    A good social agenda and lots of activities, fun people around should be a must. Especially if you live alone like me.

    In a manufactured community, will there be HOA plus lot rent, or is the lot rent the HOA as well?

    • @TheRealLivingWithLisa
      @TheRealLivingWithLisa  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello MaryJane, you will pay either LOT RENT or an HOA fee in most cases. RENT, is often a land lease. When an HOA fee is in play, you usually OWN the land, so not rent. Hope that helps~

    Good information. Are these communities gated? It sounds more like condominium living. There's a lot to think about. The HOA fees are more than my house payment which I guess that's not fair because the house is paid for. Balancing things out I never thought about. I just bought a house raising my kids and sat my butt down. I only do not wish to do maintenance

      Every community is different, I would suggest a "newer" neighborhood however.... the 55+ communities that have been around for 10 or 15 years will have people that have lived there for 10 or 15 years... meaning 70 years of age and up could be the average age... thanks for watching~~

    What if you're a liberal? I've heard some have regretted moving into The Villages because of the political demographics of that community.

    • @everetteborr
      @everetteborr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Absolutely true, The Villages is not a liberal stronghold.
      It is not Massachusetts or California or New York or New Jersey with solidly liberal majorities.
      It is has liberals, but not nearly in the numbers or percentages that most liberals need to feel comfortable.

    • @dogcrazy25
      @dogcrazy25 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@everetteborr there is a couple that live in the villages that does YT videos. They did one video on expenses. Way over my budget, they spent over $2500 / month on expenses other than the mortgage.

    • @everetteborr
      @everetteborr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@33Jenesis I also think that finding a community in a solidly liberal state, like California, New York, New Jersey, or Massachusetts, would greatly increase the probability of finding liberals in retirement communities.
      Those who have not migrated from those liberal bastions in retirement are more likely to appreciate liberals than those who migrate to more conservative states.
      California has everything a liberal would ever want with the highest state taxes for more fairness and extraordinary social programs along with beautiful weather, mountains, and beaches.
      California is a liberal utopia, and outside of Los Angeles and San Francisco, the costs are reasonable in California.
      I have three friends who retired to California, and they love it.
      Kiplinger’s did a very favorable article on retiring in California.

    • @Mitzi73
      @Mitzi73 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There’s a difference a difference between liberal and progressive people. Most conservatives are true liberals who believe in having the freedoms reflected in the Constitution. Progressives are those who actively believe in changing traditional society. If you are a liberal then The Villages would be ok for you.

    • @everetteborr
      @everetteborr 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mitzi73 yes, the definition of “liberal” changed between the 19th Century and the 20th Century. Words often evolve over time.
