Mine is open. New belts are on. Just waiting on my volume knob now. This video has been a blessing so thanks for uploading it. I've got a few issues now the decks playing in that it will play sound in wide and mono mode but not stereo. Right channel is weak on tape but brilliant on radio. The joys of old boxes!
I just repaired the main drive belt and the smaler one near the main drive belt, WITHOUT taking out the chassis as was done in this video, its not needed. Just remove the screws holding the main PCB on the right side, then about 3 screws holding the capstan bearing, and the plate lifts off. No need to unsolder or disconnect anything !
I was considering doing the same thing. However, the tape counter belt needs replacing as well and does not look to be able to be done without taking the main chassis out. Did you replace the counter belt too?
hi, just started to take my aiwa TPR -950 k and have the same problem the cassette belts are gone but i have a problem finding the drive belts on the net and can you give me the size and were to get from . cheer pin
I'm still having issues with tape playback. I have stereo on the radio but not on the tape. It seems the left channel only works. I have tried cleaning up the record bar on the inside and all the potentiometers. Not sure what to try next and at a bit of a loose end. Can you recommend anything?
Follow the music signal from the head's to the amplifier. Also clean the function switch. check the motherboard from cracked tracings and oralso re-flow the solderjoints on the main board as sometimes a cold solder joint wont pass the electrical signal. remember these box's get jostled about so look for stress in the electrical connections in the circuit you are try to get signal from-to.

toomanycastles just takes a double stack Six p i n 20 k o h m when I get home I'll try and find a link it need a long stalk don't get the short one
