Taking Down A Big Tree

  • Taking down the big tree and trying to light the brush on fire. I use the ripper to drop the big tree but have some issues with the GoPro Hero 8 shaking real bad so that's annoying. Then I had a tough time getting the fire to light since this stuff is so wet and green. I have a better plan of attack the next day. I'm also learning from watching these I'm not super efficient at clearing brush lol. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #clearing

Aluminum pump sprayer with old motor oil is your friend. We spray it all over to help it burn. We also have plastic jugs full too. Throw them on top and they will melt and run down through to pile.

I have watched so many people struggle to get a good fire going. It's not just because the wood is wet and green. That this fire was a struggle. Forest fires burn all the time with green wet wood. The difference is all in building heat. Heat will ignite even green wet wood. If you don't have enough dry material to get heat going. Then you have two choices. Either wait until you do or bring it in. My best recommendation is to use a container for liquid fuel. If you don't contain liquid. It just spreads and isn't effective at getting hot enough. I would recommend using a cut off 55 gallon drum. Then place the diesel fuel in it. This will concentrate the fuel concentrating the heat. The heat dries the wood allowing it to burn. Just a suggestion. God bless
