Most people in most media argue in bad faith when it suits them. It's the result of a generation raised on reality TV; it's not about good faith anything, only exploitation, being outrageous and getting views. The US literally elected a reality TV star. Remember Jerry Springers commencement address?

The boy, Dean, is a fool too. He did his own verison of the Jubilee video and he used tons of lies as his talking points and "evidence." I saw a segment of it on Reddit on the dumb reasons why he thinks Harris or Biden would be better presidents than Trump.

    • @Jay_Sullivan

That's not true. Parker had Charlie pinned when he mentioned that Kirk doesn't want to prosecute murders. Then, he showed how pathetic Kirk is by using slavery as an analogy, and Kirk fell right into the trap, admitting that he would gladly retroactively punish slave-owners but not mothers who murdered their babies. You're only angry that he made Kirk look pathetic, as he's so used to "debating" low-IQ, misinformed college students.

For example, no one answers when I ask why you guys want to vote for Trump who bragged live on air that he could walk into pageant changing rooms and get away with it. Parker is a little snake. He knew what he was doing. He was arguing in bad faith instead of debating in good faith. His juvenile way of “winning” was to change the goal post and speak really quickly to present several talking points and judge you for not talking about them all. Then after the video is over he puts on an act as if he didn’t do any of those things and pretends like nothing happened.

First of all, George admits in this clip that he only watched clips and not the entire debate, so that could play a roll in his assessment.
However, it seems to me that George is just extending Parker grace. It similar to the way we should interpret our debate opponents points in the most favourable and reasonable way. (Something Parker was not doing).
In this case he’s extending grace to his character by acknowledging that he had his faults but that he has some qualities that if refined will not only make him a great debater but a powerful ally. He just needs to mature and gain some perspective.
I agree with him. Once takes the time to listen to something outside of his echo chamber and gains some lift experience perhaps he will slow down a touch and learn to debate like a professional.

Parker is more than likely a collegiate debater. The goal in debate in the college ranks is to get as much information out as possible so your opponent misses something and then you win. All the scientists in the world can't take the core materials in semen and the female egg to produce a human being (without just fertilizing the egg, obviously). Every part of this world is just evidence of a brilliant scientist doing stuff behind the scenes. Aka God. Now, who this God is and what he wants from us is religion. But even if you see the falsehoods in Christianity (sorry) you should still see that there is a creator. That's not religion. That's a fact even a child would plainly see if the opposite wasn't preached in schools.

Parker was also on the Jubilee “Surrounded” show where Ben Shapiro debated a bunch of Kamala supporters. He seemed like he toned down quite a bit. I think he took to heart that he needs to listen more.

    Context:
The girl never wished for Charlie's daughter to get r-worded. She was asking Charlie **if** the horrible scenario happens to Charlie's daughter, will Charlie let her daughter get an abortion. She was posing a valid argument (abortion for underage or victims of SA). Now her response later "I hope your daughter gets away from such a disgusting father like you," is absolutely disgusting and insulting.

This exactly and Charlie overlook her point and at the last part she couldn't keep her cool, she need to used a difference approach next time. I've seen Republican agreeing that case of SA and Incest are justifiable reason for abortion

Well actually in this clip he mentions that theres cut audio in the video of her jeering further on the topic after the fact so its entirely possible she said word for word she wanted his kid to get r worded which yeah in any context is rather terrible and disgusting behavior

Age is an excuse as long as you lack the possibility of self-awareness. As soon as you can think about behaviour as such, that of others as well as your own, this is no longer something you can hang out to excuse a pattern used.
You CAN talk about experience, but as long as these kids dont acknowledge that, imho it is of the table. Everyone gets that as an argument in some form when we are younger. "come into my age", "wait until you have kids on your own" and so on. Not to think about that, not to accept that experience is something to be considered and acting like that is again a choice to be made.
In our times we excuse a LOT of behaviour with that - which is part of a culture not teaching the kids consequences and responsibilities. You can't wonder about that, if you dont call out misbehaviour and punish it in some form.
Destiny is such a guy to. Yes, he is WAY past to be called "young", but in his behaviour and mindset he still is. He is wiedling his lifetime and what he "endured", but you can look at his life and see, he did not learn anything out of it and his bevhaviour is right on the same ally. As someone who argues that you dont need any religion to be a decent person and knowing to behave he is one of the most insulting ppl on stage, always trying to enrage his opponent in discussions and not following ANY social rules - and because he is intelligent and to his fans funny he faces no consequences.
And Parker was full aware of what he did. He is visibly driven by disgust and hate towards the christian believe. He used a couple of times words chosen to insult and trigger Charlie in his core. Not only in the faith context - but he always tried to come back to that theme, as he did not want to discuss the given topics but to trigger Charlie.
He is smart and has a lot of knowledge, and he loved to be cheered on by the angry crowed whenever he was able to corner or confuse Charlie who had trouble to follow up or to understand the point Parker made (as he jumped topics or "linked" them as he wished). That doesnt make him a good discussion partner.
And no, it is not "most likley" he will come to senses.
Your example of a certain lady who "made the same progress" is unfitting and not well choosen, as she went into personal space way to often to, especially when she discuss other conservatives.
There is not even close to a guarantee Parker will learn anything, as he already is somewhat "famous" and earnes a lot of money out of it. There are plenty of lefties in their 60s now who started like Parker (not on the internet though, oc). And they still go on of these failed ideas.
So Charlie is right in avoiding to talk with that kid again.

I believe a debate without removal and time limits against parker would be fairly entertaining especially with a mediator who is willing to bring him back in to a focus point, but also address his points later into a debate so as to not make it unfair

Parker forced the religion argument, because it's the only topic he knows he has an edge against Charlie, because it's the only one that isn't rooted in facts.
So he came there being disingenuous trying to debate off-topic so he looks like he's winning. Not a good debater. Find substance for the relevant topic.

As someone who’s liberal and doesn’t agree with Charlie on somethings, I couldn’t stand the liberals in that room. They were obnoxious, arguing in bad faith, dense, and pretty delusional. It was HARD to watch and take them seriously. My goodness I commend Charlie. He had the patience of a saint.

  • @Ark-angel1

Parker was super annoying, that doesn’t make a good debater. The problem with the format was every time Charlie was making a BOOM point they’d raise their flags. OR every time 1 of the 25 was going down a road that was easily going to be blown apart by Charlie, they’d raise their flags to prevent the facts getting out
