When I was in Bangkok 25 years ago, I was so scared of Thai food, my first dinner was in Pizza Hut!! But after 2 months in Thailand I only ate Thai food.

I've been married to a Thai for 30+ years, who also happens to be a retired chef. I get all the Thai food I want. When in Thailand I eat Thai street food, the big mall food courts, little holes-in-the-wall mom and pop places, bug vendors. Do it all. But...... I also do exactly what you did. I make a point of going to the western fast food places to see and try what menu items are available that are not found at home (USA). It's all part of the experience.

Very occasionally I have got a McSpicy burger when I'm in Thailand or Singapore, but I have to be really hungry! They are actually spicy, but you can't beat street food for the fresh ingredients and flavours. Great video Paddy.

Mike's burgers on the klong. So exact copy of IN and Out I could not tell the difference (foodwise) and staff uniforms. I figured it as an In and Out test market store. Which they do often. Spicy Bar and Double Doubles every day for months, a wonder I am still alive!

The only "OG go to item" at Mc Donald's for me is the bathroom while traveling!
A toilet and the occasional free wifi outside that place are the only two things all these fast food places are good for.

@C'mon Man I'm sure you didn't just want to rant and have a civilized interaction without any name calling and didn't intend to come across like a #plagueofidiots. So you might be surprised (or not) to find out that these fast food places have no toilet attendants and no tip jars and that especially in the case of Mc Donald's their employees are not allowed to take any tips.
Youre right, if the lobby is even open one day to the next, even though everything is mostly open now and no masks. Last 2 times I went to BK in Las Vegas on main road, lady was like oh sorry we just closed the lobby, this was at like 4 in the afternoon. Every service has been slashed for profits, including the lobby!
But you review vegan pizza though….
I'm curious, do they do any vegan burgers at Burger King or McDonald's in Thailand? They do a really good vegan burger at Hungry Jack's in Australia now.

I haven't tried Thai Taco Bell yet (been a while since I've been to BKK where they exist), but I generally dislike all the Thai variants of American fast food (which I'm no big fan of either). The one exception is Texas Chicken (known as Church's Chicken in the US). Their wraps are actually edible. They are normally at the larger PTT service areas -- I've heard they have some near Hat Yai. Try it if you get a chance.
Texas chicken is actually a local fast food chain. It belongs to the PTT(OR) Group.

As far as Ronald Mc Donald the figure according to Adam, The Woo in America and for that matter the UK Ronald's been put out to grass he's not PC any more (As popular as Jimmy Savile) so I was surprised to him still used in Thailand still the Thai food menu said everything really, he's probably used as a distraction before being served that curry. And McyDs with real cutlery shut the front door!
I'm sure Paddy Ronald and the Colonel saunders were expecting a couple of five-star reviews if not I'm sure they would like to offer a joint house special "Thai spit roast extra spicy" served dry no sauce on the house!
I have the Burger King UK App with daily offers every Wednesday a whopper is £1.99......result!

I remember having a Pork Samurai burger at MacDonalds in Bangkok (in the late 90's). Somehow I do not think that a Pork Sword burger would be a marketing success in the UK. I could be wrong!!!!
I do remember in 2018 having some extremely nasty spiced rice concoction from KFC in CM. My girlfriend wanted some fast-food so we got that. It was foul!

The Chinese black truffles are much cheaper but they also are not the quality of the European ones. Using mushrooms to boost the flavor is not new.
Favorite fast food fix is the sausage egg and cheese croisant with tater tots at the Chiang Mai airport Burger King. They need some Popeyes franchises in LOS. They would love it.
