I have never been to America , but their Anthem always bring tears to my eyes. This to me , is exactly how an Anthem must sound....God bless America in these difficult times....
Thank you, as an immigrant, most first generation, naturalized, Americans, are by definition, escapees from other places on this planet. So yes, the national anthem brings tears to my eyes also. This country is worth fighting for, to preserve it for others also. May God bless America, but first, America, bless God!
It's so fantastic to hear the Star Spangled Banner played correctly without a bunch of crap thrown in! It is always such a pleasure to hear The President's Own Marine Band! They are such fabulous musicians! 🎺🎶🎵👍🇺🇸
Still brings tears to my eyes after all these years and so many changes... God bless the United States Of America, now and forever! Hated the war, love my Country!
What a sound, love the use of the Cornets rather than the normal blaring of Trumpets, just gives this band such a lovely balanced beautiful timbre. Best in the world!
I love military marches music. The sound of the brass instruments and the drums excite us to stomp our feet to the beat. Watching from Pasay City,Philippines 🇵🇭. THANKS.
So Beautiful all around.! The Conductor, The Musicians, The sound of patriotic music ...I always love and admire The USMC and all the men and women in uniform. God Bless you all. Thank you.!
I remember my high school marching band, we had to play the Star Spangled Banner from memory at each football game. I wish i could go back to those days!
Never gets old listening to these . . . . never too old to listen and feel the pride they inspire. Foot tapping all the way. Thank you for the wonderful band. A national treasure.
I can only say that the performance is very professional the execution of the sounding is beautiful superb in a such a way is pure majestic really is very graceful thing to heard it that makes me feel deeply proud .LONG LIVE AMERICA .
Amen to that! I hate the modern and wacky and extravagant variations of the anthem that they play these days, the traditional way is the best way!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Agreed Few things annoy me more than some 'artist' doing their interpretation of their countrys' national anthem. National Anthems should always be played as the original writer intended.
As a USMC Vietnam veteran this tune always brings a tear to my eyes. A tear for those 50,000+ who died in service to America in Vietnam and the many more who came home with permanent injuries and PTSD from that same conflict.
I salute you James. I agree with you; they will not be forgotten entirely as long as we Nam veterans remember. Welcome home. Michael, U.S . Army artillery , Vietnam. 1969-70.
Thank you for your service to our country during a difficult time. By the way WELCOME HOME TO ALL OUR VIETNAM VETS. SORRY IT IS LATE, but it comes from my heart. God Bless all of you and GOD BLESS AMERICA. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
James Hutchins just remember there are also many many young people such as myself who were fortunate enough to personally hear those Vets tell their stories. We will never forget them either. 🇺🇸
Pierre Girard well, I want to thank you for listening. It gives me a good feeling young people listen, try to understand and more importantly - at least to me - think over what they hear, see and read. Remember not all people who look, talk, worship, live and vote differently are bad, evil or corrupt. I believe someone once said judge someone by what they do not what is said.
Thank you for the appreciation. Admittedly, you were listening to the finest band in the USA, they know how to properly play the Star-Spangled Banner. It’s interesting how some songs are shared with the UK, but different words and titles. Even our National Anthem was originally a British song, with the name and words changed.
Beautifully done. I remember the United States Marine Band performed at my High School in the late 70's. It was at Clovis West High School gym. From Fresno, Ca.. They played for the students during the day, letting the best of our musicians join in. (I was far from the best so I watched). They were so fantastic. They later played in the evening as we'll. I was proud of these Marines then and today's Marines. Thank you for the music and your service
Maybe only in America. in the UK it was traditional to play the National Anthem at the end of film shows, musical stage productions and the night time closedown of TV, and many other public gatherings. Sad it no longer happens.
This is really special and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all of the inspirational videos that you have all generously dedicated the time to record! I especially enjoy the marches! GO TEAM USA! 🇺🇸🎩
I am a Korean. I always get excited whenever I listen to Semper Fidelis March. It's really exciting and fun. Thank you to the American military band for listening to this march.
@Bob Ackley Are you the accuracy police? Jeez, calm the hell down and stop being sensitive. Marines are soldiers so don't insult anyone when you're this sensitively dense.
Music is the horn of human life! Exciting and rhythmic drums inspire people to move forward, encourage people to think and create a better hope of life!
So very inspirational! These folks could make music of quality on cigar box banjos if it came to it. (They are that good, and are some of the best musicians anywhere!)
I was a marine and I fought for this country in Vietnam I love my country and these people who are trying to destroy it today need to leave either stay and love this country will leave this country to all Americans who care for this country I salute you all a former US Marine
He man, I was a Marine too, thank you for serving along side. I was deployed out to Afghanistan in 2015 and came back to the U.S. in 2019, right now I am currently serving the reserves of Tennessee. To meet a fellow soldier is amazing, and I hope life is treating you well.
Amazing performance as always. It was funny to see the camera panning to the snare player (at 3:05) scared shitless looking like the conductors is gonna whip his ass if he screws up!
I'm not a citizen nor live in the country, but I do seriously think that changing the melody or words of a national anthem should be considered as disrespectful as desecrating the flag of the country. The national anthem is not just any random piece of music. Just like the flag, it represents something. It represents people. Like a country flag, a national anthem should be treated with a modicum of respect, and not changed willy-nilly, like seems to be so awfully common. Thus, it's a delight to hear it played as it should, with respect, dignity and formality.
You are so right. I remember watching the movie about him starring Clifton Webb. AKA " The March King". I get emotional listening to all patriotic songs. I will admit I do cry during our National Anthem. GOD BLESS AMERICA.
God Bless America!!! Euphonium player here!!! They have their own section right in front of the Trombones!! Weird not hearing Trumpet embellishments on the Star Spangled Banner, like most College Bands use before football games!
We have a very standard way of playing the anthem. This is the same version of the anthem I heard upon graduating Basic (albeit, less cymbal crashing.) And the same version I hear whenever we perform it live, or when we play it after Retreat.

In high school my band played it like this. My director even directed it a bit fast lol
They really did it with excellence and without flaw.
I too like the simplicity and reverence of this arrangement though I personally wish it were in a-flat major
