  • Cutting in a ditch with the Takeuchi TB260 along the track. This was the area where I thinned out the trees and is still a low point so I'm going back and grading a ditch to help the water drain out of the area and hopefully some day get it dry out. The track guys haven't showed up yet so I thought it was a good time to get it done. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #cuttingaditch

    I own a 60 and I love it, I tear out a bunch of concrete everyday, five days a week. It’s Three years old but it still like brand new, we also own a 40 we use for Concrete as well. I have found there isn’t anything thing Machine can’t handle. I ordered a 90. That piece of Iron should be here next month the sale guy is saying. I bought all four Takeuchi from Alta Rental and Sale I fella by the name of Jason Glass I fast talking salesman but he is good and has a ton of contacts and he know what he is doing they are located I know in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky. A few other states as well but I just don’t know. I just came home from East Tennessee visiting Family but we work on AutoZones all over Ohio and West Tennessee also Dollar Generals all over Michigan and Indiana.

      Yea your about 1/2% fall. Don’t worry, the water over time will fill and cut any highs and lows. Only so much you can do with the terrain your given.

    You know what they ought to do? Put a pond on both sides of the track there! Maybe build a beaver lodge in the middle of one of them. Maybe on the other side alligators. Fake ones of course. The ponds might even attract ducks and geese.
    The first great idea is free! The next one might come with a small fee. You're welcome!

    A swale is a lot better than a ditch... it’ll move more water and, you can keep the water further away from the roadbed. Don’t you think?
    New company slogan: Elite Swamp Works... alligators or not... we’ll bust our a$$ to drain ‘em!
    I went by tonight. They have a bunch of tracks down! Did you get any videos yet? I wanted to go by today and watch but, I had to pick up a new beagle.

    Ohhhhh man!! If only one corner of the property had a big drop you could funnel everything to. They don’t want trees removed out in the middle but unfortunately it looks like the beginnings of a ditch system to take all the water away to a detention pond of sorts that will catch the heavy rainwater, but slowly drain off further on. The ditch system needs a point to keep flowing to thats low enough and far enough to take all that water right near the tracks away, but that land is so flat. It’s almost something that needs to be engineered (ugly words, I know,,,, $$$, time and changing decisions as you go,,,,, heh heh). Trees will have to come down in order to put this drainage system in!! Necessary evils. Hopefully the client sees it as such. They can’t half ass this one or they will be fighting wet railways and changing terrain underneath forever! Small piece of land that will maybe require miles of ditches to one or two drainage points a couple or even few hundred yards away. It can look good when done, but swaths of trees will need to be removed to install that,,,,,,
    I’m no engineer, but I do know it takes a definite plan. We messed with guessing where to put ditches to remove water from some potential grazing land for probably 12 years and then I said screw it and brought an engineering firm in to help out,,,,,,. Well we filled in as many ditches as we created,,,. Once the work was complete we had an excellent plot of land! It was a little over 300 acres that went from worthless to very valuable. In our case we got our $$ back and then some when we sold the property plus the benefit and earnings that extra grazing land made us over the 20+ years we grazed it, hunted it etc. There was a nice, huge “natural” pond that formed in a low spot we sent the water to. It was fun riding dirt bikes on those ditch banks though!
    How does that go, in for a penny, in for a dollar (dime)? Hahaha. Good luck on that one! Flashbacks to some sleepless nights and one whopping big gamble/loan!!! Hopefully there is a better solution to your situation, different terrain, different soils etc.

    • @eliteearthworksllc
      @eliteearthworksllc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That sounds like it paid off for sure. Sometimes that’s the best thing to do money well spent, drainage issues can cost a fortune so it’s nice to not have to do them multiple times. Glad it worked out for you. Appreciate the comment and you watching 👍🏻

      @@eliteearthworksllc - it was much more affordable to do a big project like that back then it seems as well. Yeah we did alright on that piece of land. It bordered the neighbour and he had been trying to buy it for years. Finally he threw a ridiculous offer at it. Prices were rising that fast at the time he felt he would still be to the good in 5-10 years if he paid 20% over market on it. He was right and I did better than I ever expected so a win/win situation. I was that lucky on all the land. Timing was good. In fact for those that bought the land,,,,, if I waited until this year for selling the land it’s conceivable that I would have made about $3 million CAD more! I couldn’t have ranched any more so it was the right time to go. I got lucky on the sale of my last acreage (21 acres) as well due to adding a 3 acre pond/lake. They just stocked it with trout this spring! See how it does. I have an open invite to fish the lake!! Wait for the fall feed fest the trout tend to do!! Haha.
      I know you are busy Brandon. I understand if you don’t reply. Take care of yourself and that family of yours!!
