Seconded, my ears ring non stop and it drives me crazy. It's not a joke, wear ear plugs at shows, and play at sane volumes. Highly recommend getting a DB meter for your practice space and take care of your ears. You won't ever get back what you lose.
"Features an attenuator switch for 20 watts, 5 watts, or 1 watt output power" I am sold as an apartment dweller in Europe. Good combos with 0.5-1W option are the future.
iconic is hybrid crap, invective is Full tube as far as I know.....invective is just going to be superior in Sound, there's a reason why they Cost more.
this would have been awesome if it would have came out at the same time as the full size head. I purchased that shortly after it was released rendering this and the smaller version useless to me LOL. once you have heard the big version you definitely don't want to go back. although I may recommend this to my little sister who actually needs to get a hold of a decent high gain amp and she really wants a combo. Great video brother, hope you're having a great day out there.
I just dig combo amps. Especially these 1x12 combos. This one is super feature richhh and I love the Peavey sound and the ported cabs are my favorite. I build ported backs for my open backs
Misha just celebrated his Bday yesterday, interesting to see this video. Invective is def on some of our purchase list, but due to pricing we will have to wait for emulation.
Damn it man!!! I wish I would have known this Amp was coming out, I would have waited to get it instead of the Boss Katana I got. I am happy with the Katana though.....maybe I'll still get this amp.
I actually like using open back 1x12 cabs for metal... but I use oversized, partial open back cabs, and I also run a parallel ampless chainsaw rig, which I use IR's of the same speaker in a closed back 4x12, or run into a PA head or power amp that powers that same closed back 4x12... so all the low end comes from the parallel rig. The best part? I have TWO different pedal boards setup for this, and the whole thing fits on a single medium sized board, the noise gates, the overdrive for the amp, all of it.
I originally wanted to get the MH version but a few years ago when I was able to buy one those were hard to find and usually over priced by resellers. I opted for the regular 6550 MH mainly due to a great deal I found on one and it was new. I rarely plug in an amp and play anmore tho and us my pc for my guitar. Its so much easier and versatile. I kind of wish I wouldve held out for the Invective but most likely wouldve ended up using the $ elsewhere and got neither. It sounds like the combo does everything I would expect from it. No real surprises or irregularities. Just a sweet Gainy amp that can crush out some awesome hxc and metal riffs.
Kyle i bought new tubes for my Peavey vypyr 60 watt amp there jj 6l6 gc and jj 12ax 83s. Do you know if these sound the same as the ruby tubes that were stock?
I much prefer the original 6505 sound to all the Fender/EVH stuff. The 6505 has a flatter frequency response and a warmer midrange. Plus, the EVH gear has a very pronounced mid-range bump that I don't care for. It's cool if you like that tone of course, it's just not for me.
peavey still has them in stock for $1099.99, reverb listings appear to be trying to get $1199.99... price change recently? would love the 120w head, options galore and dual fx loop! 😍 nice find! i could definitely live with the mini, they aren't crazy expensive used either...
I don't know, every Misha-related gear I've tried sucked balls, starting with Protone pedal, MXR precision drive, and the Invective head that I bought new which had a lot of noise, I found lot other users had QC issues with it, I ditched the head before I got PT issue other owners reported.
Oh, and his signature Jackson was also a big disappointment. it was nowhere near the quality of Jakcson sigs of Marty Friedman and Phil Collen which I own.
Thank you for the demo, but I just don't think combos are the right format for a Metal amp. That first tone that you got was great, don't get me wrong, but it still sounds like a small combo. No balls. All boxy mids. No airiness.
there's just NO comparison between hybrid and full tube amps.....mainly at louder volumes......I've owned both. Resell value is always Shit on Hybrids too, just the reality of the situation.
on a side note tinnitus is no joke and I can't play loud amps anymore, protect yourselves fellas it could change your life
Seconded, my ears ring non stop and it drives me crazy. It's not a joke, wear ear plugs at shows, and play at sane volumes. Highly recommend getting a DB meter for your practice space and take care of your ears. You won't ever get back what you lose.
Tinnitus really sucks and sucks and sucks…
Agree. Unlike this amp, tinnitus does suck!

It is a head but that reminds me of the newer Kraken. Lots of good features on that thing
1 watt for late night, 5 watt for daytime, and 20 watt for weekends 🤘
You know what be cool, a comparison between a Iconic combo and the Invective combo. Amen 🎉
Sponsored video from sweet? The comparison would be....5150 SUX SHYTTT....IN COMPARISON
iconic is hybrid crap, invective is Full tube as far as I know.....invective is just going to be superior in Sound, there's a reason why they Cost more.
A video that doesn't suck on an amp that doesn't suck? This doesn't suck!
A comment that doesn’t suck, from a channel that definitely doesn’t suck.
19:28 "that you as a modern guitarist playing to absolutely no one in your bedroom" you didn't have to call me out like that 😭
You get to a few more ears than most goose!!
lmao I read this as he was saying
I'm guessing that's a big part of the market of this thing haha. I just bought the Iconic combi to do exactly that.
Kyle: "Let's see if it can handle some dad rock." ...proceeds to play Coheed riff...
Me: Why does my back suddenly hurt?
this is basically everything I need in one amp
this would have been awesome if it would have came out at the same time as the full size head. Totally kicks consulate butt 🤘
Nice amp. Nice demo. ❤
It sounds great and looks to meet any requirement I would have. I like it and will put it on my possible future buy list for sure.
Bought time someone is reviewing this thing!!! Wish I could afford it lol.
I like the new Epiphone headstock. Now looks like a serious guitar. Might have to buy one.
Damn it man!!! I wish I would have known this Amp was coming out, I would have waited to get it instead of the Boss Katana I got.

Wish more heads came eith attenuators

Would love to see you do the katana artist gen 3 head
Didn’t hear anything after seeing that Buried Alive shirt. Band fucking rules. Ok I hear something. Great tone. 😍
Kyle i bought new tubes for my Peavey vypyr 60 watt amp there jj 6l6 gc and jj 12ax 83s. Do you know if these sound the same as the ruby tubes that were stock?
Finally someone who loves inverted 5ths as much as me 😂😂

That gate seems to be quick on there too, wonder what its modeled after....

nice find! i could definitely live with the mini, they aren't crazy expensive used either...
I definitely think it’s badass but I would just as soon buy the lunch box head and a Harley Benton 2x12 for what it costs
Well of course it won't suck if you put a Vintage 30 speaker in it.
Yeah active pickups at least to what I'm hearing, works great with the amp.
Kyle, would you consider reviewing Blades Amps? Theyre pretty infamous on online forums. Would probably get a lot of views
Thing is an IRL DSP plugin. I like it.
I don't know, every Misha-related gear I've tried sucked balls, starting with Protone pedal, MXR precision drive,

it was nowhere near the quality of Jakcson sigs of Marty Friedman and Phil Collen which I own.
And a shirt that certainly doesn’t suck!
Wait - is this combo new? Invective has been around for a few years…
Yep! Came out a couple months back
@@belligerentamateur sweet!!!
nice, i really like that your don't play covers (that I'm familiar with:)
1:03 for a quick moment i thought he was about to play Apostle by Reign Supreme :)
The price for this little guy does indeed, suck
9:40 feathers by coheed?. nice!
you bet!
I'm going to refer to my baritone as my "very drop tuning" from now on.
links to the UA pedal not the invective brother!
He has the Heritage guitar I asked about!
Swap out that vanilla 30 for a redback so damn fast
Buried Alive hell yeah
I guess Coheed and Cambria is Dad rock now. I'll ask my kids.
The EL84s turned me way off for this amp combo
Me listening to this without watching the video: So what? It sounds like any other half stack.
Also me: That’s Right, it’s only a 112 combo! 😮
I think guitars peaked in 1961 and amps peaked in 91. Modern is on the other side of the bell curve
5:17 words are hard
*wurdz is hard
Did I hear Biohazard?
Don't worry , that "boxy mids" can be easily tamed with EQ pedal , slight cut around 400hz to 500hz
Thank you for the demo, but I just don't think combos are the right format for a Metal amp. That first tone that you got was great, don't get me wrong, but it still sounds like a small combo. No balls. All boxy mids. No airiness.
Of course you can play rock with it if you didn't tune your guitar to drop C
Well, I was in E standard for the majority of the video, sweaty.
shoot out 5150 Iconic combo vs this.
there's just NO comparison between hybrid and full tube amps.....mainly at louder volumes......I've owned both. Resell value is always Shit on Hybrids too, just the reality of the situation.
There’s a whole lot on non sucking going on here!
Please tell me I'm not the only one that read the title as "Peavey Ineffective..." 😭
HA HA!
Also, use different a pick up, cap, pot output for proper testing. Yes this is an actual thing
That's a CHUG machine.
Am I deaf or is the audio wildly unbalanced in this video? I could barely hear you speaking but then the amp audio came through loud as f*ck
"Combo's are for weak people "
Maybe it's time to learn new low gain riffs ,👀
def not
