Steel Panther did this with me back in 2008. I played bass and another fan played drums on “You Really Got Me”. It was one of the best experiences of my life.
I was the understudy to their tambourine player for 3 weeks back in 2012. The grueling schedule wore me out, so I was replaced. I’ve never lived it down.

I hate Steel Panther. They are a joke band but they try to come across as not a joke band. So, are they Spinal Tap or a genuine band? Don't mock a musical genre and culture.

For sure! I got a bit apprehensive when right after the solo the guitar came in a 1/4 note late hahah, but somehow it got fixed seamlessly; if you didn't know the song (or weren't listening closely) you wouldn't even notice anything was off. Amazing job! And that of course doesn't take away from the fact that the dude KILLED it, especially playing live for such a crowd... Amazing job!
This is what makes the Panthers awesome. Awesome fucking fans man. Met them in Sydney very nice bunch of blokes. And this sounds better than Van Halen.
What a great time. Just love when bands invite fans up onstage to play or sing a song and the fan actually kills it. However, weather the fan "kills it" or not it's an awesome time when everyone is just having a blast. Later.
