- China's Beijing and Zhangjiakou will jointly host the 2022 Winter Olympics, announced IOC President Bach on Friday.

李嘉俊 London's hosted it three times, I know, but at least they were spaced out through time! Beijing's only waiting 14 years to host the Olympics again.
At this point, the Olympics are more of a burden, because of the financial cost

Beijing again? They are hosting the Olympics since 2008? Wow! It's been about 14 years since they've done it.
Jackson Gilreath Why not? They're willing to bid, they're willing to spend, and they're willing to put on a show (as 2008 proved). Too close? Sure, but so was Atlanta 1996 to Los Angeles 1984.
IOC was ready to give those olympics to Europe, any city in europe would automaticly win, but all 4 that considered aplications canceled (2 during aplication) there candidaturee, so IOC really had no other choose

2018 Pyeongchang will be quite fresh, but 2020 Tokyo and, 2022 Beijing especially, will get the international audience wondering why there are so many olympics in Asia. Not to mention that the same CITY hosted in 2008. Sort of like how Brazil hosts FIFA world cup and 2016 Rio just two years after, though that's somewhat acceptable because they are different organizations. Other than the bad timing, I guess Beijing did deserve it, though.

This sucks! They just had a summer games in 2008 and beijing's mountains hardly get enough snow. Why did oslo opt out? Norway would have been great for a winter olympics.

Justin Humenic Nope, but we shouldn't underestimate China's ability to produce massive amounts of something artificially. They did it for the 2008 Opening Ceremony, they do it for all the products you buy daily, so what's a little no-snow going to be in holding them back? =)
