- Giraptors is a weird book that features a half-raptor, half-giraffe hybrid monster. That's all that needs to be said.

Of all animals, the writers chose a mammal as a match for raptor DNA rather than a bird. Imagine the horrors of a cassowary raptor hybrid
And it was mostly non aggressive one. The story will be more terrifying too if the author choose hippo, boar, or weasel
Cassowary? Dear (deity)! Those hell birds are half raptor already! How about something more...pleasant, like a Komodo dragon, or a Gila monster?
Cassowary raptors would be evil
I mean then you have completly normal raptor.
cassowary raptor hybrid? you mean a utahraptor?
I first laughed, then the true possibilities of a *Raptoraffe* began to horrify me…
Never underestimate the horror of Giraptors😂
I really needed to *Raptoraffe* my head around that
Girafftor?
Always wanted to ride a (normal) giraffe *if* possible and allowed. A giraffe with raptor head and claws on all four legs? *If* it was safe and friendly, riding it. Looks fun to try even.

That cover art just screams old school sci-fi or horror novel art to me I love it.
heck yeah i miss super cool graphic covers like that
I know, right? The art was very well done
If you gave it wings, it would be King Ghidorah
I want the people who made 'Sharknado' to read this story.
Imagine what kind of craziness they will be created. Or even there's a crossover between this with Sharknado
Dino volcano…
Honestly, a carnivorous giraffe would be pretty terrifying one its own.
One it's own
The Beak Things from Kenshi say hi.
Though those things are clearly derived from giant tortoises...
@@jessehutchingsthe super dinosaur is already tea rex who likes to eat plants.
As if giraffes weren't horrifying enough
The closest thing I can think of that's similar is the dinosaur that was infected by the plague of madness.
Never thought in the history of my entire existence on this planet would I ever hear about Giraptors. And yet here I am.
It sucks that movie companies just keep recycling films for cash grabs when gems like this are out there just waiting to be put to film.
I would watch this
Roger Corman is probably already looking to adapt this into a movie as we speak.
Give Corman 600$ and he'll have it done in 9 days
I kinda admire Roger Corman, nearly 100 years old and still making movies.
Even though it’s not a giant monster like Godzilla, Kaiju does translate to Strange Beast so, wouldn’t this technically mean its a kaiju novel?
There's that video of someone categorizing Paul bunyon as a kaiju.
I love how there is a complete and utter size inconsitency in the book and how the Giraptors seemingly spawn out of thin air. In one scene the Giraptors are big enough to crush a golf cart, strangle someone with their neck or decapitate with a single bite yet somehow they are small enough to fit in a souvenir shop and too tiny to simply hop over the closed gate of the park
The raptor serum is infused with teleportation particles.
This honestly feels like an Asylum movie script that got made into a book instead. And I'd love to see this be turned into a movie, made by the Asylum or even another studio. It fits that b movie campiness so well that I can see it being Sharknado's successor in that regard.
Oh yeah Sharknado. It started as very ilogical but pretty standard sci fi movie. But its sequels are so mind-blowingly crazy that it seems to changed the genre from sci fi into fantasy. And even for fantasy standard they're very weird and insane
14:57 This line has the same energy as “You are the species and I’m the extinction!” from Fairly Odd Parents
Hollywood doesn’t have the balls to make such a masterpiece
At first I thought this was covering the made up dinosaur species from one of the Dr. Dolittle books. It was described as a long necked dinosaur with giraffe horns.
Liking goosebumps makes sense. Girafftors really sounds like an insane goosebump concept that even Stine felt was too out there
Yea.... this definately sounds like something the Asylem would make.
Like a Budget Jurrasic Park meets the Island of Doctor Monroe
Morea
the Giraptor would be a great ghoulish evolution for the Pokemon Girafarig
Girafftor lol

I haven't watched this yet, but the aesthetic of these creatures reminds me of the Chinese mythological creature called a qilin, a sort of hoofed dragon faced deer which is, interestingly enough, associated with giraffes because famous voyager Zhang He brought giraffes back to China from Somali and the emperor declared the strange creature to be the mythical qilin.
And there's the alt title if its ever adapted.
This is why you should hire artists. Awesome cover and I guarantee you he had fun with this. I love it when clients ask me to draw weird stuff.
Hector Ortega's art for the Giraptors reminds me of Emily Stepp's dinosaur art.
same!
@@PoochieWooch Not the cover, the concept art.
As an author planning on a dinosaur-themed story to add to their next published anthology, I’m enjoying seeing what others have done in the genre. Thank you for uploading.
-Eli Hooker, published author.
Its honestly inspiring that a story like this exists, just goes to show anyone can make a book in an afternoon.
7:06
WOW... blaming an innocent lion for a crime it didn't commit.
Dogs get blamed all the time even now when an unknown predator is loose.
The giraptor kinda looks like a chinese qilin
Here’s a few ideas for topics you could cover in future videos:
-Dinosaur Erotica
-Bones of the Earth by Michael Swanwick
-Dinosaur Summer by Greg Bear
-Rivers of Time by L. Sprague De Camp
-Ray Bradbury’s dinosaur short stories
-Dinoverse series by Scott Ciencin
-Primitive War by Ethan Pettus
-Alley Oop
Dino Diego stated that he will NEVER cover dino erotica in this video.
@@WhatDillionYTWell I'm glad he specified that considering that the video we are watching was already recorded and uploaded. I can't imagine he has a time machine but maybe he does

Book 2: Koalagators!
Book 3:Beardoves!
Book 3: mosquiRoaches 🦟🪳
Book 4: Seagle (seal + eagle)
Book 5: Anacondshark!
Looking at the cover, I didn't expect saurian giraffe hybrid monsters to have pretty eyes.
This may be the best thing I've ever seen in TH-cam.
F jofferey.
I am 100% getting this and both moose dump volumes before they blow up. Kinda want a signed copy haha. So good.
Things with long tongues and necks are weird enough on their own but imagine one that would see you as prey. Granted I love giraffes and petting and feeding them at the zoo but being stalked by one is nightmare fuel.
In one cartoon series giraffes aren't native to Earth instead the Boiling Isles.
Gotta say, I’ve watched a lot of Asylum movies and other crappy horror movies like theirs, and this book sounds exactly like a script for one of their movies. I can even picture the movie in my head.
"now you guys might not know but im a nosy little Bit-"

What I'd give for someone to make a mod for ARK putting these beasties in
dear god, I hope someone gives them a movie deal! This is FANTASTIC b-horror, I loved every second of this video!
This needs to be turned into a movie.
"CHUCK'S DINOSAUR TINGLERS"
What?! You can't just put something like that on screen and keep moving on lol
God bless you, Diego. Between this and your exhaustive Dino-Riders documentary, you have more than made my week.
Damn, I'd love to see a Giraptors short film.
That would have so much meme potential if done faithfully.
By Crom this was a ride!, we need The Asylum to adapt it
That some freaky genetic creatures
The top two phrases I DID NOT expect when I subscribed to your channel: the first was Dinosaur Satan...and now Girraptor
These are the most out of pocket phrases that just DEMANDS context. And even when you receive the context you are left wondering what the creators were taking to create these bonker stories.
I am so glad I am here to experience this!
Not exactly sure if he has it, but I want to say it anyway:
Autistim, son! Nothing else in the world can replicate that!
(The actual stories, that is, not the guy reviving the story.)
I'm really glad you're not covering Chuck Tingle, ever, I really want to say I appreciate your decision
Like, you can't even call it "bad" because it's very clear it was this way very much on purpose.
I just realized since giraffes are canonically demons in _The Owl House_ there is potential here for an amazingly horrifying crossover.
the word "Giraptor" is now forever burned into my brain
Remind me of my old creations of animal hybrids
I love the fact you covered the Velocipastor... its a true c movie gem
These are definitely dragons.
Have you read the Destroyermen series? It's focus is mainly the crews of a pair of WWI era US Navy destroyers pressed into service in the WWII Pacific theatre that get transported to an alternate Earth where the dinosaurs didn't get wiped out. The main antagonists are more (for the leaders anyways) evolved raptors that have formed a large Darwinian might-makes-right empire, humans didn't become the dominant species and were replaced instead by lemurs. Its a great mix of alternate history and speculative evolution.
I've heard about it before, but I've yet to take the time to check it out. But it sounds really cool, so I might have to one of these days
Darwin never says "might makes right" in regards to animals.
Petty sure I’ve seen this thing on some furry’s deviantart page. :P
Those people will upload literally anything and I mean ANYTHING they find.
I would have thought an avian dino hybrid would be better
Better than a giraffe? No way
This needs to be a movie
I'm dead serious. This is exactly like what me and my friends who loved dinosaurs in elementary school would have written .. in elementary school. 🤣🤣🤣
Giraptors are not real and they can't hurt you...
Dino Diego:
Not YET anyway.
I am now thinking about Chimera of all kinds, maybe I need to revisit the video game Impossible Creatures. 🤔
If you're looking for something to review next, you should do Carnosaur. Not the Roger Corman movie, but the original 1984 novel by John Brosnan.
I may or may not have something up my sleeve for that book...
man this would make SUCH a good crappy bargain bin movie. the monster designs kind of rule honestly. it would be so awesome it would be so cool
Now I need a audiobook of this book.
Always wanted to ride a (normal) giraffe *if* possible and allowed. A giraffe with raptor head and claws on all four legs? *If* it was safe and friendly, riding it. Looks fun to try even.
I definitely understand Martinez point that this isn't satire or parody of schlocky monster scifi, it just *is* schlocky monster scifi. It's not like Sharknado or Velocipastor were made goofy by accident, they were already meant to be funny because they're silly. Parodying something that's already a joke is kind of missing the point, and there's really nothing wrong with making something that is silly on its own. It's uncommon in modern media, but it's entirely viable to tell a story that's just unserious and fun without making an overt parody or comedy.
Honestly the cover looks like a King Ghidorah fever dream.
This is the dumbest meth infused fever dream of a strory I've ever heard ... can someone please make this into a movie? 😂
I laughed so hard at the dino tinglers cover,I laughed so hard I ended up spitting my soda out my nose
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
I see stuff like this and yell "Hans get ze flammenwurfen!"
More dino horror novels out there!
Imagine if this is made into a movie
I imagine the Geoffrey death scene with the Wilhelm scream.
Yall want Asylum to make this, but to me this feels more like Metroshia. I mean, they made a movie called POST APOCALYPTIC COMMANDO SHARK all about a mad scientist that turned a person into a human/shark hybrid and sends it out to fight people, complete with horrid home film effects and acting, and overall its a good time.
So happy this wasn't called Giraffic Park
LMFAOOO
This make me remember those weird palm tree monsters from Final fantasy crystal chronicle.
The thumbnail reminded me of King Ghidorah from Godzilla
Oh My Gosh,
This is so much horrifying as the Jinmen itself
I cant believe they shot the giranitals
Honestly this is art, I want a movie about it,
More stories need characters that just deliver epic one liner after epic one liners
Great read loved the story and the concept art
I saw the thumbnail and just HAD to watch this
I didn't think about it the first time I've seen it, but it was to be expected that you would cover this.
Now this is good custom figurine material!!
I would sink an unreasonable amount of money for a Giraptors collectible figure
@DinoDiego16 I could make you one for cheap if you're interested.
@DinoDiego16 If you have Discord or Instagram we can talk more about it. I'm serious!
There are TH-cam crafting channels, North of the Border comes to mind, that could do a great job on something like this.
@@och70 there's also me...
The cops got the same type of dialog gta cops got 😂
holy mother of god "I am the asteroid"? man woke up and said "today, I'm the doom slayer"
Imagine if they did crabtors.
This makes Carnosaur look like a fever dream, a velociraptor combined with a giraffe that's a crime against nature
A masterpiece
Honestly, this sounds like a masterpiece parody of Jurassic Park and I might have to actually read this lol
when I was a kid, I Thought Brontosaurus evolved into giraffes
Low-key same
Would love to see a movie of this sounds really good
This was one of the doofiest and weirdest things I have ever listened to, and I regret nothing! This was hilarious!

Part2: Giraptogator
I wish there was audiobook of this it sounds crazy
Imagine if this was into a movie
The giraffes were on the Ren and
Stimpy game at the zoo😂
This sounds rad.
I went into this wondering if one or both of the authors had a fear of giraffes; it honestly wouldn't be the strangest phobia I've heard of; & now I know what Kamilopardaliphobia is. Apparently Eminem has it too.
I wonder if a fear of giraffes can occur at a Safari park also?
I was wondering what kind of wierdo would come up with this idea and the guy that got described was basically me down to a T
Missed opportunity to call it Giraptor.
What a story. As a long time fan of those campy Asylum movies like Raptor Island, I would actually love to see this adapted to a TV film for the SyFy channel.
The only dinosaur horror I've ever personally read was Devour. I was wondering if you'd read it, and if you had, what your thoughts on the book were?
Well that’s something I’d didn’t expect to see
