      Bro I’m a huge Breitling fan can’t believe they’re getting away with these garbage movements, even Hamilton updates their ETAs to 80 Hours. Can’t believe anyone is paying 8K US for this watch at the moment on Chrono absolute garbage!

      @@jeremyelliott9831 You can get COSC watches for less than 2k, so this argument doesn't hold. A watch runs out of power when you don't wear it. At 38h it won't even last two days, you will have to manually wind it and set the time again if you decided to wear another watch. A watch with 70h power reserve will last the weekend without wearing or winding.

      @@jeremyelliott9831Agree completely; people are absolute clowns with their fixation on power reserve. Unless the reserve is extreme; like 12 hours, then it’s complete moot point. These latest gen SuperOceans are very nice.

    I'll be surprised if this one isn't discontinued within 2 years. I get it, it looks vintage, but vintage isn't always attractive.

    Love the case and bezel. Hate the odd smallhands and face. They should had just updated the bracelet and clasp on the old SO and put a longer Pr movement in it.

    I don't get all the movement comments on here.
    The new superocean has an extremely well designed case, dial and bezel. High quality production too.
    Watches are not 'just' about movements in my opinion.
    As for said movement, the Sellita Swiss movement for the most part copies ETA movements.
    When you see the Sellita SW200 movement in a watch, it is the same movement as an ETA 2824-2. The reason Breitling are using Sellita movements, is not so much about cost, but more having to do with the fact that ETA are now part of Swatch Group.
    The Sellita movements appear to be just as good as ETA. Know that the parts are the same.
    People can rest assured that most watch makers are complete sticklers for quality, and would not use any movement that would do their name injustice.
    Your paying for a fettled Sellita in a watch package made by a established brand leader. If the debate is about the power reserve, then that's one worth debating, but to slag a a cosc movement as part of what is a great design package is for me just wrong.

    • @robertposteschild2353
      @robertposteschild2353 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are misrepresenting the comments. There's nothing wrong with an 2824 or a SW200. But to charge 5k for a watch with one of those is just ridiculous. Breitling is ripping you off, plain and simple. Great design package? That's debatable.
      Once again, there's nothing wrong about using an ETA or Sellita in a watch. The problem is breitling is charging you a ridiculous amount for this. Remember, this is Omega Seamaster money here, a far superior watch and a far superior movement. I know which watch I'd rather buy any day of the week. COSC? Give me a break, I can get COSC certified dive watches for

      @@robertposteschild2353 what do you want for £4k? a b01 movement? Give me a break! A valjoux 7750 fettled?
      Is the Omega Calibre 8800 movement, in a £4k watch no it isnt ....more £5k.
      Design, case and dial on the superocean is let's say 'cool' vs the Omega. They are not comparable.
      So explain to me, for the extra £1k you swap movement over design? Is that your point?

      @@philc1773 You realise Tudor uses superior movements for less than this right? And guess what, Breitling does have access to those movements through their partnership with Tudor.
      Stop coming up with excuses. Oris can come up with their own movements with a 120h power reserve and charge less. Breitling doesn't have to use their own movements, but then they also don't have to charge you 5k for an SW-200.
      For some reason you have super low standards when it comes to this brand. Why do you keep defending this blatant ripoff of a watch?

      @@stanwilson7040 haha you don’t give up do you. Ok let me break it down for you. Let’s put limited editions and high end haute horological pieces aside. WB can charge what ever the heck they want if those are hard to find pieces. I’m talking about regular pieces. Watchbox consistently prices pieces above MSRP. Read the comments, I’m not the only logical person here. Forget the supply and demand excuse because most of the time these watches are available at the AD. Case is point, I like watching WB for the reviews. Early this year I was interested in a BB58. It was available in store all over my city. WB had it used and priced $300 above asking price. So let me get this straight with you. You’re telling me I should pay a premium for a used watch because of customer service and insurance? So I’m really the idiot if I bought brand new at my AD for less because I didn’t get gold class customer service? Oh and it sounds like you are the one that needs to grow up. You had to have the last laugh when I just dipped out. Now you made me go and have to waste my time to explain something that I didn’t care about, but sometimes people like you need a slap in the face.

      @mpeters4731 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Personally, I'd rather have a thin case like this than a thicker one with a movement inside with a 70 hour power reserve. I find long power reserves a rather nebulous feature, I care more about things like serviceability, anti-magnetism and finishing/aesthetics of a movement.
