In 4.0 I had an issue where the points of the curve in the 3rd part weren't merged, it was creating unconnected segments. I had to solve this by adding a "Curve to Mesh" - "Merge by Distance" - "Mesh to Curve" set before the "Set Spline Type" node
i had an issue where things weren't 'simulating' correctly and it turns out it was because I added the object info node and then targeted the controller object. When I dragged the object from the hierarchy into the geometry nodes window and used the object info node which that created and everything began to work as expected. Just wanted to leave this here in casae anyone runs into this, also in case anyone knows why this happens?

Make sure final node in the node tree connected to the group output node and the viewer node.
