    This tool pays for itself the first time you use it. As others have said the tire changer works best when bolted down to your concrete floor. Below is a listing to items used in this video. Thanks for watching!
    New tires on my 2018 RAM 2500. Kumho Road Venture AT52 285/60R20 with Counteract Balancing Beads.

    So I watched the video to hear a description of how the tire changer worked. Seems like a video would be the perfect place to show how everything worked.

      @Madmaxd it's really pretty simple. If you need to watch start to finish check out the video of mounting my son's low profile 17 inch tires. I made that video because of comments like this one. Hope it helps.

    You know if you use tire paste when mounting the tire & apply it --> To the tire bead on both sides, on the backside of the lip of the tire, on the rim bead, and use the black bar that came with your HF tire changer, just use a wood clamp to hold the tire from spinning, and you can install your tire with ease in 1 minute. There IMO is no need for a duck bill mod. Unless, the duck bill mod prevents contact with the rim? Meaning no chance of scratching. Can you confirm the duck bill mod doesn't make contact with the rim ?

      @kendalgee5808 Thanks for the comment. The duckbill does make contact with the rim. It is nylon and I've noticed no scratches from it.

      @@mickeyj4228 Then there was no need for it. The only advantage ic is it is made out of Nylon, so perhaps that will prevent scratches. So maybe its be worth it. Eventually I will make a youtube video titled " Do you need a duckbill adapter " and show I can install a tire in 1 minute using the HF manual tire changer, tire bead paste, a Dewalt wood clamp, and the HF bar that came with the tire changer.

      The duckbill at $20 was worth it for me. For years, I've driven on the tire or used a bumper jack to break the bead and discounted and mounted them with tire irons. Do I need the duckbill? No, but it works great for me.

    After doing about 12 tires I noticed the holes in the bead breaker tube were starting to deform. I replace the tube with a piece of roll bar tubing and reenforced the bead breaker arms.

    I've got the pathfinder A/T tires on my truck, which are made by kuhmo and the tread pattern looks nearly identical. I've been pretty happy with those, still good traction almost 5 years later. What size concrete thread inserts did you use? been contemplating bolting mine to the floor when I want to use it.

      Thank you for your comment! I did 3/8 X 2 inch drop-in anchors. It tightened down great. I would do 2 1/2 inch if I were to do it again. Don't forget the anchor set tool.

      @@mickeyj4228 Thanks for the speedy reply. I also ordered a duck head adapter a guy makes and sells on eBay for use with this tire changer. I have several tires I need to change in the near future, really excited to see how it's going to work. Shouldn't take long to pay it all off with not only the amount I'm saving on mounting and balancing at $22 a tire but saving money on the tires too not buying he from a tire shop.

    So the center cone holds the wheel and prevents it from scratching the rim?

    • @mickeyj4228
      @mickeyj4228  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, it also centers the wheel, so the duck head stays alligned as you rotate it, removing and mounting the tire.

      @@mickeyj4228 Also you built the kit yourself or bought it?

      @AndreychukAndrey I built it myself. The duck head was $20.00 on Amazon. Bought the centering cone on Amazon as well. The rest was just some scrap I had in my garage.

    did you drill extra holes for the 8 lug ford wheels ? im thinking about doing my f250 tires on mine along with the duckbill attachment

    • @mickeyj4228
      @mickeyj4228  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your comment. No need to drill any holes. I just dropped the pin in the existing hole and tightened it down. I did use a centering cone. They are RAM 20 inch 8 lugs wheels.

    How are the balancing beads working?

    • @mickeyj4228
      @mickeyj4228  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great. I have run them in my motorhome for years. I have a slight vibration between 75 and 80 that also existed with previous tires that were road force balanced tires. The beads did not fix this. I think I have a rim wheel that is not true.

    I like how you dont show actually show mounting/demounting. And 4hrs worth of work? You must have a government job to make you used to standing around half the time.

      I made this for family and friends. I'm not paid by you or youtube. Do you really need that much handholding with such a simplistic process? You should keep giving the tire shops your money.

      @@mickeyj4228 Sorry to break it to you, but yours is not private video available to only friends and family. It’s public. Let me give you some great advice for the next time you want to make a video for your friends, text it to them. Additionally, why did you make the video for friends and family-to hear you drone on for 16 minutes without much substance with regard to how the tool works? And your logic about me preferring a tire shop over doing the work on my own doesn’t make much sense given that I clicked on a video about a DIY TIRE CHANGER. If I were interested in getting the work done at a tire shop, I would be over on Michelin’s or Firestone’s TH-cam page. Or, I’d, like, you know, just go to the tire shop. But I came here, to watch a video about a tire changer that I am interested in, and, unlike other pages who understand that people want to see how things work, you decided to offer a bunch of talking, to me, other TH-camrs, and, oh yea, your friends and family who are none the wiser because of this video. Great job at failing!

    If you clicked on this video to learn about the harbor freight tire changer, unless you plan on building yourself a jig to use in conjunction with the tire changer this video is just a complete waste of your time.

    • @mickeyj4228

      The video title "with Duck Head Mod" Unless you modify this tire changer with the "jig" as you call it you will destroy your wheels. The "duck head" side on the original handle is just junk.
