Harbor Freight Pittsburgh Black Manual Tire Changer, New Version 2.0
The optima being at 12.3V after charging says that it's pretty much dead so no, your charger didn't revive it. Even if the voltage had been around 12.8v where it should be, that still doesn't tell you that it's good, you'd need to test it to know. Have that battery properly tested and when you know that it's still no good, please remove or at least edit this so that people aren't falsely lured into buying the charger. I've tried a few chargers with a restore or repair mode and none of them worked very well, if at all. The only one I've tried that does work is the Renaissance charger, that thing has fixed dozens of batteries that were destined for recycling.
Thanks for your comment. These battery charges will not make a 6-year-old battery new again. The battery has been good enough to operate the 12-volt hitch jack and the lights inside my enclosed car trailer over the last few weeks.
I have used this charger from H F for over 15 years being in the car business 38 years, it has done wonders many times. I just bought my second one a year ago. I loaned my old one out and they never brought it back.
Thanks for your comment! My problem is I loan something out and forget who I loaned it to.
You just beating the shyt out of those rims with those metal bars! 🤣🤣
I took much better care than the local tire shop would have.
@@mickeyj4228 - Cant argue that too much!
Discount didnt line anything up with the new aluminum wheels i bought from them with the tires. One of the rims had twice what you had. Its ridiculous they dont trane employees so they can do the one job they have, mounting tires correctly
It is very frustrating!
I just bought this setup. I got the Hercules 20V bandsaw and then the stand setup. Overall, it's an awesome setup, but you need some type of clamp for metal on the base. I noticed that you also have two empty screw holes on the 1/4" plate. I was wondering what those are for. I guess they aren't needed. BTW, the Hercules version doesn't require any mods to the on/off switch bar. People should also know that where you place that screw in the on/off bar pivot, makes a difference. If you're too loose on the trigger, you won't get full speed. If you don't move the saw as forward as you can, you won't get a full cut width. So you have to play around with the adjustments to get max cut depth and a fully pressed trigger for full speed. I got the 3 pack blades from ACE hardware for 50% off using a coupon. $4 per blade. My total cost for the Hercules 20V bandsaw, 5AH battery, charger and stand was $200. Used the "buy a battery kit, get a free tool" and $89 for the stand. Amazing deal, great tool, the battery version means I can bring it anywhere.
Thank you for your comment! You got a great deal. Harbor freight sells the clamps for $9.99. At the top of page 10 in the instruction manual it shows the 2 holes on the plate are used with the Milwaukee band saws.
@@mickeyj4228 Ok, I didn't see that, they make the plates for many saws.

Very helpful, thanks!
@scott699 Thank you for your comment, Scott! Feel free to reach out with any questions or for any assistance.
Thanks for sharing your videos, I'm pretty much 100% sure I will getting the 11,000 lb lift you have due to the motor and the weight limit. I have a 2006 Chevy 2500 with a diesel that weighs 7,500 empty according to the local Cat Scales, and is somewhere around 6'6" to 6'8" so its probably pretty close to your Ram 2500 in height. My celing trusses' lowest point is 12'6" and is 13'6" at its highest point. I'm only 5'10" so I think my celing is high enough but I'd like your observations since you actually have this lift and a similar sized truck. Thanks in advance, Dave.
You should be fine. The top of the lift runways are about 4.5 inches off the deck. Please keep in touch and let me know if I can answer any other questions.
If you're still on the fence, today is the last day of the free air bridge jack. A $2k value. It has no problem lifting my Ram 2500.
This lift is not ALI rated and the company said they didn't submit it become certified which scared me off. I really did want it.
@ralphdoak990 The lift is built just like the 9000XLT but bigger and stronger. IIRC, it weighs 500 lbs more. The lack of ALI did not bother me at all. This lift is over-built and the quality is very obvious. It's not a complicated design.
Very nicely done, I like it Spot ON Thank You.
@@ForestGerstner thank you for your kind words!

You're welcome! Thank you for your comment.
Hey great information... But you could have told us what your method for removing that tire looked like a clean removal
Thanks for your comment! You're right and not the only person that asked for a better demonstration. I posted a video on 30 April 2024 removing and mounting a 17" low profile tire. I had my son make the video using my phone and tried to provide the details. The tire changer is now bolted to my garage floor which makes it much easier to use.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. We just picked up pusher with, and I likely need to address the slobber tube.... Also I am grateful to know in advance about how tight the oil filter will be to remove.
What's the issue with the slobber tube? The side of my oil pan has caked on oil, but I've never cleaned it and I have never seen oils spray anywhere. Buy the strap oil filter wrench I listed in the description. I would suggest sending off an oil analysis to Blackstone labs to get a baseline on your first oil change. Please feel free to reach out if I can help you in any way.
@@mickeyj4228 for my RV not yours I have a rear radiator and need to do something about my slobber tube before the radiator gets clogged up with oil and dirt.
Do you know if they made any changes to the black unit, as opposed to the red one they sold previously?
Thanks for your comment! They added a rubber protector where the wheel rests for bead breaking as well as a rubber pad to go under the wheel hold down spacer. The hold down spacer was also redesigned to be flat. The old style is a + shape welded to a round tube. The pin to keep the wheel from spinning is now a drop in on mine. I hope this makes sense.
Stupid video. Don't show how to use it or how it works just blabber on
The tire shop would have done 4 tires in the time you did 1. Why bother is what I say.
Here's some of my reasons. The cost here to mount 4 tires is $130. I've saved over $1K in mounting alone doing about 36 tires now. Tires are MUCH cheaper on Amazon with free delivery. It's a PIA taking my trailers to the tire shop. It's actually much faster when you consider the drive to the tire shop and the wait. The satisfaction of doing a job myself, on my schedule, instead of being dependent on others. If I did more tires, I would buy a Mayflower tire machine and balancer.
$25-$50 a tire is good enough reason for me!
Yes sir! I agree!
Saving £10 A Tyre 😂❤👍
@lynjames4306 and the most important savings is time. Thanks for watching.
Isn't there 2 hoses to the P.S. system, a supply and a return. Did you only have to replace one. That was a bear of a job. Kudos.
The return is low pressure. As you can tell from the mess, it was the high pressure that let go. Blessed that it happened at home.
Don't bother with balancing using bubble balancing and weights, use balance beads all the time. Perfect dynamic balancing for the life of the tire. Trust me, try it once, you'll never ever go back (and you can re-use the beads). Just make sure you put the right amount in.
Thank you for your comment. I use Counteract balance beads in my Ram 2500 and my motorhome. They are not recommended for low-profile tires.
@mickeyj4228 yep. This. Thanks for the vids.
Thanks for taking the time to post this video. It's very helpful.
I am glad that you found it helpful. Are you about to tackle this job?
@@mickeyj4228 I have a 1994 Winnie Vectra on a Oshkosh bus Chassis. The rusty steel line split right near a connect when I pulled it out of RV shed. So glad it happened in the driveway, like your situation. The bottom is open on mine, but the connection is partially blocked by the potable water tank. If connect was 1' toward the motor it would have been in the clear. Looks like line is steel to motor. I am a hobby mechanic but may pay a mobile mechanic to solve this one. Getting rusty connection off in an backward place is going to be a challenge. Might be easier to run the entire length new like you did.
@stevestarrett8754 running a new line is the way to go. IMO, 50/50 ATF and acetone is the best penetrant for rusty connection. You got this.
I have the same Senville LETO 9K unit installed a few months back, no problems yet. Time will tell. It was a very low cost unit so I do not expect a lot.
I'm sure your Leto will be fine. From my research, I must have gotten a lemon. The C&H app has a schedule function. I have it set to turn on for 2 hours, three times a week to exercise the unit since I don't use the garage every day.
Before your install day, did you check the levelness of your concrete pad with anything like a laser level or transit? I ordered a 9000-XLT (may upgrade to the 11000 after looking at the differences) and have a non level slab, out 1 degree i.e. slope in car length direction. The install manual states up to 3 degrees is OK which I question. I spoke with Bendpak and Advantage and they do not give me a 'warm fuzzy feeling' on how far out of 'flatness' the slab can be. I know there are cable adjustments but I wonder just how far the slab can be out before those adjustments will not work. Are there also adjustments with the locks themselves which can help?
Thanks for your comment. My RV slab is not level. It's off almost an inch the length of the lift. The cables can be adjusted at the top of each post and at the cable block under the runway. It's very easy. I raise the lift until the top of highest lock is level with the bottom of the lock cut out on the post, I then measure the other 3 locks. Next, I lower the lift onto the locks to take the weight of the cables and adjust each cable the length I measured. I hope this helps. I believe Advantage has a video on adjusting the cables.
Now do it without marring up the rim face and edges.
The duckbill is nylon . It has not damaged any rim that I've used it on
@@mickeyj4228 Not that part. It's all the metal tools you used.
On rims you are really concerned about place a micro-fiber cloth on the rim under the tool. Local tire stores here are charging $130.00 to mount 4 tires. Are they going to be more careful not to scratch your wheels than you would be?
Milton isn't going to be so nice to Floridians, compare to Helen... So hang on onto to your bridges😂😂😂

these are what we have in the uk, not bad machines, good video.
Thank you for your comment! They have become more popular in US households as well.
@@mickeyj4228 yeah they are good machines, in the uk this machine is branded as Hotpoint
Good info to know, thanks. We are looking at a rig with a 2007 5.9l ISB, purportedly able to do 300HP, and will have a good look at all the mechanicals before embarking on the road. What HP are you squeezing out of your engine and do you find that sufficient? Do you normally have a TOAD on with that?We hope to have a small sedan on a dolly to tow. Also, you mentioned scangauge; is that on normally displaying engine data while you are driving?
The ISC is a 8.3 big block, 350 hp and 1050 lbs torque. I tow a 2018 RAM 2500 that weighs 8300 lbs and a Dodge Dakota that weighs about 5000. They both tow the same.
I installed mine like this yesterday afternoon. Just waiting on my throttle cable.
It's a great engine!
You know if you use tire paste when mounting the tire & apply it --> To the tire bead on both sides, on the backside of the lip of the tire, on the rim bead, and use the black bar that came with your HF tire changer, just use a wood clamp to hold the tire from spinning, and you can install your tire with ease in 1 minute. There IMO is no need for a duck bill mod. Unless, the duck bill mod prevents contact with the rim? Meaning no chance of scratching. Can you confirm the duck bill mod doesn't make contact with the rim ?
@kendalgee5808 Thanks for the comment. The duckbill does make contact with the rim. It is nylon and I've noticed no scratches from it.
@@mickeyj4228 Then there was no need for it. The only advantage ic is it is made out of Nylon, so perhaps that will prevent scratches. So maybe its be worth it. Eventually I will make a youtube video titled " Do you need a duckbill adapter " and show I can install a tire in 1 minute using the HF manual tire changer, tire bead paste, a Dewalt wood clamp, and the HF bar that came with the tire changer.
The duckbill at $20 was worth it for me. For years, I've driven on the tire or used a bumper jack to break the bead and discounted and mounted them with tire irons. Do I need the duckbill? No, but it works great for me.
You can set it up to not make contact with the rim. It definitely will not damage rims or tires that you would with just a tire iron.
Thankyou for your sharing information
Thank you for taking the time to comment!
Now try this on a tire beed that has not been broken because this machine does not do it 😂
Thanks for your comment. I used the machine to break the bead on the 17 inch tire in this video, the 33" tires on 20" wheels on my Ram 2500 and over 30 other tires. I did have to reenforce the bead breaker. The secret is using soapy water on the bead. Do you own one of these tire changers?
No products are 100% all products will break down over time i am thinking of buying a advantage 9000hd lift main reason is no need to bolt to floor and i can move unit with caster without vehicle on lift and its god looking color , only one thing i don't like but would get use too is how slow it lifts and lowers i feel the price point fair market and i love that you can add accessories i wouldn't use the manual hand pump too slow i buy the air one , i feel the 4 post much safer over 2 post i saw 2 guy get killed on TH-cam when a rolls royce phantom fell on them , im sure there are some 4 post horror stories too it begins with common sense
Thank you for your comment! FYI, there is an Advantage Lifts owners support group on Facebook. Not many complaints to be found there. Are you buying the 9000HD due to its compact size? I have the 240V motor on my SS-11000-WD which may be faster that the 115V. I agree that the air bridge jack is the only way to go. It lifts my RAM 2500 Cummins diesel with ease. I agree that the price point is fair. I stepped up to the SS-11000-WD because I had the space and since this is an item I will only buy once, the cost difference was within my budget.
wow $119 for a gas spring and $10 of sheet steel. Did I see that right? JUST for the stand? I purchased the HF portable band saw (which has an electric motor ) for that much a few years ago.
$89.00 on sale with the coupon, but you're mot wrong. Inflation is real.
Did you not want to use the 5 year warranty it has?
@SEEMORE45 I installed it myself. The warranty is only valid if installed by a certified HVAC tech that will put ther name and license number on the warranty paperwork. HVAC Installers charge more than these units cost on Amazon.
So I watched the video to hear a description of how the tire changer worked. Seems like a video would be the perfect place to show how everything worked.
@Madmaxd it's really pretty simple. If you need to watch start to finish check out the video of mounting my son's low profile 17 inch tires. I made that video because of comments like this one. Hope it helps.
What an idiot 😂
Hey do u know how many amps that 240v motor requires?
Thank you for your comment! It requires 20 amps. The motor comes with a 6 ft or so long 3 wire with no plug. I added a standard 240V welder plug, NEMA-6-30P/6-50P. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for your comment! I'm glad this video helped. Take note or better yet take a picture of how the belt is routed on the tensioner.
What does the front axle weigh on your truck? I have '22 3500 SRW and front axle weight is 5380# and rear is 3680# with me in the truck and full fuel. I am looking for options to lift the truck with a tray jack.
Thanks for your comment! I'm not sure of my front axle weight. My truck empty going over the scales at the local dump is 8340# with me and 3/4 tank of fuel. Both the air bridge jack and the jack tray are rated at 4500#. I believe this is conservative for legal reasons. In my opinion the jack tray would easily support your truck. You could lift your truck using the jack using an air bag jack or bottle jack and support the truck with jack stands. I also believe the air bridge jack, with a high-volume air compressor would lift it as well. At the request of a viewer, I made a 5-minute video posted on my channel titled "Will the Advantage Lifts Rolling Air bridge Jack lift a 2500 RAM with the Cummins Diesel?" in which I show the jack lifting my truck and discuss my air setup.

Like it said first. Anyway dipstick don’t lie, check it running way below the add hot mark - checked it not running but 170+ degrees and it read add hot ? I’m I doing this right? So I’ve added 7 total quarts so far. Still says add hot 🤦♀️ looks like this Allison was bone dry!
It must have been very low. Go by the dipstick with the transmission at operating temp I just double checked a post I made when I changed the 2 transmission filters and upgraded to the Allison Transynd Fluid. I actually called Allison with my serial number to verify the filter kit part # and asked about capacity. The tech told me refill "by the book" is 17 qts. Some will be full at 16 and some may take 18gts. I put in 4 gallons, drove it until transmission was at operating temperature. Checked it and added one quart and it was full on the dipstick. On my next trip when stopped at a rest area I checked it with the control panel, and it was "OK"
Try using some tire lube my friend. It'll make the tires alot easier to get off and on
NVM I guess you did... Sorry bout that
Thank you for your comment! I'm always looking for tips!
Both are made by the same parent company, Midea. Bad luck on the Senville unit, enjoying my 24k Aura. The Aura unit is physically larger than the Leto series.
@@jesses1589 I do like the Cooper and Hunter app better. Thanks for your comment.
@@mickeyj4228 Thanks for sharing your experience too! I connected to Alexa, going no further app wise.Stay Cool!
4:53 - 6 liters /or inches. Must have been measured by a man. LMAO 😂
The fill is still H2O. I just did a lawnmower carb. Put carb in a wide mouth jar with gasoline. I came out perfect.
What kind of plug does the motor come with? I have nema 6-50r outlets in my shop that I use for my welders and plasma cutters. Just wondering if it can plug into that.
Thanks for your comment. The 240V motor has a 6 foot or so 3 wire with no plug. I added the standard 6-50P welder plug. Have you ordered your lift yet?
@@mickeyj4228 I'm still saving up for it. I have the money to purchase the dx 9000 xlt, but after watching your videos, I've decided to spend the extra few hundred dollars for the 11000-wd. Since this will be a once in a lifetime purchase.
@wnicorn6702 that was my thought.
@@mickeyj4228 is the receptacle connected to a 50 amp breaker? That's what my 6-50r is hooked up to. I'm not an electrician and don't want to burn down my shop lol.
@wnicorn6702 you'll be fine. The motor is only energized when you push the lift button. There is no chance of" burning down your shop", provided your outlet is wired correctly.
Do you think your Cummins would fit on the 9000 pound XLT? I have a Megacab that weighs 7800 empty and debating between the two lifts. According to the specs, your lift is only 4" longer but 10" wider.
@stevenewsam6698 I think the 9000XLT would be fine. The 9000XLT gives the option of moving one runway to outer holes to make it wider. I bought the SS-11000-WD just in case I needed to lift a dually, and the cost was just slightly more.
@@mickeyj4228 Thanks for the reply. A big difference, I think is the 115 volt motor on the 9000xlt vs the 230 volt motor on the ss11000. I’m looking at the BendPak vs the Advantage. BendPak offers 115 or 230 on their 9000 pound lift but Advantage does not from what I see. A 115 volt motor lifting the Cummins is a concern.
The 115 V motor will have no issues lifting the 2500 RAM with the Cummins. The 240V motor appears to be slightly faster in lifting. These lifts are "over built". My OCD was torn between the 9000XLT and the ss-11000-wd and decided on the 11K to "future proof" since this was a onetime purchase for me. I would have no concerns with the 9000XLT with the 115V motor.
@@mickeyj4228 Thanks. What did Advantage recommend for a breaker for your lift? I have a 40 amp welder receptacle in my shop.
The 240V motor recommends a 20 amp. It comes with a 6 ft or so wire with no plug. I installed the standard 3 prong male welder plug. It will be fine on your standard 240Vwelder receptacle. I actually use my lift with a welder plug to a RV 50 amp plug adapter. Have you decided on the ss-11000-wd?
I have one and love the handle idea. Do you have issues with it leaking from the bottom? Mine leaks from around the bottom of the hose.
@jrfan592 Thank you for your comment. I've never had any issues with it leaking. Is your leaking from the fitting?
@@mickeyj4228I think it’s leaking from where the hose connects to the fitting at the bottom, if not there then possibly the drain on the bottom. I need a new hose for it either way.
@jrfan592 maybe try adding a second clamp.
@@mickeyj4228 it had two fitting on it but I figured out the problem, it was the drain plug on the bottom. It was cockeyed af hahaha. I’m gonna make a video showing it in a bit.
@@jrfan592 I'll check out your video.
I thought you where going to lift the motorhome LOL
Thanks for the comment. I wish, lol. That would have been handy when I replaced the 40 ft long power steering hose.
can you orient the air jack handle to it doesnt get oily and nasty? I know my stuff on a lift is gross!
@SolarArrdvark13 thanks for your comment. It comes with 4 plastic drip trays. The jack is a rolling bridge jack so you could slide it back between the rear end and the transmission. The bridge jack tray also has a drain bolt. I hope I answered your question?
Do you think it's worth it to get a pair of these jacks? I know two would make tire rotations extremely easy, but just wondering if it's a justifiable expense. Thanks for the great videos.
Great setup! I bought the same system for my home shop last year. I can lift and service everything from my Polaris Ranger UTV, cars, 4WD Ram 1 ton crew cab dually diesel, and even my compact 50hp Bobcat Tractor! This 11000 can do it all...
Thank you for your comment! The Advantage ss-11000-wd has been perfect. I highly recommend it.
Just bought and installed this from this review and based on my five minutes of use so far, it’s perfect. Can’t go wrong with this at all. Only nitpick I have is the volume nob is a little smaller than I expected but no big deal.
@daypayton123 Thank you for your comment. I like it better than the $900 Pioneer I put in the wife's truck. Still amazed at the cost.
