I carry a shield 9 most of the time. 8 round mag with a magguts plus1 conversion gives me 9 rounds plus one in the chamber. This is comfortable to carry all day. I've tried carrying a g19 and m&p 2.0 compact, but the shield really is my limit for comfortable all day carry. In the summer when it's hot, the lcp ii rides in my pocket in a desantis nemesis pocket holster. Don't even know it's there. I have a Taurus 856 38 revolver that's also in the rotation, but the shield is my go to 9 months out of the year

I'm surprised the S&W M&P Bodyguard 380 didn't make the list. 6+1 capacity, roughly the same size as the LCP II, very high build quality. I have a lot of fun shooting mine at the range. Despite the long, heavy double-action trigger, it shoots very well. Literally the first magazine I ever shot through mine was a group of less than 4 inches, at 7 yards. I don't think it's because I'm such a great shot, because I'm not. It's because the gun is very accurate and predictable for a pocket pistol.

I've had a first generation Ruger LCP for years and it is both very accurate and ergonomic. It has a Viridian green laser with it that I added to replace the red laser it came with. The down side to the LCP is, unlike the LCPII, the slide doesn't lock back after last round fired and there is no manual safety. The LCPII, although improved, still lacks a manual safety. My new S&W M&P Bodyguard has all the benefits I was looking for in a pocket pistol and is nearly identical in weight to my LCP. It also has a green laser which is superior to a red laser in brightness at night. The only downside to the Bodyguard with the laser is the cost... $500. That said, the Bodyguard has all the features I was looking for in a pocket carry pistol, and the cost of extra mags (it comes with two) on the internet is around $15 each, if you prefer more mags. Unfortunately you cannot get the same magazine finger extension the pistol comes with, but the cost of the magazine is so low, that is not an issue. Both the LCP and the Bodyguard are very similar in size and weight and have the same round capacity. The .380 round is definitely not as powerful as a 9mm round, but for close-in confrontations, I'm sure it is sufficient to deal with an attacker.

It’s heavy as hell by comparison and the snappiest gun I’ve ever shot. And the takedown with that recoil rod is just stupid and not thought out. It’s a nice gun to have in the collection but it really doesn’t even come close to any of these. Let’s not forget those super sharp edges in the mags too. My wife insisted on the smallest 9m she could get with a manual saftey.. ala 938. But it’s a piece of junk imop and borderline unshotable.

The perfect concealed carry gun is one with a 4" barrel, with a 5" or less long handle, 10 plus round flush-fitting conceal carry magazine, with a 15 plus follow-up, or secondary defense magazine that will protrude from the conceal carry gun handle. Robert Buchanan What about when it breaks after your first shot? Then it has a 1 round capacity. However, as a paperweight it still serves a purpose. Too many strikers have broken on the 365 to be recommended for concealed carry. You are only using your concealed carry gun to immediately save your life from murder. That’s not the time to be hoping your gun doesn’t fail. Hey, but at least it looks cool.

You should pick-up or borrow a Ruger EC9s and shoot it. I have one with a Crimson Trace laser red dot on it and the whole package has cost me around $550. It's almost as small as that LCP2, shoots and adequate cartridge, is a 7+1 and is quite smooth for a 9mm. I find it to be a pure pleasure to shoot, even without the pinky plate on the magazine and as such I think it is absolutely the best ultra concealable on the market. Fits in my pocket with no printing at all, has legendary Ruger reliability and durability as well as customer service.
I'm not a Glock fan, something about an Austrian corporal making a fuss over there in the middle of the last century. I just prefer an American company like Ruger, and my whole EDC setup cost less than those Glocks, and my money stayed here in the US.

If someone wants a great ccw in .380, the Bersa thunder .380cc is a great gun . 9 rounds of .380 in a 16oz gun isnt too shabby.

So here are the 2 ultra concealed carry I have due to not being rich lol I have a ruger ec9 s love it for ultra concealed carry and Wes 229 brand new 500 rounds so far no issues and yes I bought a used gun a M& p bodyguard with laser for 275 I carry it in my pocket with a sticky holster and no one would ever know it’s there .

So this is pre Hellcat but the top 2 are the P365 the Hellcat and the DB AM2. Then the single stacks like the BP9cc the shield and the XDE and XDS also the DB9 gen 4 or the P938 and 911 if you like the SA only 1911 style. That's my list of what is the top because glocks are all 2 damn fat because of the plastic mags which are thick as shit.

i agree with a lot of the comments.if ultra conceilable was the game, you left the shield 9 and the bodyguard out of it,and not only are they probably the best sellers but also arguably the most reliable.i carry the shield and for concealed carry i love it.plus i can shoot it very accurately.

  • @charlesmarshall2697

I'll take an apex triggered Shield or stock Taurus G2C over all of these. Spend a couple of hundred bucks and have ballistic blue nylon pockets sewn onto the back of all your jeans in place of your stock pockets and do a right back pocket super comfortable carry of those 2 pistols that beats all of those uncomfortable kydex holsters and you are set to go!

Remembering concealsbility, I carry the Ruger 380ACP in my pocket, with a spare magazine. The mags have the optional finger bottom mounted which gives big handed guys a better grip. And being a close-in gun, for maximum damage I load it with R.I.P ammo. Two in the throat area will be most sufficient.

    5. Walther PPQ SC
    Prefer Vedder holsters.

My wife carries her CZ-75D, on which I've mounted adjustable IPA fiber optic sights onto with a Crimson Trace laser grip and 15 round Mec-Gar low friction coated magazines.
I put adjustable fiber optic sights from IPA, which don't snag, on my P290RS in addition to the complete Galloway Precision trigger kit and it's now the best pocket gun I've ever carried. (I live in Florida, so it fits my cargo shorts...lol)
But, whenever I'm in a suit or otherwise require a smaller piece, my TCP with Galloway Precision spring set is a nice option too.
I wish we had open carry in Florida so I could carry my high polish stainless CZ-75B with IPA fiber optic sights and Crimson Trace laser grips.
Hopefully our elected officials will actually represent us one day instead of appeasing the hysterical looney of the week by granting us this right since most other states already do.
    One can always dream, right?

I'll keep my Kel-Tec P3AT .380 with the 9 round shaped extended mags - small as the LCP, better ergo (with those mags, anyway) and they just run and run. Not pleasant to shoot with the standard mag, but put the extendeds in, and it's a game changer (and still very concealable)

For up-close and personal, I prefer a snubby with a six or even a seven shot cylinder. They are more reliable, and when chambered for .357/.38+P, you won't need more than six rounds to handle most situations. Lets face it, 10 or more round magazines is just Hollywood crap. More than likely you will never have to use your firearm in the first place. And if you do, its usually up close, not in a shootout across the street. I guess I'm just old school, but a revolver is my preference for conceal carry.

I prefer my Smith and Wesson Performance Center Shields. Now the the new Performance Center. 380 is out on the market it will be a major player in this market. Personally, since the EPA has banned the chemicals used in the popular Glock models, many will never be Made in the USA. Therefore I will avoid all Glocks and Springfield pistols made in Austria. Croatia, etc. Thanks for your video.

I actually just picked up one of the Beretta APX Carry models, and absolutely love it. I also have a Sig P365 which pretty much hits the sweet spot of # of rounds, concealability, and ease of shooting. But while the Beretta carries less at 7 or 8 rounds depending on magazine, and is a bit bigger -- it is standing toe to toe with the P365, AND it is waaaay easier to shoot. Just feels good in the hand, and shoots so smoothly -- I definitely wasn't expecting that from a gun this size. Another option for folks to consider.

Honestly I like the Taurus Spectrum over the LCP/LCP2.
True double action, good trigger, better 7 Rnd magazine baseplate design (takes a page from some of the old snubnose revolver concealed carry grips), and the rubber coating on all the parts where recoil and vibration affect your hand. Its a great design. It's not just pretty colors.
My list would be Taurus Spectrum, Ruger .38 LCR w/ laser grips, glock 42/43, Sig P365, and Taurus G2C.
