I have to say that I really LOVE watching your videos. Your personality is a bit crazy (and I enjoy that), plus you teach very slowly and that's what I need. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us!!!!
Working on my first cresent shawl from your other video! Thanks sooo much for showing the rh version too! I'm still new at this and sometimes watching continental demos gets really tricky visually since I'm not very good at it yet!
OMG Barbara, I look like that too when I try to knit non-continental. I'm glad to see I'm not alone in that endeavor. Love that Fractured Helix in the background. Mine is coming along. Had to pause working on it to watch your video. It was great. Thank you for taking the time to show us.
LOL. I have done stranded knitting once and it was painful the entire time. I am so excited you are knitting Fractured Helix, I'd love to see pictures.
I’m just finishing up your easy crescent shawl (my very first knitting project!) and am doing this bind off…kinda sorta. I’m a crocheter and this bind off is super easy to do with a crochet hook. Thanks for the confidence boosting start to my knitting journey!
Barbara, Thank You so much! I absolutely agree that this is a perfect Bind Off for Shawls and you can definitely see that the beautiful curve of the crescent shawl will block evenly and with some structure as you pointed out! Great video!
I really like this bind off. I just finished it on your easy 2 row lace crescent shawl. Now I just have to weave in the ends and block and I will post a photo. Thank you!!
I'm so glad it was helpful. I really like the needles but the cable was driving me crazy! I hope the silver works for you in the next one or do I need to look for other dark needles?
Thank you so much Barbara. I'm in the process of making the curved asymmetrically shaped shawl....Can't wait to get to Expandable lace bind off. Fairly new knitter and don't know how I'd manage without all the beautiful youtube videos.
Thank you! You are wonderful! I always learn something new with you! I'm either going to make the crescent shape shawl or the asymmetrical shawl & wlll bind off this way. :) merci +++++
victoria daigle Thay sounds very interesting, I’ll have to try it, but it’s been my experience that if I say to use a crochet hook a large percentage of knitters will pass on the pattern lol.
Hi! Those are actually Susan Bates needles. Honestly, I don't particularly care for them so but they look great on camera. After figuring out that I like the way these look on camera I found some much better needles that have a similar look and they are Zings from Knitters Pride. amzn.to/2thtdOP
This is going to make binding off for shawls so much easier. Thank you so much!
You are so welcome!

Awww, thank you. And I know my personality is a bit off of the wall - but I can't help it LOL.
This is so helpful. I’m knitting lace bookmarks and this bind off looks perfect for that! Thank you!!
You are so welcome!
Ooooh! Thank you, Barbara! You are awesome!

You are so welcome! I know it can be painful to watch me try to do English style, but I hope it is helpful.
Thank you Barbara. I love this bond off.
Yay!

I'll post some pics once it is done.

I am so glad you dove in and found it fun. Using a crochet hook can make many different bind-offs way easier!
This would also be a good replacement for the standard bind-off when you want just a bit more stretch. Good tutorial. Thanks :)
Yes! But keep in mind it adds a bit of thickness/height to the b/o.

I'm so glad that you like this bind off, it is one of the earliest ones I learned and I still use it all of the time!
Thanks for posting this great tutorial! I'm always looking for a new way to bind off my lace shawls.
I'm so glad that I could add to your repertoire!
Love your personality!! Thank you for sharing you knowledge with we beginners. Show us ways to grow!
Thank you! I am glad you like the video. I am working on more.
Nice! I like the bind off! I also enjoyed your difficulty knitting English 😆 . You reminded me of me.
LOL, it is good to stay humble, eh?
I really like this bind off. I just finished it on your easy 2 row lace crescent shawl. Now I just have to weave in the ends and block and I will post a photo. Thank you!!
I can't wait to see it!
Thank you Barbara! I like the look of this bind off, and it looks easy.
Wonderfully clear video thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this tutorial . Also, I really liked the dark needles and light yarn as it made it easier for an old lady like me to see! Cyn
I'm so glad it was helpful. I really like the needles but the cable was driving me crazy! I hope the silver works for you in the next one or do I need to look for other dark needles?
As a thrower,if you hold your yarn between your thumb and pointer finger it works..I'll try this bind off.thx👍
I'll try it out - but my thumb is usually busy doing other things LOL.
Thank you so much Barbara! You have enriched my knitting life!!
That is amazing to hear. Thank you for watching!

I hope you have a ton of fun!
Thanks Barbara!
My pleasure.
Thanks again🌸🌼🌹 Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄
Thanks for the knowledge!
Any time!
So excited to try this when I bind off tomorrow. The stretchy bindoffs are always too flimsy for me and sewn always fights me in the blocking.
I’d love to hear how it works for you!
I'm halfway through the bind off so far, super excited to see how it blocks. Is there a way to tag you on my completed Instagram photo when I'm done?
Yes indeed I’m @tumpedduck on Instagram!
oh wow........thanks Barbara......was waiting
Thank you so much for another great video! Tessa☆
So glad you liked it!
Great video!! Thank you 😊
Thanks for watching!
You can also switch to a corresponding crochet hook and chain one, yarn over, pull thru two and repeat

A new bind off for me. Thank you.
I'm so glad that the video is helpful.

Thank you 🥰
My pleasure.
Thanks again🌷
My pleasure!
Thanks from Iceland
My Pleasure! I am glad it was useful for you.
Does this work purlwise as well?
It sure does. I have actually used it on ribbing where I switch back and forth from purl to knit.
What is the brand of knitting needles you are using in this demo? Looks like Signature needles.

Hummmm! ZINGS. Gotta check those out. I'm a great fan of circular needles. Thanks and take care. Happy shawl knitting!
Thanks for this technique! I can't knit continental very well as I learned English style first 🤣😂
You knit however works for you! I'm glad you liked the video.
Yeah...someone who knits Continental.....it is the best style!
It's definitely the one I am most comfortable with.
How much yarn would this take? 3 times the width of the row?
Yes, that's about right.
That is funny. I knit that bad continental. Somehow I ended up a flicker.
I'm glad you liked it. I think it is important for people to see that I struggle with stuff too. Everyone does!
😊 👌👍🏽
Very nice 🌹🌹 like
Thank you!
You are a great teacher
