Hey luke my s5ii works in tether mode with just a usb-c cable, and the LUMIX Webcam software, in mac.
Yes it does! I just installed this today and works beautiful with OBS. Haven't tried it with other software's but I'm positive it does.
How good is the quality from it with a usb-c cable? Is it still 4k60 or 4k30?
hello ricardo, does the lumix s5ii works diretcly as a webcam with only a USB-C cable and also charges? because i was going to buy the s5iix but i wanted the cheaper version.
Thank you
@@WillyMounayes it does,
Thanks Luke
LL Cool Cam, out here saving one camera man at a time 🙌🏼
🤣 I try my best 👍👍
Do you know how to get the Lumix camera to work with Streamyard? I am struggling with my Lumix g9. Streamyard is not recognizing my camera at all. Are there any particular programs I need to download? I have the Lumix Tether 2.6 downloaded and the Lumix webcam beta.
Hi, unfortunately I've not used the Lumix camera with streamyard. I'm guessing it's failing to discover the camera as a video source. You might do better with a HDMI to USB card like in this video. Hope this help 🙏
Hey Luke now that you've had a chance to use this, do you have any problems with latency? I tried exactly this technique with my GH5, and the delay makes it completely unusable.
Hey, I think there was some latency but it didn't bother me too much. However, if I was working with this set up often, maybe I'd think differently. Thanks for your comment 🙂
Hi Luke
Excellent video. Thank you. Tether mode on a Mac Mini 2018 (intel i7) running Sonoma 14.4 with my S5iix was very unstable and did not work at all as a webcam for Zoom, Facetime, or Camo Studio etc. I am not sure how much Camo Studio presented a conflict. With the Video Card my S5iix showed up on OBS itself but Camo Studio took over in Zoom etc.
Panasonic webcam software did not work at all. Maybe one day I'll try Panasonic's software on my Mac Studio M2 and see if the higher spec hardware makes a difference but it currently reserved for post production.
Until then I am happy to have my camera work on my current setup as a webcam at all. Thanks again Luke. Good luck!
It's pretty obvious it's handheld tbh, gimbals and sliders are still pretty important for orbit shots etc. But panasonic lets me do tripod shots handheld, that didn't work with sony.
Why do people care about image quality so much, yet even filming from home in Zoom calls they are happy for the image to look like a dog's dinner?
I have an S5 which i bought to use as a Webcam. But it doesn't seem to work with Zoom on either Windows, Mac or Linux. Had buy a Sony ASPC. So it sounds like i could have bought an S5iiX
Will look out for more videos like this. Thanks
Does this make the video quality 4k?
Yeah, it just sending out whatever settings you have the camera set to. But make sure to set OBS to 4k too.
Do I need a dummy battery?
For long REC sessions, it's gonna make things much easier I think, bc otherwise the USB C port will be used for charging instead of tethering in case of this way of REC, or REC to SSD if it's in a format not allowed in SD cards.
& even when not using it for anything, it's better in the long run to use the USB C port & batteries - for longevity, by charging through the dummy rather than the USB port, which is used for many other stuff...
Depends on the situation, not always needed (basically, if you don't need the USB port it's available for PD 9V*3A=27W charging ideally), but IMHO a tool to have your hand on for versatility & practicality .
You speak of s4ii and s4iix? It’s s5
The camera used in the videi is the Lumix S5II.
Thats a bad lag
Using a fake British accent is CRRRRAAAZYYYY
