As an Iranian, I must say that H.R. truly has a very accurate and deep understanding of the oppressive and tyrannical regime in Iran.
This, in my opinion, is disheartening because while it’s clear that highly intelligent and perceptive individuals like him recognize the murderous and untrustworthy nature of this regime, there are still people who believe in negotiating and, as they call it, making peace with the Ayatollahs.
The truth, which the West faces but sometimes unfortunately overlooks, is that when the nuclear deal was signed with Iran, the regime used the funds to massacre the people of Yemen and Syria, and with what little remained, they stockpiled bullets to massacre us in 2019.
I hope that, at the very least, under this administration, the advice of smart individuals like him will make an impact and prevent the clerics from regaining power.
We, the people of Iran, don’t ask much of Americans.
Simply, if you refrain from financially supporting our killers, we would be deeply grateful.

Be not afraid, friend; soon there will be more secular people in your country than there are here in the US.
The days of this regime are numbered; it won't fall tomorrow, but fall it will.
It's just a matter of time.
When one man rules everybody suffers.

Yeah, I am not a vet, but my navy vet father discouraged me greatly from enlisting, as he did at my age. Racism wasn’t rampant per say, but getting a bunch of 18-25yos from all around America isn’t getting a fantastic bunch of dudes who:
      1. Will actually be able to treat women with respect (nor are avg enlisted women going to be able to help cultivate that environment)
      2. Promote not DEI, but understand basic ideas of how other Americans see the world and think. Blacks, Latinos, they have a specific experience, and might not be ok with certain things (even man-to-man humor aside, it doesn’t have to be woke or uber sensitive)
And let’s not forget the mess that military leadership can be at times. Which, happens everywhere, but sweeping concrete outside and BSing at work is a mess for morale when walking off the job gets you in legal trouble.

Ukraine needs admission into NATO to stop putin, or someone else, regrouping and to bring the military into modern European standards and away from the corruption and ineffectiveness of the old Soviet way. Admission would also not give putin an absolute win and the many Ukrainians who have sacrificed some meaning to their loss.
Putin must not benefit f4om his aggression.

    • @AlexisTurnette
      @AlexisTurnette 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

@@jarettmeyer4929 Well, one matter has to do with the timeline for the invasion of Ukraine. We know, by which I mean it can be firmly established, that by March 2021 Putin was already committed to the invasion afterwhich the wheels were put into motion for training, provisioning, supporting logistics, and operational evaluations which would all take place over the rest of that year. All of this precedes what occurred during the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Given how close that is to when Trump ended his first term it can be reasonably assumed that the plans for the invasion were being drawn up under his watch -or at the least being considered. Which means that it wouldn't have mattered who was President, that attack was taking place. It also means making deals with former enemies like the Taliban, ignoring China's activities in Hong Kong, and Trump's general antipathy of NATO as well as weakened relations with traditional allies, were all variables in the calculus Putin would have been taking into account at the time. I don't know if McMaster's is obfuscating or ignorant, I don't know if this is party work or personal bias, I can't speak to his motivations or sincerity, but I know for a fact what he is stating is untrue even if he doesn't. . .And that is only the first of his declarations I take objection to.

@@bfelinemaximusClearly, neither you nor Trump actually know anything about the Iran Nuclear Deal. It was a profoundly world-changing agreement between the world and Iran to ensure peace and eliminate fear. Russia, China, France, Germany, the UK and US negotatied jointly with the Iranians. One part of the deal allowed our inspectors (AKA spies) to live and work in Iran legally, watching the Iranian military bases and nuclear facilities and gathering local intelligence to ensure we knew every aspect of their nuclear program. So Trump cancelled it. Now, there is no control, no monitoring of IRan's nuclear program. Thanks a lot, Donald.

H.R. McMaster is a model for any military person who wants to be politically neutral.
In recent weeks, I've lost count of the number of Republican-sympathisers who avoid any implied criticism of Trump, and make trenchant attacks on Biden. They then say, I'm ex-military, so I am not politically partisan.
H.R. McMaster didn't do this. He praised Biden where praise was due. In Afghanistan, he acknowledged that responsibility for this was shared between two administrations. I can't think of any Republican-leaning ex-military who has been as fair-minded.

He doesn’t say that, nor do I think it’s implied. Just because he disagreed with the Doha deal, and the crack up pullout, does not mean he wants to be there forever.
Nation building is hard, but it was happening in Afghanistan. I’m not sure invading in the first place was the right answer, it is and was a tough area (many great empires have died there), but urbanities in Kabul were making progress. Doubtful an independent, standalone state would have been created in less than another 20 years, however. So if 20 years is “forever,” then maybe you have a point.
