Hey Linc, I do a lot of fussy hand work at my job wearing nitrile gloves and I found that you have much more dexterity (and feel/feedback) if you wear a tighter fitting glove. So don’t shy away from trying a glove that’s a size smaller.
Also, acetone is a good (& cheaper) thinner for Tamiya putty. Nice textures can also had by gently wet sanding (600 grit and/or finer) the peaks off your putty texture, leaving just the lows and voids.

Excellent video, Linc! Returning to fundamentals and "secret sauce" videos every so often is normally a good idea. Allows you to update with the refinements discovered and also serves up content to newer followers who didn't deep-dive into your video history.

As @Plastic_Chamber pointed out, smaller gloves. Also, you can get "finger cots". It's like a condom for a finger. Used when you have stitches on your finger and they need to be protected from getting wet. Good for this if you get small ones and don't want to use a whole glove.

Love it I cannot express the gratitude I have for the knowledge you give with so much enthusiasm and dept. I am going to become a white belt ASAP. It’s not much compared to invaluable teaching. now you have to tell the good folks at wave and hasegawa to get them to make some more kits for us plastiholics . Getting jacked up priced kits through third person sellers is for the birds. You rule and thanks again.

Thank you, Sir. The Factions i paint are mostly Black, and plain boring, so this technique is what i've been needing badly.

Would x-20a/mr color thinner work as well on the medium step instead of extra thin cement?

Amazing channel. Just got into MK as an add on to my tank hobby. Any ideas where I can buy kits in NY state or NJ. I like to support local stores and not ebay. Thanks

Thanks Leo! Sorry that I don't live local there but folks in my Facebook Group and Discord will know much better than I do and yes, it's great if we can find a good LHS. I'm 100% agreed but also sadly don't have any more...

Amazing job. Tho I feel the texture looks to much for such scale. Im currently building one using tamiya diluted putty, but, not before wetting the surface with liquid cement, then stipple with a brush, lightly sand and repeat with thinned putty. Finaly, add bullet proof bolt heads used on german tanks during WWII. i add bolt head last because they are machined, not cast. I am also a tank modeler too lol so,Im aways programed as if building tanks,so,to each their own.

Great work, Uncle Link! Haven't done a model in too long and this has brought me back to Ma.K-land 💎 Now it's long overdue to get a new model and have some fun. Thanks for sharing your technique as always!
