- Is Stage 2 really needed in the new Octavia RS?
On the old Laura VRS a stage 1 map got you 20hp, and stage 2 got you 60hp. Fast forward to 2018, on the new Octavia RS Revo is claiming 310hp just with a remap and 320hp along with a catback. That is 80-90 hp with just software!!
With Revo claiming very near stage 2 numbers on their Stage 1 map, I get into a car that just got the map and a milltek catback exhaust to find out if it is really as fast as the Stage 2 car I drove.

I have a rs 162 wagon. It spins the wheels now and its stock. Looking forward to revo intake, milltek exhaust and a tune. 👍
The 0-100 timing will be reduced a lot if the wheels don't spin.

Unfortunately the Octavia is FWD. I have one at stock which won't spin the tires in second only in first but the stage one prob pushes it over the edge. Third gear probably feels a fair bit faster with the stage one It could go faster in low gears with AWD.
Sure it will, this car uses a FWD drivetrain instead of Haldex on demand 4WD. I'd feel better pushing the limits of a car with 4WD...

Rohan sb cuz we don’t get good RWD cars here for cheap. M/AMG cars are super expensive, and regular rwd cars are 4 banger and too slow compared to the fwd offerings.

Being FWD, it looks like its struggling to put the power down off the line but seems ok once it gets going.
Yes.. unfortunately the RS230 also had an open diff, which made putting down the power even more difficult.. fortunately my 245 has a proper mechanical Limited Slip Diff...

Hey, how would you compare a new VRS vs a used BMW 330i / G30 530i / F10 530d for driving pleasure? The price difference won't be much and I'm wondering which is more fun to drive and better to own overall!
G30 530i I'd avoid. Slow as fuck.. F30 330i is quick and fun, E90 330i is quick but querky due to gearbox issues and both 330i's needs 97/99 RON to perform. F10 530d is super quick and FUN but a diesel. VRS is great to drive and mod friendly, but the steering is lifeless and boring.
I had ford ikon 1.6 n used it to the hilt with Few simple modifications , but the funn it gave was amazing specially the steering feedback along with Ride & handling !

The only thing which stops me from getting a RS is its questionable after sales service. How do you guys manage it? Do you go do 3rd party service ? If so, what about the spares? Thanks
well firstly there is NO RS on sale anymore.. its discontinued sadly. Secondly, the ASS depends on the workshop.. All the mod are done at the respective dealers, and regular or major repair work done at dealers. As for me Autopsyche does nearly all my work, and the stuff they can't, the dealers does. I've a good relationship with Jai Auto in Gurgaon and they have done good work on the car, even though its modded.

@captain vyom so you basically excuse those poor driving conditions, and the drivers of whom 90% would lose their licence not only in germany but everywhere else in the world. What we see here is not endurance nor great driving skills, but complete oposite of it. I would like to see an average indian driver, go trough alps on 1m of snow, or drive trough transalpina or other european roads. Only things counting on indian roads are reflexes and lots of luck. Just take a look on indian ambulance intervention vs EU ambulance intervention (there are tons of comparison videos on yt), in delhi streets no one even fucking acknowledges the ambulance, such an ignorance, selfishness and lack of empathy for someone's life. @captain vyom harsh condition always require undestructible machinery, you don't need such a strong axles on eu roads. But mountain passes on Ural are a different story just as in himalaya. There you need good ol trucks as ural, kamaz etc. You need to adopt to a certain conditions, while in eu roads such an old trucks would be too uneconomical, unpractical etc

i hope you understand thay in changing the turbo you need to change many parts of the engine for reliability, bigger turbo means more air, bigger injectors, bigger fuel lines, bigger fuel pump, Bigger turbo means more heat so bigger intercooler, bigger radiator, new water pump, more oil with correct oil lines and possibly new oil pump. This will also increase wear on the auto gearbox. But then again if you wanns go fsst for couple of months this is fine.
No need for new oil & fuel pumps & radiator & oil lines. Beauty of VAG is the common parts bin is usually designed for the highest application and filters down to the lower spec cars and engines.

I have a 2008 Hyundai Santro sitting in my garage. Can it be remapped for Better performance? Only remap won't do much so what other mods need to be done? Or should i simply swap the engine and add a turbo.

There seemed to be a lot of jerks while recording this video even though the road looked good. I dont mind stiffer suspensions but dont want to go for something too stiff and uncomfortable as my family members may not like it.

nopes. The gearbox can take upto 550nm torque. Then you will need upgraded clutch pack.

I am using shell 5W-40 fully synthetic
Check your Timing Chain tensioner. Most likely its leaking and needs to be changed. All VW 1.8TSI motors have this issue. If its leaking change it ASAP or the motor can blow. Also check the PCV Valve for proper working.
