you're in that position you've made many mistakes already, if someone is moving into full mount your only job is to keep your hips moving so they can't get there. if they still get there you need to look for an out whether that is going at their knees or looking to control a wrist to change the angle of their body in relation to yours, you can't just take a non-moving defensive position as that gives them all the time to do whatever they want.

    Im sorry i like this and i respect you but this is just not working when your partner is steady trying to sweep you or roll over and shrimp out. It looks good if you've never rolled before or you always roll at level 1 but when rolling at level 3 or even level 2 intensity, this is just not gonna work your partner is not gonna stay still that long for you to pull this off. Maybe if you get tired but this just aint working
