"Whenever I get to meet someone, no matter how special the connection is, there'll be a moment of saying goodbye." This is an amazing sentence, it is so true and teaches us how every moment spent with someone should be lived to the fullest.
From Denmark: Well done. Cycling solo has a lot in common with solo sailing. It gives you time to test yourself and think... I think you achieved just that. During 12 1/2 year I sailed singlehanded the high seas. Now I am 80 years and bike/trike touring enthusiast. Last year I shifted from my Koga bike + Ziflex trailer to an ICE Sprint FS + Trailer for my camping gear and usually I am on the road from April 15th to October 15th. I will be heading for Sweden & Finland this sommer. Keep on discovering the world, biking! 🚴🚴♂🚵
Hey Ben. Me and my buddy had the pleasure of meeting you in havhuse norddjurs 3 years ago. Small world seeing you post a comment here to this nice video i just watched. Glad to hear you are still going strong on the bike. Maybe we see each other sometime in Ebeltoft. Best regards Henrik
@@HenrikBrohus Hi Henrik, I remember that so well and have the pictures from our pleasant encounter in Havehusene. Late May I took the ferry from Frederikshavn to Gothenburg and cycled from there to Stockholm with my Trike and same trailer I had when we met. Took the ferry to Turku, Finland, and cycled to Helsinki, where I am since the 23rd of June. Tallinn is the next to visit… All the best.
Thanks for not sugarcoating your experience and adventures. I can only imagine how tough it is but what accomplishments and memories you're making. Truly priceless! I'm along for the ride!
Great part of your life. Once you taste the feeling of travelling alone by your own fair means it is like a hard drug... What I learnt from my one year cycling trip is that you constantly need to have a target to reach, a challenge to achieve... Cycling, being constantly under the rain, against the wind, feeling alone are sometime so hard. You need to focus your mind on one single point to disconnect all the pain from your body and all the dark from your mind. But once this is achieved you feel so confident that you get all the energy to go forward to one next target. The world is huge but the power of two legs is infinite.
Simply: Well done! If anything, you have been gifted with the ability to deal with life, no matter what it throws at you, you have discovered what we all have, but cannot see. Will.
I absolutely loved this video. As someone who has been sick for 15 years and completely stuck in their life, I feel that need to head out and explore and find myself more than I can possibly put into words. I'm not well enough to do so but I just tasted a little glimmer of it through this video and it made me cry deeply. Thanks for moving me so much and reminding me what I'm fighting for
I also have the same feeling as you, just wishing to leave everything behind and cycle around the world and meet different people and cultures. I just adore cycling. Good job and keep going. By the way, you have to prove nothing you are powerful beyond measures. Safe journey. 🤍🤍
i have always longed for a life exploring what this beautiful world has to offer, and i will do it!. this video was inspiring, thank you for sharing this lovely video❤
I had to stop the video after 2 minutes, because the desire to take my bike and leave "a place I don't belong" again was too strong. Thank you, thank you for make me remember how beautyful can a bike travel be
You are definitely a film maker, that was wonderful. You have Inspired me and Iam sure many others. That is your greatest gift and reward for all the ups and downs, all the heart aches and hand shakes. Life is not what happens to you it's what you do with it. Thank you for all your sharing.
I absolutely love your complete honesty. Of course I also love your commitment to the fully immersive life you've chosen. It's similar to my own. Long days on a bicycle seat, rarely knowing where each day will end, happy to spend each night cozied up in a sleeping bag inside a tent, and experiencing so many different cultures and languages, and people along the way. Keep uploading videos so we can experience this grand journey with you. Cheerio!
Spent 3 weeks on a bike in France once plus other shorter trips. Some of the happiest times of my life. Even if you’re only a couple of days from home, things change in your head and you come back a bit different. I’m glad you seem to have found what you were looking for.
This is simply WON-DER-FUL , I also love biking , I'm 60 and I still plan on doing such a jouney similar to what you're doing. Congratulations ! You're awesome. Cheers from Brazil.
You have come a long way and I am inspired by your latest video and the thing you said. I truly wish I could do this as well. I am Inspired by your courage. My wife and I enjoy your videos and candid portrayal of life on the road. We will continue to pray for safe travels and wonderful adventures for you. Stay safe....stay you. Peace
Your words are so good and accurate for the few that dare to venture out . There is a huge book of excuses not to do it , but take a deep breath and walk away from your home , that's the hardest bit. I am not a cyclist but i have travelled by motorcycle to many many points of this world and fully understand the curiosity that drives you , hooked look forward to all future adventures . If you ever find yourself in the UK need help or a room please reach out . Take care , have fun and smile
I've been following your journey since the beginning. When you first started your journey, I was miserable, being an intern in some bullshit greenwashing startup, I thought I had to pursue my masters' degree at all cost so I kept watching your videos and lived it through you to escape it all. I enjoyed every bits and can not wait to live it myself as well. I quit my degree and now I'm saving every money I make to do the same, thank you for the inspiration x :)
Thanks for the insights and inspiration...my bikepacking adventures turn out smaller due to my commitments...but I enjoy it every time I'm on the bike...and I film the whole thing too...that's the greater challenge 😂 All the best for 2023 I wish you and all who read this
I'll be revisiting this video whenever I need a dose of inspiration, and I'll be sharing it with my friends and family, too. Keep shining your light, and thank you for reminding us of the incredible power of human potential.
Great that you shared your journey. Really inspiring. Respect for also sharing the bad things. It's not always nice in life but really brave, honest and good to share it. Enjoyed to watch and I wish you good luck on future adventures! All the best.

Hello, greetings from the netherlands. My wife recently passed away, and somehow TH-cam algorithms push your videos to me. I feel the same things you felt when you started your journey. In the end, you found the answers to your life, and I am gonna find mine. Thanks a lot for your video, it sheds some lights to me. I am now considering bikepacking myself as well. See you on the road. Cheers.
Life is what you make it , you took your life and made it how you wanted it to be. An inspiration to many without doubt. Well done for the courage you showed to do this x
This is exactly what I need. I did for a short 3 months in 2018, didn't want to come back to the US. But I knew I had to go. And now this lady months I have feeling the same way. Empty inside no sense of purpose to be in this apartment looking at the same window everyday. I'm tired empty and don't want to deal with today social BS arguments.theres no challenge. All is the same everyday. I'm ready to go
This reminds me the summer in 2018 when I just decided to pack all my things + my dog on a random Decathlon bicycle and cycle from Sweden until Santiago de Compostela and moved to Portugal. It was the greatest and most freeing experience that really defined and healed me in some serious ways. Thanks for sharing and have the best next travels!
How did you make it work with the dog? Was it tiny so you could carry it on the bike or was it running next to you (which sounds exhausting for it :P )?
It gave me chills when I recognized the place you were sitting at on the topside of Playa de San Antolin in Asturias, around the 9min mark. It's the place where I spend all my summer vacations and also learned to surf. It's a beautiful place and very dear to my heart. Thank you for sharing your story!
You have really made a great documentary of the journey you've made, very well told. I've seen all episodes and this is not only a very good summary of it all, but the narrative puts it al into place. Excellent

Wow, really engaging story telling, you have a talent for it. It somewhat resembles "The Beach", but this is better, real. Thank you for sharing, this is very inspiring.
You described my feelings after coming home after a month of cycle touring. Maybe time doesn't matter: the road will change everyone forever. Finding your place at home after this is scary. Even more scary after these experiences, after knowing what you are capable of and after seeing what life could be - maybe what it should be. On the road you can feel all the freedom and independence, but after getting off the road, it is just emptyness. You come home as a different person, and realize that nothing else is different but you... that is scary. After returning home there was no day when I didn't want those days back, when I didn't want to fly again... that is, what I call cycling: flying on the road towards something bigger, better than you while being your best self... and at home you are just you and what people whant you to be. Life is freaking scary. But over time you can adapt, and maybe one day you can fly again.
This is really enjoyble to see. differents experiences, perspectives and life. It was incredible and refreshing to watch this thank you, wish you the best journey (which I think you already have). Again thanks for sharing it

That is pure truth. At first we think that leaving the confort is the most complicated, but it is rather coming back that matters...
If you're 'scared' coming home then you shouldn't tour. Which you probably don't anyway.
