JSA will be vanilla plus 2 sectorials. 'Oban (could be different, struggled hearing this, Oyabun?), the Great Watch' is the name of the current sectorial. Shindenbutai will be the new sectorial. Note Mechazoid Sokorentai is keyworded for them.
@@the_infinitygamerI assume the new ' existing' sectoral will be so that all JSA lists currently still work and doesn't completely revert to a vanilla faction breaking all link teams
am curious how they are going to do vehicles? are they just going to be the size of TAGs, cuz most boards are so dense that tryign to get a bigger size model for a tank its going to be hard to have it move on lots of set ups...
A few new cool vehicular type things would be neat, just not a saturated amount. TAGs really should remain the focus of the big stuff. If it ain't broke and all that.
That's because I couldn't hear it properly and didn't want to start a rumour that had no fire under the smoke. I did listen to that bit about 3 times though.
The news look interesting, expecially JSA gaining the spotlight: I always though they deserved so, even if I don't play them. They are very popular and, given the current lore, they deserve not to be considered like other merc companies. And making CC more important sounds logic, I saw too many times my Myrmidons (back when I played them, then I sold the whole sectorial) failing spectacularly what should have been an easy combat because of bad rolls. Also, it makes sense removing Code One entirely, if they find a way to integrate an easier approach in the main game itself: less book keeping, easier shifting to the main game. However, there are 3 things I'm worried about, since I'm not one of those who enjoy changes for changes sake: 1) Looks like this time the new edition is coming out in a shorter time: 4 years, rather than the previous 6 between N3 and N4. Coupled with the fact that, according to Carlos, this is not an overhaul as N4 was, was it really necessary to publish this new edition ruleset? 2) I always fear when they say "something will go away, something will come back", nobody likes to be put on the sidelines and it woukd be good if there was a way out of this Russian roulette that happens every time. And (I hope I'm wrong) I fear that Tohaa will be kept out of the spotlight again. 3) I like Infinity also because vehicles have a limited part in it. The lore kind of supports this, since TAGs and bikes are basically the only important vehicles you can see in the spec-ops missions that the game is based on. If they start putting land and air vehicles (maybe even water ones?), I think the battlefield could become a little too clustered. Not to mention, as you say, the whole new rules required. And of course the money and shelf space we would have to find ^^". Anyway, good video as always, keep up the good work 👍🏻.
It is often frustrating when your MA monster is against something average and the single dice roll fails you. Getting 2 units into contact just to increase the dice is a lot of effort - I wonder what the new mechanic will look like. I also don't like change for the sake of it, especially as I feel N4 is in such a good place. The vehicles one could be excellent (expanding vehicles slightly) or horrible if it creates model bloat and complexity. I'm also concerned about the slow releases. I remember GW doing the same and having to wait over a year for your rules to drop and how frustrating it was months later when yours was weaker than newer releases. We will see soon enough!
Is there a good way to take a snapshot of the N4 and Code One profiles/points/etc for future reference? I'm assuming the army builder will flip to N5 on release day, correct?
Sinical me wonders if we need a new edition? Why cant they release updates and patches like in N3? Feels very "on the hamster wheel" GW style of "GET NEW EDITION OUT!". I suppose its just a case of wait and see.
I think it's also becuse there have been enough small changes to the rules, introduced during the ITS seasons that they feel ready to integrate them into the main system. I'd also expect the Reinforcements rule to be integrated into the new edition more coherently and hopefully with some much needed modifications.
I have heard a rumor that they are "refining" the way armor saves work so that they are no longer the only "roll over" in the game. The weapons damage appears about the same but you roll under your "survival value" So a combi instead of being damage 13 will have a "survival" rating of 7. That and a close combat revamp and further integration of reinforcements (likely allowing them to play against non reinforcement lists easily) is enough major changes that a new edition is welcome. GW has to spam new editions because the company sees a major profit from increased interest and book sales. CB is riding the current excitement for the game and trying to ramp it up. And there are no "required" book sales.
Ditching code one is also a big shift and needing to integrate that into the rule set. As the seminar was at pains to convey this isn’t just about rules it’s a business shift to better planning around launches etc.
The N5 was announced in January after the French distributor who translates the game put its entire stock of Infinity books on sale. The French community called the manager a liar and a hallucinating idiot. And the international community was pretty much the same, with more insults when we tried to make an animation about it. So the first thing that's going to happen with the N5 is a toxic community.
Most change seems to get a negative reaction from the established community. The measure from success for CB over the next few years will likely be community growth and that doesn't come from staying stagnant. Poor distributor getting so much hate!
Love seeing the sudden boom for CB/Infinity since the show’s announcement!
Same, the animated series has done a lot to inject additional life into the community.
Having played since N1 its nice to see a new edition.
Get out of here with that positive attitude to new things. Don't you know you're on the internet?
Thanks for the summary.
So welcome
I would love to see different pilots for each tag... pilot A B C, with different profiles for themselves and modifying the tag slightly
Wow! Super cool idea.
That is such a cool idea. Might mean people use their pilots a lot more.
Cool idea but probably too complicated for tournament play.
@@HeyitsMartyn if we have other profiles that work similarly, I don't find hard the idea of having a guijia+pilot B. Or a Tikbalang+ pilot A
Boy am I super stoked about this box. Just the excuse I need to get JSA and get my friend into painting his own models with Pan O
Hahaha I know exactly what you mean. Having never collected Yu Jing and regretted it this might be my way in - to a small extent.
Thank you for the update. i love the n5 tease .. as Haqqislam Player, more Deadly Close Combat Sounds good „Husam Yasbir out“
You're welcome. Better close combat and a TV show featuring your faction, you must be loving what the future holds.
So interview in USA with main dude - preorders October - first stock hopefully November
Kind of glad code one is getting cut.
Did you not enjoy it?
I imagine if Tohaa gets a come back their vehicles would be mountable symbiobeasts! That would be awesome!
That would be madness! I love it.
Thats some pokemon scarlet type shit
Is CB going to put out a new Infinity Code One Set with the release of N5?
Sort of! Code One wont exist for N5 but its being replaced by Essentials. The new battle box with Pan O and JSA will be one of these sets.
Two sectorials (well, 1 new one and 1 that works already) is good. It was a struggle only having 1 for O12 for a bit.
@@the_infinitygamerI assume the new ' existing' sectoral will be so that all JSA lists currently still work and doesn't completely revert to a vanilla faction breaking all link teams
Which is such a sensible way of doing it.

I'm curious about this too.
Maybe they heard you talking about increasing the points of the O-Yorai to make the mechazoid better too 😂
I will be interested to see if there is an adjustment to the O-Yoroi - not long to wait!
Tnx
No problem at all

Exactly, will be interesting to see where this goes.
You forgot to mention that they changing wounds to vitality

Correct, they won't likely preserve the old stuff.
Yes more powerful guided missils
That's the spirit!

The big difference is with Infinity we don't need to pay for the new edition, so I have a bit more hope than with James Workshop!
