Aaron is lying. And as Scientologists would speak he's giving non-answers. He's been involved with Scientology for atleast 20 years. He worked as a paid staffer at Scientology's San Franscisco organization for more than a decade and he was on full time day staff for over 15 years. He joined staff after training as a public for two years. His first staff contract is from 2004. He trained as a supervisor at flag for two and a half years, and then eventually passed the supervisor test by recovering 30 students and then training them. (this is from Tony Ortega's Scientology website).
The information is out there online, and he is now the head of Scientology in SF. Just for lying like that I had to unsub from Braille. like...wow.

David Miscavige (the current leader of Scientology) went missing for two years in order to avoid being charged for human trafficking. His wife, Shelley Miscavige, has not been seen publically since 2007. Former members have committed suicide. Scientology is a cult.

this is a tricky one though to be honest. if he just starts having people on to grill them it might be hard to get guests. it would leave people wondering if they are next to be roasted or not. to be honest it could lead to some really great skate journalism it doesnt have to be aggressive. but i feel like lamont take a more nonchalant approach. for example none of the scientologists will talk to GH because they know he would spell out how fucked up everything is.

Scientology exists for the sole purpose of recruiting members, and then controlling every aspect of their members lives as a means to extract the maximum amount of wealth from them.
Aaron Kyro has donated almost $1m to the church of Scientology. He then proceeded to beg his fans $200k for a skate park.
Aaron Kyro is just one of the many examples that just proves why people dislike Scientology.

why do you not inform yourself about scientology before interviewing aaron kyro? he donated so much money and is pretty deep in there, obviosly he wont tell you why people call it a cult and obviously he will talk about it as if its just a nice fun community
The thing about people that belong to cults is that they genuinely don't believe they are in a cult. Dodging questions like this becomes second nature after a while, and his prominent position in the organisation definitely gives him an incentive to speak about it in a positive light. I have no doubt that being a member of the Church of Scientology has helped him with his business ventures, but there is definitely a darker side to the organisation that he likely doesn't have much personal experience with due to his loyalty and support.

This is a great example of the perfect interview for someone in Scientology because he was soft balled questions that he could easily give half-truths to.
You asked if he was the leader of Scientology in San Francisco, he said “I’m not a leader but I am I Scientologist” which is a lie. Sure, he isn’t a leader, he is an Executive Director. The photo you use of him in the thumbnail is from the announcement of him becoming an executive director.
The guy behind you pushed back on a few questions but not nearly enough to get Aaron to say anything of substance. Aaron didn’t address anything here, he just confirmed he was a scientologist and talked about how he got into it.

Not sure why he doesn't get back to his position within the church, it's such a missed opportunity. Sure he's not the 'leader of scientology' but he could explain rank and what his role is there a bit to dispel rumors. Most other religion church members can clarify their role and tasks very clearly and openly and not beat around the bush. Anyway I love braille and Aaron's mission to get more people into skating and have some very useful instructional video's online to get anybody going with the right advice. I do think he could have clarified that his membership doesn't mean braille is funneling any money to scientology, his personal donations and expenses may partially come from his earned income of braille but to be fair can be spent in any way he wants. Some people buy expensive cars for example. I think that's what needs to be said. If people don't feel good and have the idea they're indirectly supporting scientology financially it can impact the business and it's best if it's just clarified and addressed other than reconfirming he's a member and it got him to where he is today being introduced to self-improvement courses that worked for him.
Agreed but it does mean that us, the viewers have been helping scientology monetarily unintentionally, which sucks. I too love what Aaron has done to grow the skateboarding community, by the way.
