Back in the 70's this would have been considered a muscle car. I love my 2020 F150 King Ranch. I traded out of a 2013 F150 Platinum with the 5.0, no comparison. I have been driving V8s since the 60's, never thought I would get a V6, let alone be this happy with it. On the highway at 80MPH the engine is only turning 2000RPM. And it has power to spare. I get 22MPG on the HWY at 80MPH. Great engine.
I love the ambient lighting in my 2017 platinum. Didn't realize it wasn't in the later trucks. Still a nice truck man

I have a 17 Lariat fully loaded and I like it a lot!!, and I still have the ambient lighting, and that 3.5 is a beast!

Hi Jorge - I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos. I just traded in my 2016 2.7 liter for a 2018 3.5 liter. As fun as it was to drive, the 2.7 seemed to struggle a bit with towing my 6500 pound camper, especially when the whole family and the dog was on board. I can't wait to pull the camper this coming Spring with the new 10 speed!

Great video! I got the 2017 F-150 STX version and is perfect for my needs, just turned 8k miles. Even the 2.7 ecoboost is plenty powerful and around town in hilly Gloucester, Ma I avg. 17.5 mpg! I take my dog a lot and she tracks dirt & mud onto the center console so I have a towel that covers the storage cover. Maybe that's a solution to that stitching you rest your arm on.

Nice video, I traded my 2008 superduty in 2013 for a 150 but 3 years later I traded it for a 2016 F350 Plantium . I will never go back to a 150 again. It was a good truck , once u drive a superduty they are a hard truck to down size from.
I can totally see that! My 2018 F-150 is my first full-size and I won't ever NOT have a truck. So, can def see the same once you go with SD.
Better get the WeatherTech rubber floor mats before it's too late!

I have the 2015 Lariat and posted my 3-year review a few months ago. I thought I would give a point by point response to your comments, Here they are, yes I like the ambient lighting, it is a nice feature, sorry they took it out. I would/will not buy a turbo, I love the 5.0, when the new models come out in 20 or 21 I'll replace this truck but only with a 5.0, I hope Ford is listening. I really want to buy the new Bronco for my wife but I WILL NOT if it has only a turbo engine. The Auto High beam is worthless, driving out in the country when you come into a curve, the road warning signs will falsely trigger the high beam to low, JUST WHEN YOU WANT THE MOST LIGHT. I'm glad you can turn that "feature off" Thanks for the sales pitch but most F-150 owners don't need it. YES, I ALSO LOVE MY TRUCK. 😁😁

Love the redish leather interior, I could only afford the STX with the 2.7 Crew 4wd ecoboost, but honestly could not like the truck anymore than I do, got gobs of power, gets 20.4 mpg around town and is very very quiet! Even my brother n law loves driving my F150 and he’s a Chevy guy, got him talking about maybe going to 3.5 in his next truck. Sure I wish mine had a lil nicer interior, but the STX was what I could afford and even the wife loves it, she gets behind the wheel and the MPG’s drop, she loves the Turbos a little to much! Don’t over look the lower XL trucks, lots of good things in a way cheaper package. By the way awesome review, I love dreaming.
Nice job converting a Chevy guy into a Ford Guy high five. I'm personally looking into the 2.7 XL STX package because I like that Grill and the painted bumpers, and I actually do like the interior the way it is. I'm looking at the lightning blue one I would like to do a leveling kit on some 33" fuel wheels
I'm a Subaru technician in Colorado. Grow up in Texas raised on F-150 trucks. Just this week I traded in my 2017 Subaru forester XT for a 2019 F-150 4x4 XLT with sport package and 3.5 EB supercrew. I couldn't be happier. The wife is loving the room, comfort, and power.

I get the xlt 3.3 v6 and I loved
Got the 3.5 eco in my 2018 XTL. love the power but have to baby it oil changes every 3000 miles and I do not drive it hard a lot because it is a Twin Turbo and it will burn out quicker than an NA engine. but the headlight on base models suck.
2.7 here and can’t imagine the 3.5 could be a whole lot better. Love the interior of your truck, would love to do my lowly STX in Katzkins leather the same color. moon roof is ok , but a few time my wife and I have left her CRV’s open and the rains come and wet interior.
Your gripe on the ambient lighting is spot on. I don’t understand why they would remove a feature they’ve been doing for 15 years (my 05 mustang has the ability to change gauge colours, so did my 16 gt and my other personal vehicles). Surprised that they took this out, waiting on delivery of my 20 lariat. Bummed I can’t change the colours
My biggest complaint with the interior is the placement of the grab handle. If the passenger grabs the handle they block the side mirror. It should be right above the window for that reason plus it is more convenient and usable.
I am totally on board with you on the loss of the ambient lighting feature. My 2015 F150 Lariat had it and i really liked being able to change the color. My 2019 Lariat does not and I am a bit disappointed that they took that out.
HAHA...TOTALLY agree with the center console stitching!! And for the same reason. Gotta find the sweet spot so it doesn't hurt my elbow. Also agree with Sync-3 graphics, too.
2.7 ecoboost. Love it.
What a gorgeous truck. Love the blue color. Interior is nice, but I'm more of a fan of the black. I do know what you mean about having some contrast though, and it looks nice, just not for me. I do have to disagree with the buttons on the Sync. I enjoy simple and easy to use. They're not complicated, easy to pick out while driving down the road, so I actually like that. Ford's fit and finish of all automobiles has always been superb. Looks awesome Jorge, enjoy that beauty.

Im thinking about getting a 2019 ford f-150 limited. Have you heard of any problems with that engine or transmission. Love your detailed content, keep it up!
@behexen250 My '19 Lariat is my 3rd 3.5 Eco and I am still really liking this engine. I will be quite disappointed if Ford has not fixed that frozen lock problem by now. I had the TSB/Recall done on both my previous F150's and it seemed to fix the problem but I would expect for Ford to make a permanent engineering change. It can't be cheap to bring in every truck for a recall repair. I'll know for sure in about 4 months!
Loved your delivery and personality, didn't come off as a douchebag like other salesmen I've watched. Also as a salesman I'm surprised you don't know about the forscan tool. You can change your sync 3 graphics to whatever Ford vehicle you like, Lincoln, raptor, GT, or whatever.
Great review Jorge, I test drove a new 19 Ram before I traded in my 16 limited and was very happy with the interior and ride but the performance sucked bad so I bought the 18 limited and just love the EcoBoost and will never buy another v8 ..
THANKS.... once you go EcoBoost you dont got back. I had a 5.0 in 2012 and even after all engine test drives I do; I still enjoy the 3.5 the best. Take care my friend!

How does the new ram interior and ride quality feel compared to your 18?
If you haven't considered getting a tune on that 3.5, DO IT!! I went with the N-Gauge from 5 Star tuning. Just tuned mine today to an E50 tune (was running a 93 Octane tune). OMG!! The difference between it and the 93 tune is as much as it was between stock and 93. WOW WOW WOW!!!! VERY close to Hellcat numbers (torque is actually more).
Hi Jorge, love the videos. I purchased my 2018 f-150 fx4 5.0 in November. I had previously owned a 2014 f-150 Limited with the 3.5L engine. I can truly say that both of these engines are amazing and you cant go wrong with either one. It is definitely a preference thing, because both engines perform outstanding. I would have to say I like the V8 more, at the moment. Maybe it's because I am still in the 'honeymoon' stage with this truck, but that V8 Coyote sound cannot be beat! I added a Borla exhaust system to it, also, so the whole world can here it purr. Cheers!

Dennis- I just bought the same truck - love it; how do you like the Borla exhaust compared to stock?
Michael Kcaye, honestly, no. I still have less than 2000 miles on the truck, so maybe that is why? But, so far so good.
Joel Fox, I love it. I wasn't trying to piss off the entire neighborhood and be obnoxiously loud, so I went with the Borla Stinger S-type, which is their middle of the road for loudness. It gives it a very deep and throaty sound that we love from the 5.0, but at highway cruising speeds, the cabin noise is very minimal. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
I have the 2018 2.7 eco 4×4 love this truck, now keep in mind I went from my 1995 f-250 4×4 with a 460 with that being said this little eco is so much more in all categories, I tow the same trailer as far as lbs, and length,2017forest river v-nose 28' 8300 lbs only mods are the air bags under rear. better mpg, quicker response from start to stop and over all handling way better.
Love this truck fun to drive every time like being 16 again and still smoking them rams and bowties..
Oh ya I also put some new wheels and tires under her.cooper evolution m/t's 295/70/r18 with some fuell wheels

Hi George, thank you for the video. I bumped onto your video and immediately subscribed your channel. I have got 2019 F150 Platinum which is basically the same as yours. It is one year old with 10 k miles. However it came with only ONE key fob without any other keys! My questions are:
1. Do I need to get a second key fob?
2. What other key(s) does my truck have?
3. What are my options in getting the key fob and key?
4. How can I get the original window sale sticker from a dealer?
I have a 2017 XLT same color, I love the 36 gal fuel tank except when it is finally time to fill. Charcoal Int., 3.5, Full moon roof, Trailer package, 4X4. I traded in my 05 F150 stepside with the 5.4 V8, the 3.5 out performs it in every way.
My only major complaint is the 5.5' box, It's sad when you can't bring home a tv in a pickup truck.

I like 2.7 EB, for the price I think the 2.7 EB is awesome, I wish they have lariat in that engine.

Do the Lincoln display I described on another of your videos. It says Lincoln on power off but it will match your interior and 17 and up 3.5 is the gen 2 that is completely redesigned. You can find the sync 3 display mod on youtube

The ambient lighting is a big gripe with me. Every Ford or Lincoln I've owned had it. Hard to believe a truck like the Raptor doesn't have it. It can be installed using 2017 parts, but it's a lot of work. There's a long thread on F-150 forums listing the parts needed to make the change. I like the 3.5, had in my 17 Explorer and 12 MKT. The Raptor version is even better. Not sure about the 10 speed trans. I think I may have the 3-4 harsh upshift some are complaining about. I bought a SCAB so only have the single moonroof. Wouldn't buy without one. Glad I didn't wait for the 19 as they no longer have it.

I have a 2016 Ford F150 lariat my truck has a 2.7 L eco-boost motor and I love it very smooth very refined I does everything well If the truck got stolen or wrecked I turn around to go get the same truck all over again.
Glad to hear it. We do sell a lot of 2.7's and specially since most manufacturers are going away from the bigger block engines. I have an ecoboost as well and will not go to another engine either!

Changes are definatley coming. Hybrid and electric f150s... I think these changes and body style are coming in 2020 as 2021 models

2018 F-150 Platinum here (identical to yours...color and all). 5000 miles so far and LOVING it!! Just installed an E50 tune from 5 Star...HOLY COW!!!

Ask Jorge Lopez at Tomball Ford I had a 2014 XLT with the Coyote 5.0 and Magnaflow duals and was awesome. I test drove a 2018 Lariat FX4 Supercrew with the 3.5 Ecoboost , and traded my 2014 that day, and it only had 50K on it...... The 3.5 Eco is SO MUCH MORE RESPONSIVE and will frigging fly.... Love it !

2.7 and 3.5 e boost engines are to small for big vehicle it's response good but damage quickly I personally prefer the V8 More biger and less rpm went I go 65 mph
I hated that sunroom to big to heavy over the head
oh man, I love mine. Never had a problem
2015 f150 fx4 with the 5.0. Same color. I love the blue Jean metallic. I have almost 80,000 trouble free miles, pulling horse trailer, tractors , etc. I drove all 3 engines when I bought this one and thought they all were very similar in feel, power, and fuel economy so I went with the 5.0. Went on a long trip to Yellowstone and was getting over 22 mpg going 80mph. Depending on your driving needs don’t think you can wrong with any of the engines. My 2004 F150 before this one had 190,000 miles when I sold it to get this one. Thanks for the review

Ford has set up Grief Counselors at all major Ford dealership's around the country because their, what's wrong with my Truck hotline is overloaded
Jorge, I ordered a custom center console cover from this place (see url below) and even had the word PLATINUM stitched in. This alleviated the issue of my arm getting rashed from the stitching and reduced the wear and tear of the console itself. You get two options on material, fleece or neoprene. I recommend neoprene as it’s waterproof.

I respect your decision but man, we have sold tons of ecobost with little to no problems in most cases. Even the v8 has had some hiccups.
Jorge, I appreciate your kind response. I'm glad the eco boost engines are doing well. But please remember this: some months ago I believe you (or perhaps another youtuber) did a video in which you canvassed mechanics at the dealership and virtually all of them indicated a preference for the V8. It's not just a question of performance but also one about longevity and repair cost once something goes wrong. Good luck my friend.
