I have used both these bind-offs, as well as 'regular' knit or purl bind off, picot bind offs, wavy bind offs, etc. However, I am reworking a mid-Victorian shawl design in a simple stockinette-based lace (lace stitces all on the knit row, then an all purl row); it ends after a purl row. I have tried knitting an extra row then bind off on the purl side, using different methods, tried binding off on the knit side, tried bind off knit-wise on purl row (Russian bind off knit-wise on purl side is best so far) just can NOT find a bind off that does not curl up on the stockinette side!!! Short of knitting a couple or 3 rows in garter stitch before casting off, do you know a bind off that would prevent the curl?
@@wendyanderson8169 I don't know of any bind-off that will prevent Stockinette stitch from curling. You could try aggressively blocking the shawl to see if that would help (but it's probably only a temporary solution).
And thank you so much for this video! I ran out of yarn towards the end of my yarn over bind off and was looking for an alternative when I heard you say that you can customize when you yarn over! Yay! I did not know that! Now I’m deciding if I want to do that or the lace one you’ve shown.😉
Do you have a favorite method for binding off your shawls?

Hello! I love the yarn over bind off lately. I made a couple shawls and I love how it kind of frills the edge.
