    Does this also correct the leak from the top rear corner. Is there information on why jeep isnt taking responsibility? There a lot of flaws in tires of paying out of pocket for like this. Perfect video btw man, just enough background and explanation. You’re actually the first jeep related tuber I subscribed to

    • @SWBCrawler
      @SWBCrawler  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching, and subscribing! Glad you found the video useful! as far as I know, these seals ONLY address the leak at the windshield/body tub joint. However, if your other leak is coming from a worn out door seal, it _may_ help. I just cant say it definitely will. Sometimes upper door leaks come from the seals in the soft top bracketry around the door, or the seals that the freedom panels use at the top of the door. We put a bestop trektop glide on this jeep a few years ago, and it replaced all of those seals, so we dont have any issues there.

      Thanks for watching! These specifically fix the leak that happens right at that windshield frame seal, where it meets the door seal. Theyve done a great job for us, but if your leak is elsehwere, and just pools in the same place, your mileage may vary.

    Dude I did the exact same thing you did same part numbers replaced them myself still had the problem I finally yesterday figured out where my water was coming in it's the upper windshield seal on the very ends I literally had to go out there with a garden hose and just soak it The water was coming through the plastic and down the dash onto the floor crazy I'm not sure if I'm going to buy a new seal for the windshield yet or just put some silicone in there. My wife and I have a 2017 Chief edition

    Kind of ridiculous the dealer did not know about the updated door seals. That is how out of touch Jeep dealers really are, they only want your money to sell Jeeps, not deal with parts to actually fix issues that should of really been recalled from the factory, but Jeep does not see this as a safety issue, so they could care less.

      So far so good on these! It's been a while now since we installed these, they definitely improved the situation. We do sometimes get water inside, but we can usually blame that on the soft top not being seated properly on the tracks above the doors. I definitely would buy these again if I had a JK leaking at that windshield frame seal. But these are specifically to fix -that- problem, if your leak is elsehwere, they may not help.

      these have done the trick for me. they are meant to fix a very specific problem though. which i think is why even this video gets mixed reviews. these seals have extra ribs to channel water away from the problem area where that "button" cap is in the seal between the tub and the windshield. if that's not where your leak is or you've also got seal issues with the top or something else these won't help you. in our case we'd already replaced the top, so the seals there were all good. i knew that wasn't likely to be the problem.

      these are official mopar seals. the problem is that many dealerships don’t know that there’s a new design so they just install the same old flawed seals. we had ours replaced by the dealer once as well. in the video i show how to tell if you’ve got the new seals. if they don’t have the little fins that redirect water, it might be worth a shot. these fix a specific problem though. if your doors are leaking somewhere other than right at the spot where the windshield and the body connect, these seals might not fix your problem.

      the tj is an entirely different design. I don't know that they ever had redesigned seals (i also have an 05 tj). but with the age of these jeeps it might just be time to replace door and maybe top (if you have a soft top) seals. The tj is also more likely to leak in general. it's just an older design that's not as water tight as the jk and newer jeeps. That's not to say you should expect it to leak. mine is great no leaks at all. it's just that they're more prone to it.

    • @SWBCrawler

      all depends where your leak is. it fixed ours. i did have some leak after installing but it turned out to be some stuff that had built up where the door seal meets the body near the same area that this addresses. i cleaned that out and it fixed it. but there are lots of other places these jeeps can leak. these door seals only address the spot right where the windshield and body meet like i explained in the video. I’m sorry it didn’t work for you.

I looked at Amazon for Mopar seals but they are always out of stock, so I looked at Amazon's equivalents section where I found some 'Tikscience' listed, they were cheap but the correct part number with the AW, when they arrived they did not have that extra 'ribbing' that you describe so have returned to Amazon (no problem). Can you confirm that the AW should be the modified type when I again order, this time for the Mopar make when available. Great video, thanks in advance, Mike B.
